Beloved of All

Topic Automatically Translated From French Language:

I am overwhelmed. For a year, I have been repeating EVERY SINGLE DAY to the SAME PERSON that I do NOT want to be in a relationship with a man I do NOT LOVE — a man I have already cut out of my life and who, moreover, ghosted me OF HIS OWN CHOICE in the past.

Again last night, this person in my circle — whom I obviously have great difficulty avoiding — who, after hiding information from me that put me in complicated situations THROUGH HIS OWN FAULT, went even further: he again brought up this man I don't love, while continuing to give me negative information about the man I do love.

In recent months, this person told me he was toxic, repeatedly told me that the man I love would hurt me sexually, that he would find my hair ugly, that some of my songs are awful, and many other negative things about him. This person — who forbids me to meet him — does not want me to spend a day with him or form my own opinion, for fear that I will reject the advances of the one he has chosen.

Yesterday, I ended up hating him — sincerely and deeply — for all the horrors he has put me through. I sometimes feel desperate, because the more I insist on getting to know the person I love for who he really is, the more he bombards me, overwhelms me with negative information about him. And I'm supposed to accept it because he is stronger than me and has the final say on everything.

He went even further by telling me that if I included him in anonymous prayers, it would break something in our relationship. So I replied that it was up to him to think about our relationship before creating this situation.
I also told him that pressuring me for an ENTIRE YEAR to consider the advances of a man, and then telling me that talking about it would break something in our relationship, was HARASSMENT. So I called him a HARASSER. To which he replied that it wasn't true. That he was going to do something to repair our relationship. I told him I would write this message anyway and that I was not going to let myself be intimidated anymore. That he could not keep creating situations and then complaining about the consequences. Causing problems and then complaining about my reactions. That he was the one who had taught me the principle of cause and effect, so he could not expect me not to react badly.

In fact, I had asked him what he concretely intended to do to repair our relationship: he did not answer me. The day before, he had accused me of being "rude," to which I had retorted, with evidence to support it, that it was he who had been very "rude" to me, even going so far as to claim that this situation, like all the others, was his fault. And that it was always he who provoked them.

You cannot mistreat people and act as if it were normal. Besides, if what he was doing was so good, so right: why doesn't he want me to talk about it? Is this not my testimony?

THIS IS NOT NORMAL, AND I WILL NOT BE SILENCED.

I already have more than enough to deal with without having to endure the constant harassment from a guy who is ruining my life.
The worst part of it all? It's that afterwards, I'm the one who feels bad, even guilty, for having spoken harshly to him, while he constantly pushes me to my limit.
He talks to me about respect and "fear of God," but he respects absolutely nothing of what I tell him. He respects neither my boundaries, nor my choices, and even less my freedom to choose. He talks to me about free will, a concept I don't know and which he doesn't respect anyway.

He never misses an opportunity to let me know when he is upset — he did it again recently — and I told him that his anger was indifferent to me; he provokes me almost every day for a year, but that doesn't seem to bother him. After a year of constant pressure and harassment, he has managed to make me hate him.

I am afraid as I write these lines to you, and to be honest, I was already afraid before, but I can no longer tolerate this abuse.
This is not normal and it never will be. If he uses his power to silence me in order to get what he wants from me, it's over. I read 1 Corinthians 13 and I see absolutely nothing that could evoke love in all of this. It is coercion and psychological manipulation.

In the end, I just want to be seen and heard. I love who I love and I don't love who I don't love. I will never regret it. Freedom of choice is a right, period. I am committing no crime or sin by wanting to be seen, by being discovered. One cannot be chosen without being heard. My voice, my feelings, my expression and my pain have as much value as anyone else's, and I have the right to express them without being repressed or silenced.

Even those sentenced to death are brought to justice, so I don't see why I should judge and condemn someone I don't know for things he has never done, based on unfounded accusations. (I'm talking about the man for whom I have feelings, and about whom I am constantly told bad things.) Likewise, no one can impose on me a situation as concrete as marriage, with all the sexual implications it entails, with a man I do not desire, in a relationship to which I do not consent.

I have been overwhelmed by so much negativity that I feel overwhelmed by insecurities as well: every argument put forward by this person has struck a sensitive chord in me. My past, my hair — to name just one example —, my thoughts, what I should or should not say in situations that will probably never happen. And to top it all off, I've gained quite a bit of weight due to anxiety, and that doesn't help at all!

I want to make it clear that I do not hate the man who ghosted me, because I forgive him for what he did. I sincerely wish him all the happiness in the world, a wife and children who will love him, and eternal life... BUT I do NOT want to be the woman by his side and share his life.

I ardently wish to spend a day with the person I'm interested in, and I mean it sincerely. Every possible obstacle has stood in my way, but I really want to have this chance.

