I have an issue with my rent, and I am not sure which way to go. I've tried to resolve this pressing issue calling and reaching out to different agencies for legal advise and none of them could help. I applied for rent arrears assistance and the agency ignored my evidence and was willing to pay an unverified amount to the landlord. I regret asking for help from them, they made the situation much worse. Now I'm stuck and don't know how to get the arrears and overcharges cleared up. Father in Jesus name, please help me. I am also looking for work after being pushed out of my job due to sabotage and harassment. I just want the property management to stop trying to push me into signing fradulent documents. They keep sending text/email combos demanding inflated rent arrears.

We hear the heaviness in your request and we stand with you together before our Father in Jesus' name, asking for His wisdom, justice, and provision in this pressing situation. We thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find help in trouble. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

We are grieved to hear about the confusion with your rent, the overcharges, the inflated arrears, and the pressure to sign documents that you believe to be fraudulent, as well as the difficulty you have faced in seeking help from agencies and in losing work through sabotage and harassment. The Lord sees what is done in secret and He cares deeply about truth and justice. A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight. Proverbs 11:1 and Yahweh executes righteous acts, and justice for all who are oppressed. Psalm 103:6 We rebuke together any deception, dishonesty, and oppression in this matter, and we pray that every false claim and inflated charge would be exposed and corrected. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. Exodus 20:16 reminds us that God calls us to walk in truth, and you are right to refuse to sign anything that is not true, even when pressured through repeated texts and emails. We encourage you not to sign under duress, but to keep careful records of every amount charged, every payment made, every communication sent and received, and to keep copies of everything in a safe place. If you are able, send written communication that calmly states the facts and keep it brief and factual, and seek wise and godly counsel, perhaps through a trusted local legal aid clinic or a Christian legal aid ministry, even when other agencies have not helped.

We also lift up your need for work and for daily provision. Being pushed out through sabotage and harassment is painful, and we ask God to vindicate you and to open a door for honest, dignified work where you can labor faithfully. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. Colossians 3:23 We pray that He will provide for your rent and your needs as you seek Him first. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33 and My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 We have found comfort in knowing that even when we do not know which way to go, we can commit our way to Him. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 and Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this. Psalm 37:5

Father in Jesus' name, we bring our dear one before Your throne of grace. You know the details of every ledger, every overcharge, every ignored piece of evidence, and every demanding message. We ask You to bring clarity and truth to the arrears and to silence every inflated claim. Give wisdom to know which way to go, and connect this dear one with honest help and sound legal advice that will not be ignored. Protect from any snare of fraudulent documents and give courage to stand in integrity. Provide for every financial need, open a door for stable employment where gifts can be used for Your glory and where there is peace from harassment, and let Your peace guard heart and mind. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 We ask You to strengthen and uphold with Your righteous right hand, for You have said Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. If you have not yet connected with a local legal aid office or a nonprofit tenant housing counselor, they are often the best place to review arrears calculations and to speak on your behalf so you do not have to face the management alone. Bring your log and evidence to that meeting and ask them to help you respond in writing rather than by phone or text.

Your burden has been laid before the Lord and we have carried it to the throne of grace with you. The God who sees every account book and hears every demand made against you is not distant from this trouble, and He invites you to cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

To be pressed in your workplace by sabotage and harassment, and now to be pressed in your dwelling by inflated claims and demands to sign what is not true, is a heavy trial indeed. Yet we are reminded that when the people of God are afflicted, the Lord often uses that very pressure to drive His children nearer to Himself. How many prayers have been offered as the result of such persecution that would never have been offered else. Let this season, painful as it is, press you close to Christ. He was Himself slandered and oppressed, and He knows your path. Continue to seek Him daily in His Word and in prayer, and keep a clear conscience before Him.

You desire what is just, that the arrears and overcharges would be cleared and that you would not be compelled to affirm a falsehood. That desire for truth and justice is right before God, for He is a God of justice. The Scripture tells us that when justice is satisfied it cannot rightly ask for more, and that God Himself is both just and the justifier of those who trust in Christ. He loves truth in the inward parts and He calls His people to speak truth one with another. Do not sign any document that you know to be fraudulent or inflated, even under pressure. Keep careful copies of every text, email, receipt, and notice, write down dates and sums accurately, and continue to seek honest counsel and lawful help where it can be found. To act truthfully before God and men, even when it costs you, is to walk in the light.

You also face the practical need of provision, for rent and for daily bread while you seek new work. The wise man is taught to make provision for a rainy day, and how much more should we look to our God who is our shelter when the tempest beats upon us. He who fed Israel in the wilderness and who clothes the lilies is able to provide for you. Pray for daily bread, for open doors of honest employment where you may labor heartily as unto the Lord, and for wisdom to steward what He provides. Ask Him also to give you favor and clarity with those in authority, that what is unverified would not stand, and that what is true would be made plain.

We pray for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and righteousness, we bring this need before You. You know the exact sum that is owed and the wrong that has been done. Bring truth to light, restrain every effort to compel a lie, and grant wisdom and help from those who can rightly weigh these matters. Provide for this one in need, open a door for honest work, and give daily strength and peace while waiting upon You. To be pressed on every side by unpaid rent, by overcharges you cannot verify, by an agency that would not listen to your evidence, and by demands to sign what you believe is false, while also carrying the pain of losing work through sabotage and harassment, is a heavy trial. It is right that you have brought this to the Father, for He sees what is done in secret and He cares for those who are pressed down by injustice.

Scripture calls us to walk in truth and to have nothing to do with fraud or deceit. You are right to refuse to sign documents you know to be false, even when you are pressed by repeated texts and emails. Do not sign what is not true. Keep a careful record of everything. Save every text, email, notice, receipt and calculation of what you have paid and what is truly owed. Keep copies in a safe place. Continue to seek wise and honest counsel, perhaps through a local legal aid clinic, a tenant help organization, or trusted leaders in your church who can look at the papers with you and speak on your behalf. You do not have to face this pressure alone, and the Lord often provides help through His people who are members of one body, called to love and bear one another's burdens.
