We join with you in prayer and we hear the weight of what you are carrying, the burden of debt, the pressure of legal notices, the struggle to pay rent and provide for your family, and the fear that comes when there seems to be no way forward. We bring your request before our Father together and we stand with you asking for His mercy, provision, and wisdom.
We are encouraged that you have asked for forgiveness and for wisdom, discipline and courage to handle what you owe responsibly. The Word tells us that the wicked borrow, and do not pay back, but the righteous give generously Psalm 37:21, and we are to owe no one anything, except to love one another Romans 13:8. This reminds us that God desires not only to provide for our needs but to help us walk in honesty and faithfulness with what we owe. The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit, and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty Proverbs 21:5. We pray that God will give you that diligence, to steward what little you have with care, to make a budget, to seek wise and godly counsel, to communicate honestly with those you owe and with your landlord, and to be faithful in the work He provides.
We also hear your heart for a stable income and for a suitable remote job to support yourself and your family. We pray for open doors of provision, for favour with employers and with those who hold your debts, and for guidance in each step. Our God knows our needs. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. Yet He also calls us to seek Him first. But seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you Matthew 6:33. When anxiety rises, remember His promise, Do not be anxious for your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink, nor yet for your body, what you will wear Matthew 6:25, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things Matthew 6:32. He invites the weary to come to Him, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28, and He promises, Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
We notice that your prayer speaks of Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is through Jesus that your sins are forgiven and your prayers are heard.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You are merciful and gracious, that You forgive when we confess our sins, and that You are our provider and shepherd. We lift up this dear one to You who is overwhelmed by debt and unable to meet basic needs. Lord, have mercy and forgive mistakes of the past, wash away guilt through the blood of Jesus, and grant peace that passes understanding. We ask You to open doors of provision that no man can shut, to provide a stable source of income and the right opportunities, including the suitable remote job that has been asked for, so that rent can be paid, family can be supported, and debts can be repaid faithfully and responsibly. Grant wisdom to make right decisions, discipline to steward finances well, and courage to face creditors and legal matters with honesty and humility. Give favour with the right people, guide each step, and keep this heart from losing hope. Help us to remember that You work all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28, and that this difficult season can become a testimony of Your faithfulness, grace and provision. Strengthen faith to trust You daily for daily bread, and help us to be diligent in work, for if anyone will not work, neither let him eat 2 Thessalonians 3:10. Provide daily needs and teach us to be content and faithful with what You supply. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope, amen.
We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to be faithful in small things, to seek practical help from a trusted pastor or wise financial counselor in your community, and to keep doing honest work with your hands as God opens opportunity. God is faithful, He sees your family, He sees your rent and your debts, and He will not forsake those who trust in Him.
