Your heartfelt prayer for your older daughter has been received with deep care and seriousness, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.
We thank God for your faithfulness in raising your daughter in His ways and for your clear love that seeks her protection, freedom and restoration. We also thank Him with you for the promotion He recently granted her in her work, and we ask Him to guard that good gift and let it continue to be a blessing to others.
We agree with you that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that living together and sexual intimacy belong only within that covenant. What you describe, a household outside of marriage that is marked by control, manipulation, financial exploitation, isolation and exhaustion, is not the order God intends for His daughters. Scripture teaches that nothing is more pleasant than a life ordered by virtue and reverence for God, and that a true husband is to be a protector and a leader who shows piety, gentleness, understanding and the fear of God. A relationship that instead demands that your daughter carry responsibilities that are not hers, that treats an ungodly living arrangement as if it were marriage, that drains her finances and credit and cuts her off from family and church, does not reflect that calling. We will not ask God to bless that arrangement as it stands, but we do ask Him to bring conviction, clarity and deliverance.
We pray for your daughter, that the Holy Spirit would open her eyes to see this man as he is, not as a husband, provider or spiritual leader, but as a stumbling block to her walk with Christ. We pray that she would remember she is a daughter of the Most High God through faith in Jesus Christ alone, that her worth is secured not by the approval of this young man or his mother, but by being clothed with Christ and adopted into His family. Just as faith made the afflicted woman a daughter and brought healing, we pray your daughter would take courage, hear the Lord say be of good cheer, and find wholeness through faith in Him. We pray that the hold of toxic influence over her heart would be broken, that her hunger for righteousness would be rekindled, and that she would have wisdom to protect her finances, to take on no more debt to sustain this lifestyle, and to stop confiding in a voice that undermines her while claiming to help her. We ask God to soften her heart to receive His conviction and to give her courage to walk away from bondage without regret, and to return to the safety and wisdom of her supportive family and church community.
We also pray concerning the overreach you describe. We ask the Lord to expose motives rooted in pride, selfishness, jealousy and manipulation, and to frustrate every plan to control, divide and isolate your daughter from you, her siblings, family and church friends. We ask Him to block every word curse and plot spoken against her, and to keep her new workplace free from interference and harm. We pray that this young man would be confronted with his laziness, dishonesty and disrespect, that he would see his need for repentance, and that his father would take proper responsibility and call him to come home alone and grow in maturity before he is ready for any relationship. We pray too for his mother, that she would see how she is enabling harm, that she would turn from instigating chaos and acting as a rescuer, and that she would focus on the health of her own household.
We remember how Scripture warns that after deliverance a person must be corrected and guarded, lest worse things come upon them. Your daughter has been given a loving family, a church home and now a renewed opportunity in her work. We pray she will be sobered and strengthened by both her past suffering and this recent provision, and that she will not return to what harms her.
We commit this matter into the hands of Christ, as one commits the seeking of a spouse to Him. If it is His will for your daughter in the future, we pray He Himself would provide a godly husband, one who will truly be a husband and protector, chosen not for money or status but for virtue and reverence for God. For now we pray above all for her restoration to fellowship with the Lord, for peace and unity to be restored in your home, and for supernatural love, favor and protection to overflow upon you and your children. We plead the blood of Jesus over you and your household and declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
