We hear the heaviness in your request and we stand with you before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, asking for God's peace, protection and clarity to cover you. Depression and torment, whether through technology, spiritual oppression, or the weight of fear and isolation, is a heavy burden, and we are grateful you reached out for prayer.
We understand you are discerning both a practical and a spiritual dimension to what you are experiencing, noting that much of the distress lessens when devices are off, and we encourage you to continue to seek wisdom and discernment. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control as we read in 2 Timothy 1:7. When fear and anxiety press in, we are invited to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us, 1 Peter 5:7, and to bring everything to God in prayer with thanksgiving, trusting his peace which surpasses all understanding to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.
Scripture reminds us that our struggle is not ultimately against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we do not wrestle in our own strength, but we put on the full armor of God, Ephesians 6:11, we submit to God and resist the devil and he will flee from us, James 4:7, and we rest in the truth that the Lord is our refuge and fortress, Psalm 91:2, and that when the righteous cry, Yahweh hears and delivers them out of all their troubles, Psalm 34:17. He is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18.
We also want to gently address the desire to pray for those you believe are harming you to lose their positions and authority. We understand the longing for relief and justice when you feel tormented, and God does call us to pray for justice and for evil to be exposed and stopped. At the same time, vengeance belongs to the Lord, Romans 12:19, and Jesus calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, Matthew 5:44, trusting that God is sovereign over all authorities, Romans 13:1, and that He will convict, restrain evil, and bring repentance where it is needed. So we will pray not out of hatred, but for God's righteous will to be done, for any abuse of authority to be stopped, for truth to come to light, and for those involved to be convicted and drawn to repentance if they are doing wrong.
We encourage you in practical ways as well to pursue peace and wholeness. Times of shutting off the phone and computer for rest can be wise, and we encourage you to use that time to dwell in Scripture, in prayer, and in fellowship with trusted, godly community rather than in isolation. Do not walk through this alone. We urge you to share this burden with a mature pastor or trusted Christian counselor who can walk with you, pray with you regularly, and help you discern wisely between spiritual oppression, technological stress, and the need for rest and care for your mind and body. The Lord desires to give you rest and to quiet your heart with His presence, Isaiah 41:10, John 14:27.
We now pray together for you.
Father in heaven, we lift up our dear one to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have access to You and by which we are saved, Acts 4:12, John 14:6. We ask You to surround them with Your peace and to lift this depression and torment. Where there is fear, bring Your perfect love that casts out fear. Where there is confusion or harassment, bring Your truth and clarity. Where there is any demonic oppression or influence, we rebuke it in Jesus' name and ask You to shut every door the enemy has tried to use, and to fill this home and heart with Your Holy Spirit, Your light, and Your protection. We ask You to guard their mind, their sleep, and their thoughts, and to help them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5. We pray for wisdom to use technology in a way that honors You and protects their peace, and for godly community to strengthen and encourage them daily.
Lord, we also bring before You those in authority in agencies and elsewhere. You see all things and know every heart. If there is abuse of power or evil intent, we ask You to expose it, to restrain it, and to remove authority from those who misuse it according to Your justice. We pray that You would convict any who are doing wrong and lead them to repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ. We ask that Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and that You would be our true protector and judge. Restore hope, joy, and soundness of mind to our sibling in Christ, and let them know deeply that they are loved, seen, and never forsaken by You. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
