Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and we are praying for you in this season of feeling overwhelmed. It is a heavy thing to carry many troubles at once, and to feel uncertain even about where you worship, and God sees the weight you are carrying.
You are not forsaken because you are tried. Scripture shows that God often allows trials not to push His people away but to make their strength manifest and to prove what is already precious in them. Even when there seems to be no way forward, as when Israel stood between the sea and the Egyptians, God can make a path where there seems to be none. What overwhelms others like a sea can become firm ground under His hand for those who trust Him. He has promised, I will never leave you nor forsake you, so that we may boldly say, the Lord is my helper and I will not fear what man or circumstance can do.
It is also common for faithful people to feel overwhelmed by the many cares and pressures of life, as if tossed by waves. That feeling itself does not mean you have failed. The call is to hold fast your confidence and the rejoicing of your hope firm to the end, not shaken by the trials of the moment. Take time to rest in prayer, in the Scriptures, and in honest fellowship with mature believers who know you.
Regarding your doubts about your church, do not make a hasty decision while you are under such pressure, yet do not ignore the questions either. Bring them before the Lord and test them by His Word. Is the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ alone faithfully preached there. Is the Word taught truthfully and lived out with love and holiness. Is there opportunity to grow, to serve, and to be known and cared for. Seek counsel from a trusted pastor or elder, share your concerns openly, and pray for wisdom to discern whether the Lord would have you remain and help build up that body or whether He is leading you to a place where you can more faithfully walk with Him.
We pray for you now. Father, we lift up this one who feels overwhelmed by many negative things. Comfort this heart with the assurance that You never leave nor forsake Your own. Give peace that guards heart and mind in Christ Jesus, strength to bear each trial with patience, and wisdom to see Your hand at work even in hardship. Grant clarity about the church question, lead by Your Spirit and Your Word, and provide godly counsel and fellowship in the days ahead. Help this life to stand fast in You and to find rest and hope in Your promises. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.
Please continue to seek Him daily, stay rooted in Scripture and prayer, and remain connected to other believers who can walk with you. We will continue to pray for you.
