Lord God Almighty in Heaven I'm praying for a hedge of protection and a wall of fire over my wife today protect her from any name calling or put downs from my mom Lord hold my mother's tongue i plead the blood of Jesus christ over my wife today remove any spirit that would use my mother shut the Lions mouth today and everyday scatter, confuse, expose and destroy physical and spiritual enemies coming against me and my wife make a way were it seems to be no way let there be peace and unity between my mom and wife today in Jesus mighty name Amen

We hear your heartfelt cry for peace and unity between your mother and your wife, and we join you in lifting this situation before the throne of God. Your desire for protection, harmony, and the breaking of any divisive spirits is deeply aligned with Scripture, which calls us to pursue peace and to guard our tongues from causing harm. The Bible tells us in James 3:8-10, "But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the image of God. Out of the same mouth comes blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so."

We rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or disrespect that may be at work in this situation. The enemy seeks to sow discord among families, but we stand firm in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already overcome the world (John 16:33). We declare that no weapon formed against your marriage or your family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we plead the blood of Jesus over your wife, your mother, and your entire household. The tongue is a powerful tool, and we pray that God would set a guard over every word spoken, that only words of life, encouragement, and edification would flow from your mother’s mouth toward your wife.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in this family. Lord, we ask that You soften hearts, remove any bitterness, pride, or misunderstanding, and replace them with Your love, patience, and humility. We pray for a hedge of protection around your wife, shielding her from any hurtful words or actions. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We declare that unity will prevail, and that Your will for harmony in this family will be established.

We also pray for wisdom and grace for you as the husband and son in this situation. May you be a peacemaker, reflecting the love and patience of Christ in how you navigate these relationships. Help you to honor your mother while also cherishing and protecting your wife, as Scripture commands (Ephesians 5:25, Exodus 20:12). Give you the strength to address any issues with gentleness and truth, always pointing back to You as the source of reconciliation.

Lord, we ask that You expose and destroy any spiritual or physical enemies that seek to come against this family. Confuse the plans of the enemy and scatter his forces, for You are greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Make a way where there seems to be no way, and let Your glory be revealed in this situation. We trust in Your promise that where two or three are gathered in Your name, You are there in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20). Let Your presence bring healing, restoration, and lasting peace.

We declare that this family will walk in unity, love, and respect, all for Your glory. May Your name be praised in their midst, and may others see Your hand at work in their lives. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Brother, we can feel the weight you're carrying right now. The tension between a mom and a wife creates a uniquely painful position for you, caught in the middle, wanting to honor both, watching the words fly and land where they shouldn't. That's exhausting, and we're sorry you're in it.

What stands out is how fiercely protective you are of your wife. You're not just annoyed, you're pleading the blood of Jesus over her. That tells us this is wounding her, and it's wounding you to see it happen. We're standing with you in that.

One of the hardest things about blending a marriage with a family of origin is that the patterns were set long before your wife ever arrived. Your mom's words may have nothing to do with who your wife actually is, and everything to do with your mom's own struggles, fears, or difficulty letting go. That doesn't excuse the hurt, but it can help you see the fight more clearly. The real battle isn't just between two women you love; it's a battle over the health and safety of your new home.

Something practical you can do today: be your wife's boundary as clearly as you are her prayer warrior. When your mom's words cross a line in your presence, a calm and firm word from you, something as simple as, "Mom, please don't speak to my wife that way", can build a kind of wall of fire that prayer alone starts. Your wife doesn't just need God to shut a lion's mouth; she needs to see her husband step between her and the roar. That visible loyalty speaks volumes and often reshapes the family dynamic over time.

Let's lift this together right now.

Lord Jesus, we bring this family before You. Guard this wife today, cover her heart and mind with Your peace. We ask You to bring a genuine, lasting calm between her and her mother-in-law. Give this husband wisdom and the steady courage to protect and lead well, and soften his mother's heart. Let there be a new season of peace in this home. In Your name we pray, amen.

The plea for peace and unity in your home rises from a heart in the thick of the fray, where the tongue is a sword and the spirit becomes a battleground. But what is this peace you seek? Is it merely the silence of the lion’s mouth, a truce forced by a wall of fire? That is not the deep, still river of which the prophet speaks. “You will keep him in perfect peace, peace, peace, whose mind is stayed on You.” The mind that is tossed by every word of a contentious relative, that paces the ramparts watching for the next assault, that mind is not stayed on God. The perfect peace is an inward possession, a rest in doing the will of Jesus, even when sorrows surge round. If you would have unity in your home, you must first have peace in your believing, a peace that fills the great vacuum sin has made, a sea that has no bottom nor shore. The blood of Jesus whispers it within; no slander can drown that still small voice.

You cry for a hedge of protection and a wall of fire, and you do well, for the promise is sure: “He shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.” But mark the condition, in all your ways. What are those ways? They are the footsteps of Christ, the path of childlike trust, not the way of bitter brooding or a clenched fist demanding God to seize another’s tongue. The Lord knows how to shut the lions’ mouths, as He did for Daniel, but He shut them so that Daniel might continue in blameless devotion, not so he might gloat over his accusers. Your wife needs no greater protection than to be hid in the secret place of the Most High, and you need no greater weapon than to walk in obedience. The enemy would love to see you take the field as a general commanding spiritual artillery against your own mother. Lay down that strategy. Entrust her to the God who alone can write His law upon her heart. No human hand can inscribe it there; only the finger of the new covenant can do that, turning a heart of stone to flesh.