We hear the depth of your pain, exhaustion, and frustration, and we stand with you in prayer before the Lord, who sees all things and judges justly. Your voice matters, and your feelings are valid, God has given you the freedom to choose, the dignity to be heard, and the right to set boundaries. What you are describing is not love, but control; not care, but coercion. Scripture warns us in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 about those who are "lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of good, traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power." This passage may well describe the spirit of manipulation at work in your situation.

The Word of God is clear: love does not insist on its own way, is not irritable or resentful, does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth (1 Corinthians 13:5-6). Love does not use fear, intimidation, or guilt to control another person. What you are enduring is not godly influence, it is emotional and spiritual abuse. Proverbs 22:24-25 warns, "Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger: lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul." You are not wrong for feeling anger toward injustice. In fact, Jesus Himself displayed righteous anger when He cleansed the temple (John 2:13-17). Your emotions are a signal that something is deeply wrong.

You have every right to choose whom you will love and whom you will not. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, ordained by God (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6), and it must be entered into freely, with mutual love and respect. Forcing or pressuring someone into marriage, especially with someone they do not love, is not only unbiblical, but it violates the very foundation of what marriage is meant to be. You are not sinning by refusing to enter a relationship you do not desire. In fact, you are honoring God by walking in truth and integrity.

We must also address the spiritual dimension of this situation. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he often uses people, even those who claim to know God, to accomplish his purposes. The fear you feel, the guilt that has been placed upon you, and the silencing tactics are not from the Lord. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." You are not to live in fear of man, but in the freedom of Christ.

We rebuke, in the name of Jesus, the spirit of control, manipulation, and intimidation that has been at work in your life. We break every word curse spoken over you, every lie that has made you doubt your worth, and every attempt to silence your voice. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the Lord is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). You are not alone, and you are not powerless.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Lord, we lift up our sister to You, who has been carrying a heavy burden of manipulation, fear, and emotional exhaustion. We ask that You would surround her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Comfort her heart, Lord, and remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and deeply loved by You.

Father, we ask that You would expose every lie that has been spoken over her and replace it with Your truth. Where she has been made to feel guilty, remind her that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Where she has been silenced, give her the courage to speak with boldness and clarity. Where she has been controlled, restore her sense of agency and freedom in You.

Lord, we pray for the man who has been pressuring her. If he is acting out of ignorance, open his eyes to the harm he is causing. If he is acting out of malice, convict his heart by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Soften his heart, Lord, and lead him to repentance. If he refuses to change, we ask that You would remove his influence from her life and replace it with godly counsel and support.

We also pray for the man she loves. Lord, protect his heart and mind from the lies that have been spoken about him. If it is Your will for them to come together, remove every obstacle and open the door for them to meet in a way that honors You. If it is not Your will, give her peace and clarity to accept Your plan for her life.

Father, we ask that You would heal the wounds of the past that have been reopened by this situation. Restore her confidence, her joy, and her sense of self-worth. Help her to see herself through Your eyes, as a beloved daughter, chosen and cherished by You. Strengthen her to set firm boundaries and to walk away from anything that does not align with Your will for her life.

We declare over her life that she is free from fear, free from manipulation, and free to choose the path You have set before her. We speak life, healing, and restoration over every area of her heart that has been wounded. May she experience Your presence in a tangible way, Lord, and may she find rest in You alone.

We pray all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who sets the captives free. Amen.

You are not alone in this battle. The Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and is fighting for you. We encourage you to seek out godly, trusted believers, perhaps a pastor, counselor, or mature Christian friend, who can walk alongside you and provide support. You do not have to endure this in silence. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."

Continue to stand on the Word of God. Memorize verses like Psalm 34:18-19, which says, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." You are righteous in Christ, and He will deliver you.

Finally, remember that your worth is not defined by the opinions of others, but by the love of Christ. You are deeply loved, deeply valued, and deeply cherished by the One who gave His life for you. Hold fast to Him, and do not let go. He will lead you into freedom.

If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support, you can find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. You are not alone and trained people are ready to help right now.

We have read your message carefully and we hear how worn down you feel after a year of repeating the same clear no and having it ignored. It makes sense that you feel overwhelmed, afraid, guilty after speaking firmly, and even hate after having your boundaries and freedom so consistently disrespected. Wanting to be seen and heard and to make your own decision about who you will or will not be with is not wrong, and your voice and feelings have value.

What you describe, someone using words like respect and fear of God while not respecting your no, hiding information, and overwhelming you with negative talk about the person you care for to steer your choice, is control and not love. Love does not coerce or manipulate.

