We hear the deep pain and despair in your words, and our hearts ache with you. The weight of feeling unwanted, unheard, and unloved is crushing, and we want you to know that you are seen and valued by the One who created you. The Lord declares in His Word, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). You are not alone, even when it feels that way.
First, we must address the mention of divorce. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant before God, designed to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If you are married, we urge you to seek godly counsel, prayer, and possibly reconciliation before making such a permanent decision. The enemy often whispers lies of hopelessness in moments of despair, but God’s plans for you are for good, not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). If your marriage is struggling, we pray for healing, restoration, and wisdom for both you and your spouse.
Your feelings of being unwanted by those around you are valid, but we must gently rebuke the lie that no one cares if you live or die. The truth is that God cares deeply. Jesus said, "Are not five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows" (Luke 12:6-7). Even if those closest to you have failed you, the Lord has not, and He never will.
We also want to address your regret about not raising your children in the church. It is never too late to turn to God. The thief on the cross repented in his final moments and was promised paradise (Luke 23:42-43). The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love (Psalm 103:8). If you feel it is too late for you, we declare over you that it is not. God’s grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We encourage you to seek Him now, no matter how far you feel you’ve strayed.
Regarding your desire to move and start over, we understand the longing for a fresh beginning. However, we must caution against making impulsive decisions in the midst of pain. Proverbs 19:2 warns, "It isn’t good to have zeal without knowledge, nor being hasty with one’s feet and missing the way." Before taking such a drastic step, we encourage you to seek the Lord’s guidance through prayer, Scripture, and wise counsel. If moving is truly God’s will for you, He will open the doors and provide the way.
Now, we must address the most critical issue: your relationship with Jesus Christ. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Jesus is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and it is through Him that we find true peace, purpose, and hope.
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is in deep pain and despair. Lord, You see their tears, You hear their cries, and You know the burdens they carry. We ask that You would draw near to them in this moment, wrapping them in Your love and reminding them that they are never alone. Father, we rebuke the spirit of hopelessness and despair that has taken hold, and we declare that You are the God of all hope (Romans 15:13). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, if their marriage is struggling, we ask for Your healing touch. Soften hearts, restore love, and bring reconciliation where it is Your will. Give them wisdom and discernment to seek godly counsel and to walk in Your ways. If moving is part of Your plan for them, open the right doors and provide the resources they need. But above all, Lord, we pray that they would find their identity, worth, and purpose in You.
Father, we ask for forgiveness for any sins or regrets they carry, including the pain of not raising their children in the church. We thank You that Your grace is sufficient, and Your mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Help them to turn to You now, to seek Your face, and to find restoration in Your presence.
Most importantly, Lord, we pray that they would come to know You as their Savior if they have not already. Open their eyes to see the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus Christ died for their sins and rose again so that they might have eternal life. May they experience the transformative power of Your love and the hope that is found only in You.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Dear one, we want to leave you with this encouragement: "The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing" (Zephaniah 3:17). You are not forgotten. You are not unloved. You are precious in God’s sight, and He has a plan for your life. Please reach out to a trusted believer, pastor, or counselor who can walk alongside you in this season. You do not have to carry this burden alone. We are praying for you, and we believe that God is at work even in this dark time. Hold on to hope.
