Sometimes it feels as though they are choking me and I cannot see a way out. My brother and I are both blessed with jobs and we work, yet our money does not seem to remain with us. After meeting our responsibilities, there is so little left, and we are struggling to clear the debts that already exist. Jesus, please have mercy on me and my brother ###. Lord, please go before us and level every mountain standing in our way. Where I cannot see a solution, please make a way. Give us wisdom and discipline to manage our finances properly and help us make good decisions with the money we earn. Father, You know that I do not want to hold on to anyone else's money. If selling this property will help me clear my debts and bring stability into my life, please make a way where I currently cannot see one. Jesus, I am not asking for riches. I am asking for freedom from this financial burden. I want to pay what I owe. I want to live without constantly worrying about debt. I want my brother and me to be able to enjoy the fruit of our hard work and have peace in our hearts. from childhood we have been at the mercy of others. Please protect our jobs and our income. Bless the work of our hands. Teach us to manage what we have wisely and show us where our money is going. Help us to stop anything that is unnecessarily draining our finances. Please go before me, Lord. Level the mountains before me and my brother. Please have mercy upon our situation and give us the wisdom, opportunities and strength to become free from debt. I place my finances, my debts, my job, my brother, my cousin, my room and my property in Goa completely into Your hands. Jesus, please make a way for us.

We join with you in bringing this tired, worried and burdened heart before the Lord, for He sees all that you and your brother are carrying. We hear your honesty about feeling choked by debt and unable to see a way out, and we stand with you to ask for His mercy, wisdom and provision.

The Lord invites us to cast our cares on Him because He cares deeply for us. 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you, and Philippians 4:6-7 tells us in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We thank God that you and your brother have jobs and that you desire to honor Him with what you earn, even when so little remains after your responsibilities are met.

We commend your desire to repay what you owe, especially the debt to your cousin that has remained for five years and has wounded that relationship. Scripture is clear that honoring our debts matters to God. Psalm 37:21 says the wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously, and Romans 13:8 says owe no one anything, except to love one another. Your troubled conscience about this debt is a sign of integrity, and God honors a heart that wants to do what is right. We encourage you while you wait for full provision to humble yourself and reach out to your cousin again, even with a small step, to let him know you have not forgotten, to ask forgiveness for the delay, and to communicate your intention to repay as God provides. Honest, humble communication can begin to heal what silence has broken, and the Lord can soften hearts on both sides.

We also see your practical needs and bring them before the Father. For the room in your flat in the UK, we pray God will bring a trustworthy, peaceful and responsible tenant if it is His will, and for the flat in Goa, we pray He will open the right door for a fair and smooth sale at the right time if selling is the wise path to bring stability and freedom from debt. We pray for wisdom and discipline to manage well what God has already placed in your hands. Proverbs 21:5 teaches the plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty. We encourage you to seek godly counsel, to keep a simple written budget so you can see where your money is going, to distinguish needs from wants, and to faithfully steward the fruit of your hard work while trusting God for increase. Matthew 6:33 reminds us but seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be added to you, and Philippians 4:19 assures us my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. He is not asking you to move every mountain in one day, but to walk faithfully one step at a time as He goes before you. Isaiah 45:2 says I will go before you, and make the rough places smooth.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother and his brother to Your throne of grace. You know their financial situation, every debt, every responsibility, every fear, even the things they cannot explain to anyone. Lord, have mercy on them. You see how overwhelmed they feel and how their money seems to slip away even as they work diligently. Grant them wisdom and discipline to manage their finances properly, to make good decisions, and to stop anything that is unnecessarily draining what You have provided. Protect their jobs and bless the work of their hands. Give them opportunities and strength to become free from debt, not for riches but for freedom to honor You, to pay what they owe, and to have peace in their hearts after so many years at the mercy of others.

Lord, we place the debt to their cousin before You. Forgive any failure and provide the means to repay in full and to honor what is owed. Heal that relationship that has grown silent and distant. Soften both hearts, restore trust, and let honesty and grace rebuild what has been broken. Give our brother courage to communicate with humility and love.

We place the room in the UK flat into Your hands. If it is Your will, bring the right tenant, someone trustworthy, peaceful and responsible, and let that income help meet commitments and reduce debts. We place the flat in Goa into Your hands. Open the right door, bring the right buyer at the right time, and allow the sale to happen fairly and smoothly if this is Your best way to bring stability. Where they cannot see a solution, make a way. Go before them and level every mountain standing in their way. Let this difficult season come to an end, so that one day they may look back and thank You because debts have been paid, relationships healed, provision made, and peace restored. Teach them to encourage and support one another and to walk in unity as brothers. Guard their hearts from fear and remind them daily of Your care. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, our provider and our peace, amen.

We encourage you to keep thanking God for His daily provision, to remain faithful in small steps, to keep communication open with your cousin and with your brother, and to trust that God who sees your desire to do right will be faithful to guide you. He who has kept you through childhood and through these years of struggle will not forsake you now.

