Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and your love for your son so openly. I am joining you in prayer before the Lord for him and for your whole household.
Jesus described Himself as the door of the sheepfold, laying Himself across the entrance so that nothing can come to the sheep or go from them without passing over Him. That is the protection you are asking for when you pray that nothing enter your son's life or body except through the blood of Christ. We ask the Lord to be that living door around your son tonight and every night, that His presence would guard his sleep, his waking, his meals, his travels and his friendships, and that no harm or spiritual attack would cross over Christ to reach him.
You remember the dream where a ladder was set on the earth reaching to heaven with the Lord standing at the top. It is a picture that God has not left your family alone. He is above, He is watching, and He is with you. As He told Jacob to return to the land of his family and promised I will be with you, and reminded him I am the God who met you at Bethel, so He is the God who has met you in this journey and who remains with you and your children. We pray you will know His nearness in your home.
We pray specifically that the Lord will grant your son a peaceful, calm night, that he will lie down and sleep without disturbance and wake refreshed. The Scripture says His commandment is a lamp and His law is light, and that when you sleep it will keep you and when you awake it will speak with you. We ask that the Word of God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, would keep his heart and mind, quieting confusion, restlessness, fear, frustration and anxiety, and filling him instead with clarity, joy, gratefulness and contentment. We pray his meals will be peaceful, that he will eat with thankfulness and be satisfied, free from distress or discomfort in his body.
We also lift up the bond between your son and his sisters. How beautiful and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters dwell together in unity, and how the Lord delights to restore what has been strained. We ask God to remove every obstacle, division and negative influence that has brought disrespect or isolation, and to pour out unconditional love, compassion and unity among them. We pray that any influence that looks down on your son or seeks to sow discord among you would be removed or redirected, and that God would surround your family with godly friendships and mentors who encourage and uplift.
For you and for his caregivers we ask for wisdom, patience and discernment to do what is right and helpful for him. We pray the Lord will provide dedicated, gentle and caring helpers who bring out the best in him, and that He will give your son a gentle heart toward them and a settled peace even when there are changes in schedule or caregivers. We ask that God would anoint his daily activities, his independent times, his outings and his services, that they would bear fruit in growth, breakthrough and healing.
We pray for healing in his mind, body and spirit. By the stripes of Jesus we are healed, as Isaiah 53:5 declares. We ask the Lord to bring restoration in the areas of autism, trauma, anxiety and sensory challenges, to ease every source of physical pain or discomfort, to calm rigid habits and to replace setbacks with His blessing and favor. We pray that every spirit of fear, torment and confusion would bow to the name of Jesus and leave, and that your son would be filled with the Holy Spirit, with peace and joy.
We ask the Father to surround him with a hedge of protection, that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and to clothe him with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. We ask that ministering angels would encamp around him and guard him in all his ways, and that your whole household would dwell safely and sleep securely, knowing the Lord sends showers of blessing in season upon His people.
Like the father who put a ring on his son's hand and shoes on his feet to show he was received not as a servant but as a beloved son, so we thank God that your son is deeply loved and welcomed as His child. He was not forgotten and he is not alone. The Father rejoices over His children and desires to make them part of His family through Jesus Christ.
We stand in agreement with you, thankful for the more peaceful days God has already granted and trusting Him for what is ahead. His Word promises that where two or three are gathered in His name, He is in their midst, and that He hears our prayers according to His perfect will. May His bright light dispel every shadow in your home and fill it with calm, joy, peace and safety today and in every day to come.
