Disciple of Prayer
Please pray that I will overcome a soul tie to a man from my past. Pray that God will help me to fully let go of that connection and move on with my life.

We hear your heart’s cry and stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting this burden in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Soul ties, whether formed through emotional entanglement, physical intimacy, or ungodly covenants, can bind the heart long after the relationship has ended. But Scripture declares that whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). The Lord does not intend for you to remain shackled to the past, for He has plans for your future, plans for hope and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).

First, we must address the nature of this soul tie. If this connection involved sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we must call it what it is: fornication. The Word is clear, "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). Such unions create ungodly bonds that defile the temple of the Holy Spirit, which you are (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). But take heart, there is forgiveness, cleansing, and restoration in Christ. If you have not already done so, confess this sin before the Lord, repent with a sincere heart, and receive His mercy. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

Now, we rebuke every ungodly soul tie in Jesus’ name. We break every emotional, spiritual, and physical cord that has bound you to this man, declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The enemy would love to keep you in chains, whispering lies that you cannot move forward or that this connection is stronger than God’s power to sever it. But we declare that the blood of Jesus is more than enough to break every chain! "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).

We also pray for your heart to be guarded and renewed. The Word instructs us to "guard [our] hearts with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life" (Proverbs 4:23). It is time to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). When memories or emotions arise, do not entertain them. Instead, replace them with truth, God’s promises for your future, His love for you, and His desire to see you thrive. Fill your mind with Scripture, worship, and godly fellowship. "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things" (Philippians 4:8).

We encourage you to seek godly counsel if this soul tie has deep roots. Sometimes, deliverance and inner healing are necessary to fully walk in freedom. Do not hesitate to reach out to a trusted pastor, mentor, or Christian counselor who can walk alongside you in this journey. "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established" (Proverbs 15:22).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name. We thank You that You are a God who heals, restores, and sets the captives free. Lord, we lift up this dear sister to You, asking that You would break every ungodly soul tie that has bound her to this man from her past. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells her she cannot move forward or that this connection is stronger than Your power. We declare that she is free in Christ, and we command every emotional, spiritual, and physical cord to be severed now, in Jesus’ name.

Father, we ask that You would cleanse her heart from any unrighteousness and fill her with Your peace. If there has been sexual immorality, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing, knowing that the blood of Jesus washes away all sin. Renew her mind, Lord, and help her to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Replace every memory, every emotion, and every lie with Your truth. Let Your Word be a lamp to her feet and a light to her path (Psalm 119:105).

We pray for Your healing touch to mend any brokenness in her heart. Comfort her with Your presence and remind her that she is deeply loved by You. Give her the strength to walk in freedom and the wisdom to guard her heart moving forward. Surround her with godly influences, friends, mentors, and leaders who will encourage her in her walk with You.

Lord, we ask that You would prepare her for the godly spouse You have for her, if that is Your will. Let her not settle for anything less than Your best. Help her to trust in Your timing and to seek You above all else. May her heart be fully Yours, and may she walk in the fullness of the freedom You have purchased for her on the cross.

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. We declare that this soul tie is broken, and she is free to walk in the newness of life You have called her to. We seal this prayer in the precious blood of Jesus and give You all the glory, honor, and praise.

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We’re standing with you in this fight, sister, and we’re declaring right now that God is breaking every last chain that’s been holding you back. It’s not just about the past, it’s about the power of the present moment where Jesus is making all things new. We’re praying that every whisper of that man’s voice, every lingering emotion, every false memory, it’s all being drowned out by the truth of God’s love for you.

We’re asking the Holy Spirit to flood your heart with His peace, the kind that doesn’t just cover up the pain but heals it. When those thoughts come, we’re commanding them to be replaced with Scripture, like Ephesians 1:17-19, where God gives you the wisdom and revelation to know His will and the power to put it into action. You’re not just free from that soul tie, you’re being remade for His purpose.

And here’s what we’re praying for you specifically: that you’d feel the weight of His presence right now, like a shield around your heart, guarding you from the enemy’s lies. When doubt creeps in, we’re declaring that you’re His workmanship, created for good works, and nothing, nothing, can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39). You’re not stuck in the past; you’re being led into the future He’s prepared for you.

We’re also praying for practical freedom, every time you think of that man, you’d immediately redirect your mind to something that builds you up. Maybe it’s worship, maybe it’s journaling God’s promises, maybe it’s reaching out to a sister in Christ who can remind you of His truth. You’re not alone in this.

Let’s declare together: By the blood of Jesus, every soul tie is severed. By the power of the Holy Spirit, every thought is captive. By the love of the Father, every fear is replaced with peace. In Jesus’ name, we see it broken, and we live it out. Keep walking forward, He’s right there with you.
