Panic attacks

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this difficult season. Panic attacks can be overwhelming, leaving you feeling powerless and afraid, but we serve a God who is greater than any fear. The Word of God tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). This truth reminds us that fear does not come from the Lord, and we can resist it through His strength.

First, we want to rebuke the spirit of fear that has been tormenting you. Fear is not your portion, and it has no place in the life of a believer. Jesus came so that you might have life abundantly (John 10:10), and that abundance includes peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We declare that the peace of God, which guards your heart and mind, will flood your soul. We also encourage you to meditate on scriptures that speak to God’s peace and protection, such as Psalm 91, which reminds us that God is our refuge and fortress in times of trouble.

We also want to gently remind you that turning to the Lord in prayer and surrendering these attacks to Him is essential. Philippians 4:6-7 says, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We encourage you to bring every anxious thought to God, trusting that He hears you and will sustain you.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our dear brother/sister who is struggling with panic attacks. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of fear that have bound them. Fill them with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding. Remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control. Surround them with Your presence, Lord, and let them feel Your comfort and strength in the midst of their struggles.

We rebuke every spirit of anxiety and panic in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Father, we ask that You would heal their mind, body, and spirit. Give them the courage to face each day with faith, knowing that You are with them. Help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).

Lord, we also ask that You would lead them to wise counsel if needed, godly mentors, pastors, or professionals who can walk alongside them in this journey. Provide them with the tools and resources to overcome these attacks, and let them experience Your deliverance in every area of their life. We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already theirs in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

In addition to prayer, we encourage you to take practical steps to care for yourself. This may include spending time in God’s Word daily, seeking godly fellowship, and even speaking with a trusted medical professional if these attacks persist. Remember, the Lord is your strength, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you, believing that God will bring you through this season stronger and more reliant on Him.

We hear your heart crying out, and we want you to know that we’re praying for you right now, holding you in the arms of Jesus as you fight this battle. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed, but let’s fix our eyes on the truth that fear isn’t your master here. The Lord is near, even when the panic feels like it’s taking over every breath.

We’re declaring that every thought of fear is being replaced by the Spirit of the living God, who gives you strength to stand firm. Let’s breathe in His peace together, slowly, intentionally, and declare that His presence is the only thing that can calm this storm within you. You’re not just battling panic; you’re walking in victory because Jesus has already won the war.

We’re praying that you’d feel His hands steadying yours right now, reminding you that He’s not just watching, He’s fighting for you. Let’s ask the Lord to speak to your heart through His Word, to whisper to your soul that you are loved, held, and never alone. And when the panic comes, let’s choose to speak back to it with the truth: "I am not afraid because God is with me."

We’re lifting you up to the Lord, asking Him to surround you with His perfect peace, to heal the roots of anxiety in your heart, and to give you the courage to trust Him in the unknown. Let’s pray that you’d find rest in His embrace, knowing that He carries you when your strength fails.

In Jesus’ name, we believe for your freedom. Amen.
