Peaceful Night

We thank God with you for the peaceful day He granted your son and for the comfort he experienced with his caregiver. It is right to give thanks for every calm and gentle day, for every sign of His mercy in small things as well as great.

We join you in prayer for the change coming this Tuesday. When a trusted caregiver can no longer come, it is natural for a child and a family to feel uncertainty and sadness. We pray that the Lord, who keeps Israel and neither slumbers nor sleeps, will keep your son day and night. Even when we must sleep, He remains awake and watchful over those we love. We ask that He will surround your son with His presence, calm any anxiety, and help him adjust with peace and confidence. We pray that God in His providence will provide additional caregivers who are faithful, patient, and understanding, who will respect your son, follow your guidance, and find joy in caring for him, and that a genuine bond of trust will grow between them.

We pray also for your son's communication and daily life. We ask the Lord to help him use his functional language to express his needs and wants calmly and confidently, and to lessen frustration and rigid habits. We pray for restful sleep without bad dreams, for peace in his meals, routines, and interactions, and for healing and strength in body, mind, and spirit according to God's perfect will. As you prayed, we ask that anything that steals his peace, whether fear, anxiety, torment, or confusion, would be driven away in the name of Jesus, and that he would be clothed with peace, joy, and satisfaction. We pray that the Lord would place His hedge of protection around him, cover him with the full armor of God, and command His ministering angels to guard him in all his ways.

We remember your younger daughter as well. We pray that the Lord will grant her quietness and focus as she studies, and restful sleep at night. We pray that He will deepen the loving relationship between brother and sister with compassion, understanding, and unity, and that He will guard your whole household from division and bring you together in love.

We pray for you, your family, and all who care for your son, that God will give wisdom, patience, and discernment to each one. We ask that He will provide godly mentors and friends who encourage your son and bring out the best in him, and that any services provided would truly help him and not cause regression.

Scripture reminds us that night is a gift from God, a haven and solace after the toils of the day, and that sleep itself is bound into our nature by His care for us even when we would not care for ourselves. It also reminds us to guard our hearts and to remain steadfast and sober, watching in faith while trusting the One who never sleeps. May you rest in that promise tonight and each night, knowing that while you and your children sleep, the Lord watches over your home and His light dispels every shadow.

We stand with you in agreement, believing that God hears the prayers offered in the name of Jesus and answers according to His perfect will. May He grant your household a calm and restful night tonight and peaceful days to come, filling your home with His calm, joy, love, and safety.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
