Beloved of All
We have heard your prayer for your precious son and we join you in lifting him before our merciful Father with thanksgiving and hope.
Your love and persistence in prayer are a beautiful testimony. We thank God with you for keeping your son seizure free for these many months and for the care he receives, and we ask the Lord to continue His gracious work in every part of his life.
We pray that the grace and peace which come from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ may rest upon him and upon your whole household. Scripture teaches us that peace is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, and that where peace is present love can grow and every good work can flourish. We ask Christ, who reconciled heaven and earth and who gives His own peace to His people, to calm every storm within, to quiet anxiety and fear, and to fill his heart, mind and body with the peace that surpasses all understanding.
We pray for his daily needs which you have entrusted to the Lord. For his sleep, that it may be sweet and restful and free from disturbance. For his waking hours, that he may be refreshed, joyful and calm. For his meals, that he may eat peacefully with gratitude and contentment and without confusion or distress, and that the Lord would ease any discomfort in his body and strengthen him. For his hygiene and care, for shaving, dressing and all sensory sensitivities, that every sound and sensation would be gentle and that he would be given confidence to express his wants and needs in a calm and gentle manner. For his time with caregivers, his sister, and visitors, that he would know inclusion, kindness and joy, and that all who care for him would be given wisdom, patience, understanding and strength.
We also ask the Lord to guard your home. As you have prayed, we ask Him to surround your son and your family with His protection, to appoint His angels to watch over him, and to keep far from him all harm, fear and spiritual oppression. We pray that every tormenting memory, habit of fear or anger, and every source of confusion and agitation would be healed by the mercy of Christ, and that in their place the Lord would establish healthy, godly patterns of communication and behavior that honor Him.
We pray for your daughter, that the Lord would restore and deepen her love for her brother and knit your family together in compassion and unity. We pray for all who influence his life, that any division or harmful influence would be removed and that God would provide godly friendships, mentors, caregivers and advocates who truly seek his good. We pray for his support coordinator and each member of his care team, that they would listen with understanding and act with faithful care.
We remember the inner war that so often troubles the soul even when outward circumstances are quiet. We ask God to still that inner turmoil, to heal past hurts, to break the chains of anxiety and to make his mind and heart whole. May he grow in confidence to use the language God has given him, to find joy in daily activities and outings, and to experience safety and delight wherever he goes.
We do not ask for these things because we deserve them, but because God is gracious. He has made us who were far off to become His own children through His Son, and He delights to give good gifts to those who call upon Him. We entrust your son fully to the washing and healing power of the blood of Christ and to the comfort of the Holy Spirit, asking that he would be filled with love, joy, gentleness, obedience and gratitude.
May the Lord keep you as you keep watch in prayer. Continue to bring every need to Him, for He hears and He cares. We stand with you, asking for ongoing victory, healing, restoration and breakthrough in your son's life, and for a peaceful and restful night and day for all in your home.
