Overseas

Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for someone overseas who I have been helping financially. This person is a single parent and trying to start their own business and be a ###. I tried to help this person a lot but hit financial difficulty and now I am honestly overwhelmed with this situation in trying to help her for multiple reasons. Please pray God will provide for this person in some other way. Thank you.

We hear your heart in this request, and we join you in lifting this precious soul before the Lord. It is noble to extend help to those in need, especially a single parent striving to provide and build a future. Yet we recognize the weight of financial strain and the burden of feeling overwhelmed. Let us come before the Father together, trusting in His provision and wisdom.

First, we must acknowledge that our help, though well-intentioned, is limited, God’s is not. The Word reminds us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." This promise is not just for you, but for this dear one you are interceding for. We also take comfort in Psalm 37:25, "I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread." God sees her needs, her struggles, and her desire to provide. He is faithful to His children.

We must also gently examine our own hearts in this situation. While generosity is a fruit of the Spirit, we are called to steward our resources wisely. Proverbs 19:17 tells us, "Whoever has pity on the poor lends to the Lord; he will reward him for what he has done." Yet we must also heed the caution in 2 Thessalonians 3:10, "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither let him eat." This is not to condemn, but to encourage discernment. Is this person actively seeking God’s provision, or has dependency crept in? Are we enabling or empowering? These are hard questions, but necessary ones.

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this single parent and her children. Lord, You see their needs, financial, emotional, and spiritual. You know the desires of their heart, and we ask that You would provide for them in ways only You can. Open doors of opportunity, Father, and give them wisdom to walk through them. If there are areas where they have relied too heavily on man’s help rather than Yours, reveal that to them, and draw them closer to You.

We also lift up our brother/sister who has sought to help. Lord, they are feeling overwhelmed, and we ask that You would lighten their burden. Give them peace and clarity, and show them how to steward their resources in a way that honors You. If there is a need for boundaries, grant them the courage to set them in love. If there is a need for continued generosity, provide the means to do so without resentment or strain.

Father, we know that all good things come from You, and we trust that You will not abandon this family. Surround them with Your love, provision, and community. May they come to know You more deeply through this trial, and may their faith be strengthened as they see Your hand at work.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who gave everything so that we might have life abundantly. Without Him, we have no access to You, Father. We thank You for the gift of salvation through His sacrifice, and we ask that this dear one would come to know Him as Lord and Savior if they do not already. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s guidance in how to proceed. If you feel led to continue helping, do so with joy and without obligation. If you feel led to step back, do so with love and without guilt. Remember, Galatians 6:2 says, "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." But it also says in verse 5, "For each man will bear his own burden." There is a balance to be found, and only the Holy Spirit can guide you in that.

Lastly, we want to gently address the mention of this person being a "." If this is a reference to a profession or identity that does not align with biblical principles, we must lovingly remind you that God’s design for humanity is holy and good. We are called to pray for all people, but also to encourage them to walk in the truth of Scripture. If this is a point of concern, we urge you to pray for their heart to be aligned with God’s will, whatever that may look like.

We hear how heavy this has become for you. What began as a generous desire to help has slowly turned into a weight you were never meant to carry alone. It is not a failure of compassion to reach the end of your own resources, it is simply being human. Financial difficulty compounds everything, and when you add the concern of caring for someone’s livelihood overseas, that feeling of being overwhelmed makes complete sense to us.

You have already done the hard, good thing by naming this as more than you can sustain. Sometimes the most loving next step is to entrust the outcome to God rather than straining to fix it ourselves. Perhaps a practical step right now is to gently and honestly communicate to this person that your circumstances have changed and you can no longer provide financial help, not as a rejection, but as a simple truth. That clarity, though difficult, can free you both to look for other solutions without the added strain of unspoken expectation. It may also open space for her to seek local support networks you cannot see from a distance.

Your care for her has been real and seen by God, even if it must now take a different shape, perhaps in prayer and encouragement rather than money.

Please join us as we pray:

Father, we lift up this single parent overseas. You know her needs, for daily provision, for her business, and for the wisdom to build a stable life. Open doors we cannot see and bring help from unexpected places. And for our friend who has carried this burden so faithfully, grant peace that is deeper than the pressure. Relieve the overwhelm and replace it with trust that You are able to provide in ways beyond human effort. Give wisdom for next steps and the courage to set healthy limits. In Jesus’ name, amen.

You have need of healing, indeed! He healed them that had need of healing. Now there was need of healing here, since the disease had corrupted our essential being and rendered us hopelessly unclean. There was, indeed, great need of healing. You have need of healing, indeed!

