We stand with you in this moment of distress, lifting your heart and mind to the Lord who is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The Word of God tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We take hold of this promise together, believing that His peace will indeed guard your heart tonight.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your healing touch upon our dear brother/sister. Lord, You see the turmoil within their heart and mind, the fear that grips them, and the sleeplessness that weighs heavy upon them. We ask that You would calm the storm within them, replacing their anxiety with Your perfect peace. Let them feel Your presence surrounding them like a warm embrace, reminding them that they are never alone. We rebuke the spirit of fear in Jesus' name, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).
Lord, we pray that You would quiet their thoughts and still their heart. Give them the strength to cast every burden upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Help them to meditate on Your Word, to focus on Your promises, and to trust in Your unfailing love. We declare that this panic attack will not have dominion over them, for they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37).
We encourage you to speak the truth of God’s Word over yourself, even when it feels difficult. Remind yourself that God is with you, that He is your light and salvation—whom shall you fear? (Psalm 27:1). Consider playing soft worship music or reading Psalms aloud to shift your focus from fear to faith. Remember, the Lord is near to those who call upon Him in truth (Psalm 145:18).
If this anxiety persists, we also encourage you to seek godly counsel—whether through your pastor, a trusted Christian counselor, or a medical professional who honors the Lord. There is no shame in asking for help, for we are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior, Healer, and Deliverer. May His peace, which transcends all understanding, fill your heart and mind tonight and always. Amen.