We hear how heavy this has felt for you, carrying these debts for so long and wanting so much to do what is right before God and before your cousin. It makes sense that you feel choked by it, especially when you and your brother are working faithfully and still seeing so little left after your responsibilities.

We are praying with you for wisdom and steadiness in this season, not to fix everything at once but to take the next faithful steps as God provides.

One thing that often helps when money feels like it is slipping away is to sit down together, you and your brother, and write out simply what comes in, what must go out, and what is owed and to whom. Seeing it clearly can show where money is going and help you make a calm plan. Many people in this kind of pressure also find it helpful to talk with a reputable financial counselor or a consumer credit counseling service in the UK who can help set up a realistic repayment plan and reestablish a healthy balance between income and debt. You do not have to carry the planning alone.

For your cousin, even a short, honest note to let him know you have not forgotten and you still intend to repay can help keep the door open for healing while you work toward that goal.

Father, we lift this brother and his brother to You, their work, their debts, the room to rent and the flat in ###. Give them wisdom, discipline and peace as they steward what You have provided, and make a way for what is owed to be honoured. Bring trustworthy people across their path and guard their jobs and their relationship. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard with much tenderness and care, and your burden has been laid before the Lord who sees all that you carry. You have spoken honestly of debts that feel as though they are choking you, of work that does not seem to remain as provision, of a troubled conscience toward your cousin, and of the daily anxieties concerning your brother, your room in the United Kingdom and your flat in Goa. The Lord knows these things, even those you cannot explain to any other heart, and He invites the weary and heavy laden to come to Christ for rest.

It is right and good that your desire is not for riches but for freedom from this burden, that you may pay what you owe and live with a clear conscience and a peaceful heart. Scripture teaches that all we have is not our own but our Master's, and we are stewards entrusted for a time with time, talents, and substance. The Word says, Give an account of your stewardship. This is a reasonable and searching demand, and it is also a mercy, for it calls us to look soberly at what has been entrusted to us, to labor faithfully and not to trifle or grow careless, but to keep our hearts in our work and to seek wisdom from above. Wisdom is man's true path and the compass by which he must steer across the waste of life, and its price is above rubies. It is not found in our own strength or understanding, for even the strong as a lion may not know the way of wisdom, but it is found in Christ, who is the power of God and the wisdom of God, and in reverent trust in His name.

Therefore we will pray for you and your brother that the Lord will have mercy upon you and make a way where you see no way. We ask Him to level the mountains before you, to protect your jobs and bless the work of your hands, and to grant you both wisdom and holy discipline to manage what He provides. May He teach you to see where your money goes, to turn from all that unnecessarily drains what He has given, and to order your household with faithfulness, so that your stewardship may be to His honor and to your own peace. The Lord loves an honest purpose to repay what is owed, and we pray that He will in His providence supply the means to clear the debt to your cousin which has weighed upon you for five years. We ask Him to heal that breach, to soften hearts, to keep you from shame and your cousin from hardness, and to restore such understanding between you that the debt may be discharged with integrity and love. A man may in due season discharge what was remitted, and how much more should we who have been forgiven an unpayable debt of sin by the blood of the covenant seek to act uprightly toward our neighbor and our brother.

We also bring before Him the room you seek to let and the property in Goa you desire to sell. If it be His will and for your good, we ask Him to bring a trustworthy, peaceful and responsible tenant, and to open the right door for a fair and smooth sale at the right time to the right buyer. We do not ask Him to grant these things merely to ease the present distress, but that you may be set free to serve Him without distraction, to enjoy the fruit of honest labor, and to be a helper to others who are in need. Remember that true freedom is not wrought by earthly power but by grace alone through the blood of the covenant, and where that freedom comes, the soul is free indeed even while burdens remain. Christ proclaims liberty, and justice and mercy together secure it for those who trust Him.

Take heart, and do not think you must overcome every mountain in one day. Walk step by step in the way of wisdom, trusting God and doing what is right with what you have today. Keep careful account, pray over every decision, seek godly counsel where you can, labor diligently, and cast your care upon Him who cares for you. He who built the heavens by wisdom is able to guide you in these smaller matters of rent and sale and debt, for there is none like Him for goodness and love, and what He does is always best.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, You know the debts, the fears, the responsibilities and the hidden sorrows of Your servants. Have mercy upon these two brothers. Go before them and make the rough places plain. Grant them wisdom which is above rubies, a spirit of discipline and self control, and faithfulness as stewards of all You have entrusted to them. Provide for their daily bread, protect their employment, and bless the work of their hands. Make a way for the debt to the cousin to be honorably repaid, and heal that relationship by Your grace. In Your will bring the right tenant and, if it be for their good and Your glory, the right buyer, and let all be done honestly and peaceably. Above all, keep them trusting in Christ alone for salvation, for there is no other name by which we must be saved, and let this season of trial end in a testimony of Your faithfulness, that they may look back and thank You for deliverance. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our wisdom, our righteousness and our peace. Amen.
