Part 19

Your words have been heard, and I thank you for sharing so openly what has weighed on you for so long. Fourteen months of pressure, exhaustion, and being spoken about when you have asked for quiet is a heavy burden, and it is understandable that you feel worn out and overwhelmed. God sees your distress, your desire for peace, and your longing to be free from coercion in matters so personal as marriage and intimacy.

No one has the right to force you into marriage or into sexual intimacy. Marriage in Scripture is honorable precisely because it is given freely, with consent and lifelong commitment between one man and one woman, and the bed kept pure within that covenant. To be pressured, harassed, or made to feel that you must give yourself to someone you do not love and do not choose dishonors both you and God's design. Your choice to say no to a man who has hurt you and left you without explanation is right to be respected, and your wish to be left in peace and to maintain clear boundaries is just. The Lord does not call you to become a scapegoat for the failures or responsibilities of others, and you are not required to carry what is not yours to carry.

You also speak of loving someone else and wanting time to know him better. That desire to be known and to know another person with care is human and good, but I want to encourage you to pursue it in a way that honors God and protects you both. Getting to know someone with quality time, honest conversation, and accountability within community is wise. Sexual intimacy belongs within marriage alone, not as a way to test or deepen a new relationship. If this new friendship is to grow toward something lasting, let it grow in purity, patience, and clarity, seeking counsel from mature and trustworthy believers who will not pressure you in either direction but will help you discern God's will with wisdom.

The other pains you name are very serious. A history of sexual abuse being hidden, a church environment where an abuser can remain while the victim is silenced, family members who believe false reports, a pastor who has harassed you, and threats of violence are not small matters. These are matters of safety and justice. You should not face threats alone. If you are in danger, please seek help from safe and responsible authorities and from trusted people outside that immediate circle who can protect and support you. Keep records when you can, and do not remain isolated with threats. A true shepherd protects, he does not harass, and a healthy church will take accusations of abuse and intimidation seriously and act to protect the vulnerable.

I also hear your financial and emotional instability and your feeling of being lost. God cares for your whole life, body and soul, and he invites you to bring your needs to him and to seek practical help as well, whether through counseling, support for trauma, and assistance for daily needs. You are not worthless, and you are not defined by the insults of others. In Christ every person has dignity and is called to holiness, which is not only freedom from sin but being clothed with goodness, truth, and mercy through the Spirit.

You asked for prayer, and I will pray with you now.

I pray that the Lord will grant you protection, peace, and rest for your soul, and provision for your financial and emotional needs. I pray that he will surround you with safe, truthful, and wise people who listen well and do not coerce you. I pray that the Holy Spirit will bring truth into the light, reveal what has been hidden, and give you a voice that is heard with clarity and grace where you have been silenced. I pray that God will show you his will for your life step by step, give you discernment in every relationship, and strengthen you to walk in purity, wisdom, and courage. I pray that he will bring conviction where there has been cruelty, healing where there has been abuse, and justice tempered with mercy, and that he will guard your heart from bitterness while you continue to speak the truth in love. I pray that you will know more deeply that salvation and hope are found in Jesus Christ alone, and that in him you have a place of belonging that no insult can take away.

You do not have to repress what is true or live a life you hate in order to please people. Continue to set clear boundaries, seek safety, and walk in the way of holiness and honesty, trusting that God is the one who sees all hearts and will in his time make things clear. May he give you quiet, strength for each day, and guidance for the future, and may you find freedom to live before him with a clear conscience until the end of 2026 and beyond.