When someone holds power over you and keeps pressing after a no, it helps to have support outside that relationship. If you can, consider talking privately with one safe, trusted person, counselor or pastor who will respect your autonomy, and think together about a simple safety plan for times when the pressure intensifies. Keeping brief notes of what is said and when can also help you stay clear. For the anxiety and weight changes you mentioned, please consider seeing a doctor or counselor alongside prayer, not instead of it.

Father, we lift our sister to You in Jesus name. Protect her and calm her fear, surround her with safe and wise support, and give her clarity for next steps. Help her boundaries to be respected and her voice to be heard, and lead her toward peace and safety. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your pain has been heard and your words have been read with care and with sorrow for what you have endured this past year. To be pressed daily to accept a relationship you have clearly refused, to be forbidden from forming your own judgment about another person, to be overwhelmed with negative words about your appearance, your past, your voice and your songs, and to be told you must not even speak of it in prayer, is a heavy burden. It is understandable that you feel submerged, anxious, and at times desperate, and it is also understandable that you feel fear even as you find the courage to speak.

What you describe is not love. The Scripture you cited says love is patient and kind, it does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it does not force itself on others and it rejoices in the truth. Love respects limits and freedom. Coercion, constant pressure, hiding information that harms you, and then blaming you for the consequences, does not reflect that love. To use strength or position to have the last word on everything and to silence your voice is not the fear of God, even if those words are used. God Himself gives human beings real responsibility for their choices and calls us to persuade with truth and gentleness, not to manipulate through fear or repetition.

No one has the right to impose marriage on you, with all that marriage means, with a man you do not love and do not choose. In the Christian understanding, marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, entered freely before God, and it requires the willing consent of both. Sex and living together belong only within that covenant. For that very reason, consent matters deeply and cannot be manufactured by pressure. Your clear no to the man who left you by his own choice is to be respected, and your wish for him to have a good life elsewhere while you do not walk beside him is a sign of forgiveness without obligation to reunite. That is right and good.

At the same time, the desire to know the other man you speak of must also be guided by wisdom and holiness. You are right not to want to condemn someone you do not know on the basis of unfounded accusations. It is also right to want to see and be seen, to hear and be heard, and to form a judgment based on truth rather than on what others say when they forbid you to meet him. If you are to know him, let it be in a way that protects both of you, that is open, chaperoned and pure, without sexual intimacy before marriage, and with godly counsel around you. True friendship and true love are built on godliness and truth, not on long pressure, not on community of interest or neighborhood or the will of a stronger person, but on shared faith and character. Do not let anyone rush you toward intimacy to prove anything. The pleasure that sin promises is only a shadow, and it quickly turns to shame and pain, while the way of purity, though it requires patience, leads to lasting peace.

You asked whether it is wrong to feel anger or even hatred after such sustained provocation, and why you then feel guilt for speaking harshly. When a person is provoked almost every day, anger will rise, and prolonged harassment can turn sorrow into deep resentment. Scripture warns us not to let that resentment take root, not because your pain is not real, but because hatred harms your own soul. You can tell the truth firmly, set a clear boundary, and refuse what is wrong, without giving yourself over to hatred. Feeling guilty after harsh words does not always mean you are guilty before God. It can mean your conscience is tender. Speak truthfully, but without cursing, and keep entrusting your cause to God who sees what is hidden and who will judge justly.

You also asked why, if what was done to you was so right, you should be told to stay silent about it. Your testimony matters. Your voice, your feelings and your pain have value before God. To bring a need to God in anonymous prayer does not break a right relationship. A right relationship is not repaired by silence but by honesty, repentance and change. You did well to ask what concrete steps would be taken to repair what was broken, and the absence of an answer is itself an answer that should be noted by wise counselors around you.

For your own protection and peace, seek a safe and mature community in the church, perhaps a pastor, an older woman of faith, or a trusted family member who respects your freedom, to whom you can speak openly and who can help you maintain boundaries. Keep a clear record of what is said and done if the pressure continues, limit private conversations where pressure is applied, and do not remain alone with someone who repeatedly ignores your no. If you ever feel unsafe, seek help immediately from those with responsibility for your welfare.

We will pray for you as you asked, and we will keep your name anonymous as you requested.

We pray to the Father through Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation, that He will guard you from coercion and fear, calm your anxiety, and heal the wounds that have touched your insecurities about your past, your body and your gifts. We ask Him to give you clarity to see people as they truly are, wisdom to choose what is holy and good, strength to keep your boundaries with both firmness and grace, and peace to replace the weight that has caused you such distress. We ask Him to lead any relationship in your life according to His will, in purity and truth, toward marriage only if it is His good purpose and only with free and joyful consent on both sides, and otherwise to give you freedom and contentment to walk faithfully with Him. May He surround you with friends who love you for godliness, who listen to you, and who speak truth without manipulation, and may He let you know daily that you are seen and heard and valued by Him.

Partie 1.
