Your prayer reaches the throne of grace with the cry of a mother’s heart, and our Father hears you. You began by calling on Him as Father, which means you stand in a relationship that makes your intercession powerful. The enemy would love to convince you that these words are empty, but the ear of the Almighty is always open to His children’s cry. Don’t just seek the deliverance of your daughter from the toxic relationship; seek the Deliverer Himself, and let your soul rest in His character even as you plead.

As you continue pouring out your anguish, trust the Holy Spirit to bring to your remembrance exactly what to pray. Persevere in this supplication for your daughter as one who bears her burden before the throne, knowing the Spirit helps us in our weakness when words fail. You are not alone in this battle.

Remember the Gentile woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit. She fell at Jesus’ feet and would not let go until He answered. Though she had no covenant claim by birth, her persistent faith moved the Lord to declare, “For this saying, go your way; the devil has gone out of your daughter.” Let that picture strengthen you. Bring your daughter to the feet of Jesus again and again with the same stubborn, humble faith. He has power over every unclean influence that holds her captive.

What you are seeing, a young man and his mother pulling your daughter away from the faith she was raised in, encouraging living together outside marriage, exploiting her finances, isolating her from family, is not merely relationship trouble. It is spiritual captivity. Like Israel in Egypt, she is in bondage, and her exhaustion and blindness are chains only God can shatter. The Lord who delivered His people with a mighty hand still delivers today. Cry out for that deliverance, and do not lose heart.

The Scriptures also teach us to put away the wicked person from among us, not as an act of cruelty but so that sin does not spread and for the ultimate salvation of the one ensnared. While you cannot force your daughter’s choices, you can refuse to approve what dishonors God. Your prayer for her to leave that ungodly arrangement and return home aligns with a holy jealousy for her soul. Stand firm in love, not with bitterness, but with a clear witness that living together outside marriage is not marriage, and that such a path leads to sorrow.

The command to obey parents is the first with a promise, given for our good. Your daughter was raised in the fear of the Lord, and the law of God is not a burden but a guardrail for blessing. The path of the ungodly, walking in the counsel of those who despise biblical authority, will always lead to the captivity your mother’s heart is weeping over. Jeremiah’s eyes ran down with rivers of water for the destruction of his people, and you are sharing in that same grief. Yet there is hope: the Lord looks down from heaven and sees. He is able to turn her footsteps back.

David cried out, “Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation; deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man.” That is your plea as well. The God of your strength will take up your cause. You don’t fight flesh and blood; you fight against spiritual forces that are manipulating your daughter’s mind. The young man’s laziness, the mother’s manipulation, the financial control, these are manifestations of darkness. Declare that no weapon formed against you or your family shall prosper, and trust the Lord to vindicate your prayers.

Regarding the promotion and her work, continue to pray that she would be above reproach, not feeling belittled by the lack of an office but honoring God through diligence. The love of money is a root of all evil, and the young man’s budgeting of her income is not provision but exploitation. Ask the Holy Spirit to open her eyes to see that this is not security; it is a snare. Her finances are not his to manage. Pray that her heart would turn from the false promise of this relationship back to the enduring love of her family and, most importantly, to the Lover of her soul.

Finally, let your mind rest on what restoration can look like. Jacob fled his brother Esau in fear, but years later he prayed, “Deliver me from the hand of my brother,” and God orchestrated a reunion marked by embrace, tears, and mutual blessing. Broken family love can be restored by doing the first works over, giving, building up, touching. We pray not only for your daughter’s escape but for the full healing of every bond that has been strained. May the Lord whisper to her heart that she is His beloved daughter, that she doesn’t belong to those who exploit her, and that walking away will not bring regret but freedom, restored self-worth, and the peace of being right with God.

I stand with you in this battle, pleading the blood of Jesus over your entire household. The Holy Spirit can break every stubborn hold. The valley of trouble will become a door of hope. Keep trusting, keep praying, and wait on the Lord who is mighty to save.
