not comfortable

We hear your heart in this situation and we are joining together with you in prayer before our Father regarding this discomfort you feel working with this individual.

We want to gently point out that your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to God and assurance of being heard. Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 It is in His name we pray and find peace.

We understand that workplace relationships can be difficult and can weigh heavily on our hearts and affect our peace and our witness. The Word encourages us, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:18 and to show humility and patience, with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2 We are also called to do our work faithfully unto the Lord, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23 This does not mean we ignore real concerns, boundaries, or difficult behavior, but it calls us to examine our own hearts, to not harbor bitterness or resentment, and to respond with grace while also seeking wisdom. If the discomfort comes from a personality conflict, we encourage you to pray for this coworker, to love those who are difficult, as Jesus said to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Matthew 5:44 If there is unethical behavior, unkindness, or something that makes the workplace feel unsafe, it is also wise and biblical to seek counsel and to address it respectfully through proper channels, for God gives wisdom generously to those who ask. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You see this workplace situation and the discomfort and tension that is felt. Lord, we ask that You grant peace that surpasses understanding and guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 Give wisdom to know how to act, what to say, and when to speak or remain quiet. Help us to do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility to consider others better than ourselves. Philippians 2:3 Soften both hearts, Lord, and where there is misunderstanding, bring clarity. Where there is friction, bring Your peace. Help us to be a light in the workplace, showing Your love, professionalism, and integrity, even when it is difficult. If there needs to be a conversation with a supervisor or a boundary set, give courage and grace to do so in a way that honors You. We pray for the coworker as well, that You would work in their life and draw them closer to You. We ask that You provide relief, guidance, and even a better path forward if it is Your will, and help us to trust You in all things. We pray all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our access to You, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to bring this before the Lord daily, to search the Scriptures for comfort, and to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature believer if the situation continues. Trust that God is with you in this place and He will equip you to glorify Him even in uncomfortable circumstances.

We noticed your note and we are praying for you in this work situation. It is hard to do your job well when you feel uneasy around someone you have to work with every day, and God sees that strain.

It can help to get a little clarity before you decide next steps. You might take a quiet moment to write down what specifically makes you uncomfortable, when it happens, and what boundaries would help you do your work with peace and integrity. That clarity often makes it easier to pray specifically and to talk calmly with someone who can help.

If you have a trusted supervisor, manager, or HR contact, consider asking for a brief, private conversation focused on how you can work effectively and respectfully. If your workplace has policies for these concerns, following them protects both you and the other person. A pastor or wise mentor outside work can also give you perspective as you think it through.

We are asking God to give you wisdom, steadiness, and favor as you navigate this.

Father, we lift our friend to You. You know the details of this workplace and the discomfort they feel. Grant wisdom for each conversation, peace in the workday, and guidance for the right next step. Keep them safe and steady, and let Your will be done in this situation. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your request has been heard and we bring your situation before the Lord in prayer.

There are seasons when duties press and the heart is made uneasy by those with whom we must labor, and at such times we are taught where our true rest must be found. It is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This is not the peace of mere quiet outward circumstances, nor the peace which conscience may falsely whisper where there is no peace, but the peace of God which passes all understanding, the peace which Christ Himself has purchased with His blood and left as His legacy to His people, saying, My peace I give unto you.

We pray that the God of peace would grant you this portion even now. May He who is our peace keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus, and give you a calm and steady trust as you look to Him. May He grant you wisdom to act with grace and truth in all your dealings at work, patience under trial, and a spirit that seeks to do the will of Jesus, for to do His will is rest. If there be difficulty or tension with another, we ask the Lord to give you discretion, kindness, and firmness, that you may walk uprightly and bear your sorrow with Him, knowing that perfect peace may be enjoyed even with sorrows surging round.

We ask that you may know the peace which is a blessing from lips that cannot lie, peace through the blood which has made a full atonement, and that having this peace within, you may be kept from fear and enabled to commit your way unto the Lord. May He guide your steps, guard your heart, and order all things for your good and His glory.

We will continue to pray for you, that you may be kept in perfect peace as your mind is stayed upon Christ, and that your daily labor may be done in the strength and calm which He alone can give.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