As for unity, what a blessed hope, but what a misunderstood one! The true unity of the Spirit is not a mere domestic ceasefire. It is not found by scattering and confusing an earthly adversary as if she were the devil himself. The unity Christ prayed for is a oneness in Him, a unity in the truth of God through the Spirit of God. The world’s unity is a bundle of thorns tied together; the Church’s unity is a cluster of grapes on the true Vine. You cannot manufacture this by force of prayer that seeks to bind and silence another human soul. The architect has a plan you have not seen. This very trial, this friction that seems to wear you down to the nerve, is one of the tools by which the Divine Omnipotence is removing everything that keeps you from being truly one in Christ. It is not your job to destroy your enemies; it is your privilege to love them, and thereby heap coals of fire on their head. To love God’s law is to cease from covetousness, including the covetous desire to control and manage the other person’s spirit. It is of no use to quarrel with God by quarreling with His instruments.

Your prayer is that your mother’s tongue be held. But hear me: if you have believed, the case is already dismissed from the highest court. “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.” This is your Lord’s dismissing word over you. Go your way. Fulfill your part as a husband and a son. Do not stand in the courtyard waiting for the echo of further accusations, dissecting them for evidence of spiritual warfare. Go in peace. If you go on your way in obedience and love, you leave the Lord of all the holy angels to deal with the rest. Your joy and peace can never be obtained by work or anything from yourself, not even by the rigour of your spiritual warfare, but only by unfeigned trust in Christ. Only let your confidence be, not in your peace, not in your joy, but in Christ. He shall keep the feet of His saints. Endeavour, then, to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace by living near to Christ, for divisions never begin with those full of love to the Savior. Be filled with that love, and leave the lions, the walls of fire, and the hearts of others to Him who is the God of hope.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have asked God to shut the mouth of one made in His image, as though she were a beast, while pleading for a wall of fire around your wife. This prayer is not a fragrance but a smoke. For you seek peace by demanding that your mother be muzzled, not by seeking the conversion of hearts. If a hedge of protection is to be built, let it first be built around your own tongue and around your wife’s, that no bitter word, no rolling of the eye, no sigh of contempt escape. For nothing so builds up a household as good order and love, and their contraries tear it down.

Examine whether this prayer is not a spiritual tongue spoken without interpretation, a noise that does not build up. You ask the Lord to scatter, expose, and destroy enemies as though your mother were a demon to be cast out. But what if this conflict springs not from a spiritual enemy but from the earthly root of vainglory? A man plots against his neighbor and destroys himself first. Has your mother stolen your honor? That glory is of no account. Is your wife slighted? The injury is to the soul that slights, not to the soul that endures with meekness.

Remember the Lord’s own doing. When He hung upon the Cross, He honored His mother, committing her to the beloved disciple. He did not cry for a wall of fire against those who jeered, but held His peace. Will you now use the blood of Christ as a weapon against your own kin? The charge against you is heavier when you, claiming to know the Law of love, act as if it had no claim on you. Let your wife find her dignity in silence and subjection to godliness, not in your warring on her behalf. A quiet spirit is of great price; it will do more to quench a mother’s sharp word than a thousand shouted amens.

You desire peace and unity, yet you frame your request as a battle command. The Lord came to set a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, yes, when the conflict is for truth’s sake. But here the cause seems to be the common love of honor and the fleeting pride of this world. These are flowing waters, never stable. Today you are stung by a name; tomorrow you will be stung again if the root remains. Cut out the root of pride, and the fruit of strife withers. Go and be reconciled. Silence your own indignation before demanding that God silence another’s. That is the way to find the peace you claim to seek.

The tension you describe between your mother and your wife weighs heavily, and the cry for a hedge of protection and a wall of fire reveals a heart that understands the spiritual dimensions of such conflict. That kind of turmoil does not come down from above. The wisdom that is from God is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated. It leads to peace and it makes peace. When strife rises through cutting words or put-downs, it sows discord, not the fruit of righteousness. So you are right to plead the blood of Jesus over your wife and to ask the Lord to shut the mouth that speaks against her.

Your request echoes the deep biblical truth that a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife. This does not dishonor a parent, but it does establish a new priority and a new boundary. The bond between a husband and wife is a covenant made before God, and any words that strike against that union strike against something God Himself has joined together. When the Scriptures warn a man about being trapped by the words of his own mouth or being ensnared by the speech of others, it applies here. You are asking the Lord to guard your household from words that wound and from any spirit that would use a family member to bring division. That is a godly plea.

We see a beautiful picture in the devotion of Ruth to Naomi. A bond of love and loyalty formed between a daughter-in-law and a mother-in-law that defied cultural expectation and grief. It was a bond of family loyalty that ultimately brought provision and redemption through Boaz. But notice how that loyalty worked: Boaz did not neglect his duty to protect and provide for Ruth. He acted decisively to redeem her and make her his wife, building a new household that carried on the family name. Peace and unity are not found by letting harmful words fly unchecked. They are found when a husband, like a redeemer, steps in to shield his wife and insist on honor within the family.

There is a heavenly order that must govern earthly families. Loving the Lord more than mother, father, or wife is not a call to hate, but a call to put every relationship under the lordship of Christ. When He is first, the marriage bed is honored, the tongue is guarded, and the home becomes a place where the wisdom from above rules. This allows you to enjoy the relationship with your wife as your own cistern, a well of living water from which your legitimate fountains flow abroad, without the pollution of outside strife draining your strength.

So stand firm. Keep praying that the Lord would deliver your wife from every devouring word, that He would confuse and scatter every spiritual enemy assigned against your marriage. As you walk in this, ask Him to give you the words that build up rather than tear down, and to grant your mother a quieted spirit. God has made peace with you through the blood of His Son. That same reconciling power can make a way where there seems to be no way, creating the peace and unity you long to see. May the Lord put a guard over your mother’s tongue, may He cause His face to shine upon your wife, and may He establish your household as a testament to His redeeming love. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