A friend in need is a friend, indeed. Christ is the Friend of sinners in their time of need. You go and you will find his peace abounds in the hour of need. There is an old proverb which says, “A friend in need is a friend, indeed.” Christ is the Friend of sinners in their time of need.

None can keep alive his own soul. Certainly, dear Brothers and Sisters, we may be quite sure that “none can keep alive his own soul” when we remember that in the Gospel, provision is made for keeping our soul alive! The heaving lungs need their portion of air and if they cannot be satisfied, man soon becomes a corpse! Deprive us of food, leave us for a week without meat or drink, and see if we can keep our natural body alive.

How blessed is the Truth of God that our Lord Jesus will not need to bring another sacrifice at any time, for He has obtained eternal salvation through His one offering. He has not to add a single stone to the building, for the topmost pinnacle, the Lord Jesus, has brought forth with shouts of, “Grace, Grace unto it,” crying with His expiring breath, “It is finished!” There is no need for these fooleries! Christ has completed the Atonement, you need not suffer thus!

I think, dear Friends, that not only may the unconverted pick up many crumbs of comfort as they hear about the abundant provision of Divine Mercy, but that the tried people of God may also be much cheered as they think upon the greatness of the Lord’s plans for them!

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have stretched out your hand to the needy, and God receives such kindness as done to Himself. But now that your own means are strained, do not let your soul be swallowed up by this care. When prosperity is with us, we think ourselves great; when hardship comes, we would bury ourselves alive. This very feeling is both hell and a kingdom, when we are overwhelmed by such passion. The present life is but a sleep, and its anxieties are dreams that pass away. Yet the soul that dwells in prayer goes forth each day armed for the tempest. Prayer is the great weapon, and we need it early and by night, for every day the rocks are many and the heart a boat that can be shattered.

Do not make provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts, but seek only what is necessary for health. So too in almsgiving: give according to your ability, not beyond it. To exhaust yourself for another is not mercy but folly. Have vigor of soul, attend to your own first, and then commit that struggling parent to God in steadfast prayer. He who feeds the birds will not neglect her. I will pray with you, that her deliverance may come from another source, and that your own heart may find the calm that comes from casting all care upon Him.

The weight of carrying another person’s needs can be overwhelming, especially when your own resources run thin and the distance leaves you feeling powerless. Seeing a single parent strive to start a business and build a new life tugs at the heart, and your desire to help is a reflection of real compassion. Yet the pressure you feel now may be the very thing God uses to shift the burden off your shoulders and onto His, where it always belonged.

When the psalmist’s heart was overwhelmed by enemies, by betrayal, and by circumstances far beyond his control, he did not deny the heaviness. He cried out to be led to the rock that is higher than he was. That rock is God himself, our unshakable defense and the source of our salvation. Prayer does not pretend the problem is small; it refocuses our eyes on the One who is vastly greater. Right now, your own financial limits have brought you to a place where you cannot fix this alone. That is a difficult but sacred threshold, an invitation to let God show what He can do when our hands are empty.

Scripture is full of reminders that God delights in making provision where no human path remains. In the law, He gave a specific ceremony for the cleansing of a leper, an incurable disease by any natural standard, leaving explicit room for Him to work a miracle if He so chose. He is not boxed in by overseas distances, business setbacks, or your bank balance. He sees that single parent and her children. He knows their daily struggle, and He is fully able to send help from unexpected quarters, open a door of provision that you could never arrange, and sustain them in ways you have not yet imagined.

You have done what love prompted you to do, and there is no failure in reaching the end of your own ability. Let this overwhelm push you deeper into trust, not guilt. Continue lifting them before the throne, but release the outcome into God’s hands. He is a father to the fatherless and a defender of the vulnerable. Lead your heart back to that rock when it sinks, and ask Him to provide for them in some other way, just as you requested. Then watch, with hope, for the provision He will make.

We are so grateful you trusted us with this burden for your friend overseas. It is a sacred privilege to stand with you before the Father, lifting up this single parent who is working so hard to launch a business and provide for her family. We have prayed earnestly that the Lord would open doors no man can shut, that He would supply every need according to His riches in glory, and that He would give her wisdom to navigate each step with faith and courage.

If God has already moved in ways you can see—perhaps through unexpected provision, new opportunities, or peace in the midst of uncertainty—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the answer hasn’t yet come, or if the situation feels even more overwhelming, please share it again as a fresh request. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, believing that our God hears and answers.

May the Lord bless you both abundantly as you seek Him. May His peace guard your hearts, and may His provision overflow in ways that bring glory to His name. We pray this in Jesus’ mighty name.
