Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and your love for your son with us. We have read your prayer with care and we join you in bringing him before the Lord Jesus Christ, trusting in the Father's mercy and grace.
We pray that God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ will grant to you and to your son that grace and peace which Christ came to give. Scripture teaches that peace is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, and that where Christ is present, earth can become like heaven. We ask the Lord to give your son deep, lasting peace in his heart and mind, and quietness in his surroundings, not only the absence of disturbance but the presence of Christ's peace that surpasses all understanding.
We bring your specific requests to the Lord. We ask Him to watch over your son day and night, to grant him restful sleep and a calm and joyful waking, to bless his meals and remove confusion and distress around eating, to ease any discomfort in his body and stomach, and to help him receive his food with contentment and thankfulness. We ask for gentleness and calm as he communicates his wants and needs, for patience and ease during daily hygiene and shaving, and for relief from sensory distress and anxiety. We pray that the Lord will calm every storm within him, heal his mind and heart, and replace fear, anger, and agitation with confidence, clarity, and a gentle spirit. We ask God to guard him from tormenting memories and harmful habits, and to form in him healthy and godly ways of expressing himself.
We also pray for your home and all who care for him. We ask the Lord to surround your home, every room and door, and every place he goes, with His protection, and to give his caregivers, his support coordinator, and all visitors wisdom, patience, compassion, and strength. We pray for your daughter, that the Lord will deepen love and understanding between her and her brother, and for peace and unity in your whole family. We ask God to remove every negative influence and division, and to bless your family with godly friendships and true encouragement.
We thank God with you for the months He has kept your son free from seizures and for every sign of progress you have seen. Even when setbacks come, we trust that God is near, that He hears the prayers of His people, and that He gives His angels charge over His children. We ask Him to keep your son under His hand, to fill him with the Holy Spirit, and to lead him step by step toward wholeness in Christ.
We will continue to pray that the Lord will establish in your son and in your household that quiet and peaceable life in all godliness, and that His love will be felt in a new way each day. May the Lord grant you rest tonight and hope for tomorrow, as you trust in His unfailing care.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, asking for His healing, His protection, and His perfect peace to rest upon your son and upon all of you. Amen.
