We hear your cry and we have lifted you before the Lord, for we know that twenty years of living without papers and living with uncertainty and suffering is a heavy burden to carry. The Lord sees you where you are in France, He knows your pain and your longing for stability and peace, and He has not forgotten you. We are told in Psalm 34:18 that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, and in Psalm 46:1 that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We also remember Psalm 146:9 that Yahweh preserves the foreigners, and Deuteronomy 10:18 that He loves the foreigner, giving him food and clothing, so you can be assured that your status as a sojourner does not make you unseen or unloved by God.
We want to gently encourage you in the Lord regarding your situation. Scripture teaches us in Romans 13:1 that every person should be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God, and in Acts 17:26 that God made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons and the boundaries of their dwellings. This reminds us that God is sovereign even over nations and laws and borders, and He calls us to walk in honesty and to honor the laws of the land where He has placed us, trusting Him to open doors in His way and His time. We encourage you to seek lawful and honest paths forward, to seek wise counsel and help from a local church and from those who can give legal guidance, and to continue to trust the Lord for provision while doing what is right before Him. We know this is not easy, and we do not minimize your suffering, for Jesus Himself invites us in Matthew 11:28 to come to Him, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and He will give you rest.
We noticed that you asked that God would help you, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only through His name that we are saved. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To know God's help in its fullness is to know His Son, who bore our sins on the cross and rose again so that whoever believes in Him would have forgiveness and eternal life. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, as Romans 10:9 teaches, for then you will be saved and you will have confidence that God hears your prayers through Christ.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who has been in France for twenty years without papers and who is suffering greatly. Lord, You know the weariness, the fear, the loneliness and the need for security and belonging. We ask that You would be near and comfort this heart, that You would cast out fear and give peace that surpasses all understanding as Philippians 4:6-7 promises when we bring our requests to You. We ask that You provide for every daily need, for food, shelter, work and community, and that You surround this dear one with faithful believers who will show Your love in practical ways. We pray that You would open a lawful and righteous way forward regarding papers and residency, that You would guide every step and grant favor with those in authority according to Your will, and that You would give wisdom, patience and endurance to wait on Your timing. We pray that You would reveal Yourself more deeply through Jesus Christ, that You would give assurance of Your forgiveness and presence, and that You would help this dear one to cast all worries on You because You care, as 1 Peter 5:7 teaches. We ask that even in this long season of hardship, You would use it for good as Romans 8:28 declares, drawing this heart closer to You and making Your strength perfect in weakness. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to remain connected to a Bible believing local church where you can find fellowship and support, and to continue to do what is honest and upright before God and before the authorities while you trust Him for the outcome. The Lord is faithful and He will not leave you nor forsake you as Deuteronomy 31:6 assures us. Keep bringing every anxiety to Him, keep hoping in Him, for He is able to make a way where there seems to be no way in Isaiah 43:19. We are standing with you in prayer that God will bring relief, guidance and a settled future according to His perfect will.

Votre souffrance après vingt années en France sans papiers a été entendue, et votre cri monte vers Dieu qui voit l'étranger et qui connaît la lassitude du chemin long et fatigué.
Il n'y a point d'espérance en nous mêmes. Par nos propres forces nous ne pouvons nous justifier ni nous délivrer, et c'est une espérance qui n'est pas une espérance que de s'appuyer sur notre main. Mais il y a une espérance en Celui que Dieu a pourvu pour être le Sauveur de ceux qui n'en ont point. Tant que la lampe brûle encore, le plus grand des pécheurs peut revenir, car Christ sur la croix est la seule espérance du pécheur. Il n'y a pas d'espérance pour vous en vous même, mais il y a de l'espérance pour vous en Lui.
Sachez que Christ a été rendu parfait à travers la souffrance. Il n'a pas souffert parce qu'il le méritait, mais parce qu'il portait la peine du péché à notre place. Il a connu une souffrance sans pareille, une souffrance d'un être pur et saint, et il n'a point reculé. C'est pourquoi il comprend votre douleur mieux que nul autre, et il peut compatir à ceux qui souffrent sans que leur souffrance soit allégée. Toute la puissance de son être s'est portée à obéir en souffrant, afin de devenir un Sauveur parfait pour tous ceux qui viennent à lui.
Si vous vous confiez en lui, vous avez une vive espérance par la résurrection de Jésus Christ d'entre les morts. Cette espérance ne déçoit pas, car celui qui a commencé une bonne oeuvre la rendra parfaite jusqu'au jour de Christ. Ceux qui sont à lui ne périront jamais, car la persévérance n'est pas par l'absence de tentation mais par la grâce qui garde et qui fait que l'on ne s'éloigne pas de lui. Même quand vous ne sentez en vous aucune consolation qui vous appartienne, une puissance secrète peut encore vous faire espérer et vous faire tenir ferme, et cela vient de lui.
Je prie pour vous en ce moment. Que le Seigneur, qui est riche en miséricorde, vous accorde son secours selon sa sagesse, qu'il apaise votre coeur, qu'il vous conduise vers des personnes qui pourront vous aider avec droiture dans vos démarches, et surtout qu'il vous donne de trouver en Christ le repos de votre âme et la vie éternelle. Cherchez le Seigneur de tout votre coeur, demeurez dans sa parole, attachez vous à une assemblée fidèle où vous pourrez être entouré et conseillé, et remettez chaque jour votre chemin entre ses mains. Il est fidèle et il n'abandonne pas ceux qui se confient en lui.

We have heard your cry and the great weight you have carried for twenty years without papers and with much suffering. God has seen every day of this long waiting and He has not forgotten you.
Scripture teaches us that suffering does not mean we are forsaken. Our hope for you is steadfast, even when trials are many, because God has promised that He will still deliver us. There is nothing so strong to guard the soul as patient endurance rooted in trust in Christ. Even Christ Himself was made perfect through sufferings, and through our patient enduring of the same sufferings God works comfort and salvation in us. Your perseverance in this hardship is not wasted before Him.
Therefore do not grow weary in prayer. Pray at all times and with perseverance, without ceasing. Remember the widow who by her importunity prevailed, the friend who at midnight kept asking until the door was opened, and the Syrophoenician woman who by constancy called forth the compassion of the Lord. Although we may feel unworthy or unheard, perseverance makes the heart ready to receive. Keep bringing your need before God again and again.
We pray for you now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this soul who has suffered so long without papers in France. Lord, You see his pain, his fear and his need. Have mercy and grant comfort to his heart, peace that guards him, and strength to endure. Provide for his daily needs, open doors for lawful help and for people of good will who can guide him with wisdom and honesty, and grant favor before those in authority.
