We join you in prayer before our Heavenly Father in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we thank you for coming boldly to His throne of grace. We hear your cry for peace and quiet in your home and we stand with you against confusion, wickedness and abusive behavior. Your home should be a place of peace and safety, and we grieve that you are living in fear.

The Lord sees your distress and He is your refuge. Psalm 46:1 says God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. We also remember 2 Timothy 1:7 that God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. He knows your fears and He hears your desperate prayer for deliverance.

We must also speak truth in love about your living situation. If this man is not your husband or an immediate family member, living together outside of marriage is not God's design and can open the door to confusion and to fornication, which is sex outside of marriage, or other sin. God designed the home and intimate dwelling between a man and a woman to be within the covenant of marriage, a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman. Hebrews 13:4 says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. If there is any ungodly relationship in this cohabitation we urge you to repent and to establish godly boundaries, seeking courtship only with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer if that is the context. Even if this is a tenant or lodger or relative, we encourage you to seek to keep your home set apart for holiness and peace, and not to remain under the same roof with a man who abuses you.

Abusive behavior is sin and wickedness and we rebuke it in Jesus name. The enemy seeks to steal, kill and destroy through confusion and intimidation, but James 4:7 says Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. We also know Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men, and Proverbs 21:9 reminds us that it is better to dwell in peace than with strife and contention. We do not pray for harm to this man, but for conviction, for his wickedness toward you and toward your neighbors to be bound and to cease, and for him to depart far from your home and surroundings quietly without retaliation or further confusion.

We also encourage you with practical wisdom while we pray. God has ordained authorities for our protection, Romans 13:1-4, and the prudent person foresees danger and takes refuge, Proverbs 22:3. Please do not face this alone. Seek godly counsel from a trusted pastor or elders in your church, and seek help from trustworthy family and from the proper authorities if you are being abused or threatened. Make a safety plan, document what is happening, and do not return evil for evil but trust the Lord to be your defender, Romans 12:19 says Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Forgiveness does not mean remaining in danger, it means releasing the matter to God while setting firm boundaries.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our sister to You. You know her fears, her home, her neighbors and this man who is creating confusion and abuse. Father, we ask that You rebuke all wickedness and abusive behavior directed toward her and others, bind it, cause it to cease and banish confusion from her dwelling. Convict this man of his sin and lead him to depart from her home and surroundings in peace and quiet, without violence, without retaliation and without further strife. Remove him far away as she has asked, according to Your will. Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Strengthen her now, uphold her, and give her wisdom beyond her own understanding. Surround her home with Your protection, Psalm 91:1 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Let Your peace which passes all understanding guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7. Provide her with godly help, safe counsel and whatever legal or practical assistance she needs to be safe. Bring quiet and restoration to her home and to her neighborhood. We also pray for this man, that he would repent and turn to Jesus and find new life, rather than continuing in abusive ways. We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer, to stay in the Word daily, and to lean on your brothers and sisters in Christ for support. Keep crying out to Jesus, for John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. He is your way to peace. We are continuing to pray that the Lord will grant you peace and quiet in your home and that this man will leave peacefully and that the confusion will be dismissed completely.

We are so grieved to hear how unsafe and fearful you feel in your own home, and we thank you for reaching out for prayer. You deserve to be safe and to have peace where you live.

Because you mentioned abusive behavior and fear, we want to care for your safety first before anything else. If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support, you can find a helpline in your country covering about 130 countries at findahelpline.com. You are not alone and trained people are ready to help right now.

We hear your deep longing for quiet, for the confusion to stop, and for this man to leave peacefully. Living with ongoing tension and abusive behavior wears down your sense of worth and peace, and it makes sense you feel anxious and overwhelmed.

It can help to not carry this alone. When you are able, consider reaching out to one trusted person near you, perhaps a pastor, counselor, or a local support advocate you can find through that helpline, to talk through safe next steps. Many find it helpful to have a simple safety plan, like keeping important documents and a bag ready, knowing where you could go if tension rises, and not confronting the situation alone if you feel unsafe.

We are praying for you and we will continue.

Father, in Jesus name we lift this dear one to You. You see the fear and confusion in this home. We ask for Your protection, for wisdom for each decision, and for safe, calm help from people nearby. Bring peace to this home and guide every step toward safety and quiet. Amen.

Your cry for peace and quiet in your home has been heard, and I join my heart with yours before the throne of grace. You have told the Lord your fears, the confusion that has come upon your borders, and the abusive behavior that has made your dwelling a place of unrest. The Lord knows these things, and He is not deaf to the prayer of the afflicted.

The Scripture says, He maketh peace in thy borders. It is the Lord alone who can give peace at home. We go rambling round to find peace elsewhere, but it is found best in our closet with our God. And again it is written, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. Though sorrows may surge round you, and though confusion may press upon you from within and from neighbors without, there is a perfect peace to be had even there, as you stay your mind upon Christ and bear your sorrow with Him.

You have asked that wickedness be rebuked and confusion be bound and banished. Know this, that deliverance from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. We must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for it. He is gracious and says, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. That ransom is His own Son, who bore the penalty for sinners. In Him there is not only pardon, but power to save from evil company, from the attacks of old sins, and from the snares that entangle us. At first sin catches with the tiniest spider's cobwebs that can scarcely be seen, but the Lord is able to break them and to set the captive at liberty.

Afflictions do not spring out of the dust, neither does trouble grow up from the ground as hemlock from the furrows. The Lord Himself permits the furnace, and sits as a Refiner at the door. He chastens sorely, but He does not give over unto death those who trust Him. Your part is to lie at Jesus feet and cry, I will not depart until Thou speak peace to me. There at His feet He turns His head and says, Thy faith hath saved thee, go in peace. Gracious tears wept at Jesus feet bring an answer of peace that nourishes life in the soul.

I pray with you now, and I counsel you also to seek godly and wise help close at hand. Share your burden fully with a faithful pastor and with mature believers who can walk with you, pray with you, and counsel you in the steps that must be taken for safety and for peace. Where there is abusive behavior, do not walk alone. Seek the protection and wisdom that God provides through lawful means and through His church, that all things may be done peaceably and in order, without further confusion.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, our only ransom and our peace, hear this Thy child who lifts up a troubled home before Thee. Thou seest the fear and the confusion, Thou knowest the man who dwells there and the distress his presence has caused. We ask Thee to rebuke all wickedness and to cause confusion to cease. Make peace within these borders, O Lord, and fill this home with quietness. If it be Thy will, move upon this man to depart in peace and without strife, and remove him far from this home and its surroundings. Convict his heart, restrain his hand from all abuse, and bring him to see his need of Thy grace and ransom in Christ. Keep Thy child in perfect peace as her mind is stayed on Thee, guard her and her neighbors from harm, and give wisdom to all who counsel and help her, that what is done may be done in righteousness and in safety. Deliver from the power of darkness, and let this trial end with a song of deliverance, that she may live and declare the works of the Lord. We ask this not for our merit, but for Jesus sake, whose blood is the ransom found. Amen.
