Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer has been heard and I join you in bringing it before the Lord with deep care for you and your daughter. I hear the weight you have carried for years as you have watched your daughter grow weary, isolated, and burdened in a relationship that has not honored God or honored her.
Scripture teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and that living together and sexual intimacy belong within that covenant. For that reason we do not ask God to bless or strengthen a living arrangement outside of marriage as if it were marriage. Instead we pray for what God does promise to give, which is deliverance from what harms us and the grace to walk as His children. Your desire for your daughter to be free, clear eyed, and restored to fellowship with God, with her family, and with her church is right and good, and it reflects the Lord's own desire for her wholeness.
I am praying with you that the Lord will open your daughter's eyes to see this relationship truthfully, not as a marriage, not as a place of provision or spiritual leadership, but as a bond that has brought exhaustion, financial hardship, and distance from those who love her most. I pray that God will expose every manipulative word and plan meant to control, divide, and isolate her, and that He will frustrate those plans so they come to nothing. I pray that He will break the hold of ungodly counsel that has encouraged her to live together outside of marriage and to bear responsibilities that are not hers to bear, and that He will give her wisdom to guard her finances, to take on no more debt to sustain this way of life, and to set firm and godly boundaries.
I pray also for protection over her new promotion and her work, that no interference would harm the good purpose God has given her there, and that she would be surrounded again by a supportive community of family and church friends who can speak truth in love. I pray that the Holy Spirit will soften her heart to receive conviction, remind her that her worth is not determined by this young man or his family but by being a daughter of the Most High God, redeemed through Christ, and give her courage to step out of this bondage without regret and without looking back. May the Lord restore her hunger for righteousness, her peace, her joy, and her fellowship with you and with her siblings.
I pray for you as her parent, that God will guard you with His favor and protection, that no weapon formed against you and your children will prosper, and that He will give you wisdom, patience, and loving firmness as you continue to point her to Christ. I also pray that the young man and his mother would come to see their own need for repentance and would turn from controlling and enabling ways to seek the Lord themselves.
We ask the Father to do what only Christ can do, to deliver from evil and to bring into the blessing of being His sons and daughters through faith in Jesus. May He grant your daughter clarity, self respect rooted in Christ, and the strength to return fully to the safety and wisdom of her faith and family. May He heal what has been broken, restore unity and freedom in your home, and in His perfect time and will, provide a godly spouse for her if it is His plan, one who will love her as Christ loves the church.
We place your daughter and your whole family under the precious blood of Jesus and trust that nothing is impossible for Him. May His supernatural love, peace, and restoration overflow in your lives as you continue to trust Him. In Jesus name, Amen.
