not comfortable

We hear your heart in this request and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord. It is wise and right to acknowledge when you are not comfortable with someone, and to seek God's peace and direction rather than moving forward out of pressure or obligation. The Lord cares about the boundaries of your heart and He desires to give you wisdom and peace as you navigate this.

We are reminded of what is written, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 We also take comfort in the promise, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

We pray for you that God will affirm your discernment and guard your heart with His peace. If this is not the relationship He intends for you, we trust that He will make that clear and give you grace to step away kindly and firmly. We also pray for this man, that the Lord would lead him according to His perfect will. We ask that he would find true happiness and fulfillment not simply elsewhere, but in Christ first, and that God would guide him to the path and, if it is God's will, to the godly spouse He has prepared for him. For we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 and For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

We gently want to encourage you regarding your prayer, as you closed with Amen but did not mention the name of Jesus. We want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we are saved. As Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is because of what Jesus did on the cross, dying for our sins and rising again, that we can come boldly to God in prayer. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Him as Lord and Savior and to bring every request in His name.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this dear one to You and thank You that You see her discomfort and You care for her heart. Grant her clarity, courage, and peace as she steps back from what is not right for her. Guard her from guilt or confusion and lead her in Your way, for You have said I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you. Psalm 32:8 We also lift up this man to You, Lord, ask that You would comfort him, draw him close to Yourself, and lead him to the joy and hope that is found only in You. Guide you both to Your perfect will for your lives and for marriage if that is Your plan, that any future courtship and marriage would honor You. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

We hear how simply and honestly you put this. Not feeling comfortable is an important signal, and we appreciate that you named it directly while still wanting what is good for ###.

We think of healthy boundaries as a kind of property line. They help us take responsibility for what is ours, our time, energy, choices and values, and they let us stay kind to others without giving up our own sense of self. When that line is clear we can be connected and still be free to make the choices we need to make.

A practical step that often helps in a situation like this is to get clear with yourself first about what comfortable distance looks like for you, perhaps writing it down in one or two plain sentences. Then if you need to communicate it, keep it brief, kind and consistent, and lean on one trusted friend, pastor or counselor to know what you have decided so you are not carrying it alone. If you share space with this person regularly, having that support can make it easier to hold the line calmly.

Father, we lift this situation to You. Give our friend peace and clarity as they honor what they are feeling, and guide ### toward a good path elsewhere. Grant wisdom for any conversations ahead and keep both hearts guarded in Your care. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer concerning this uneasiness has been laid before the Lord, and we have sought His grace on your behalf.

There are seasons when the heart is troubled and comfort departs, and at such times we are taught where true peace is to be found. It is not in our own feelings nor in mere outward change, but in Christ Himself. As it is written, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. That peace which Christ gives is not as the world giveth, it is a peace with God through the blood of atonement, and from it flows a quiet conscience and a stayed mind even when duties press and sorrows surge around.

We have prayed that the Lord in His wisdom would grant you calmness of spirit, clearness of mind, and tenderness of heart to act as becomes one who seeks to please Him. May He guide you to walk in love and in truth, to speak and to act with kindness and firmness, and to commit your way unto Him who knows what is best for you and for him of whom you speak.

We have asked also that the Lord would graciously watch over him, and lead him in the path which is according to His holy will, that he too may find his happiness not in fleeting things but in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, in whom alone is lasting joy and true peace. For happiness apart from Christ is but a name, but to be at peace with God through our Lord Jesus is to possess a blessing which brings no sorrow with it.

Seek first the Saviour Himself, and peace will follow. Cast your care upon Him, stay your mind upon Him, and trust Him to order all things well for His glory and for your good.

Our Father in heaven, look upon this Thy child who feels discomfort and unrest. Give perfect peace to a mind stayed on Thee. Grant wisdom from above, that every step may be ordered in holiness and love. Keep both lives in Thy gracious hand, lead each one into Thy perfect will, and let true happiness be found in Thee alone, through Jesus Christ our Lord, by whom we have peace with God. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honesty in bringing this discomfort before God is heard, and it is right to seek His peace when a relationship or situation leaves you unsettled.

Scripture teaches that peace is a great good, the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, but not every form of closeness or agreement is true peace. Sometimes what looks like peace is not healthy, and a good separation preserves what is whole, as a physician protects the body by removing what would harm it. There is a peace that comes from God ruling in our hearts as an umpire between conflicting thoughts, and that peace is steadfast because it rests on what God has done for us, not on human pressure or mere accommodation.

I will pray with you.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ who alone brings us to You and who came to reconcile us to You, grant rest to this heart that feels uncomfortable and burdened. Let Your peace rule within, guarding thoughts and guiding decisions with wisdom, gentleness and clarity. Give courage to maintain healthy boundaries and to seek counsel and support in the church where needed.

For him, I ask that You lead him into true happiness elsewhere, not in any path that would dishonor You, but in knowing You, walking in Your ways, and finding joy and purpose according to Your good design. Draw both lives closer to Christ, so that whatever future You have for each will be built on holiness, respect and Your will.

May the Lord grant you comfort, wisdom to discern His will, and a settled confidence that He is near to those who call on Him sincerely. Amen

I hear the honesty and discomfort in your prayer, and it is right to bring that before the Lord. Feeling uncomfortable is often the heart recognizing that a boundary is needed, and God Himself honors right boundaries. He is sovereign and sets limits on what is allowed to press against you. Nothing can go beyond what He permits. The spiritual forces that oppose us are not equal to God in any way. They move only within restricted limits under His authority, and Jesus Christ is head over all authority and power. You can rest in that. You are not left unprotected to be harassed without limit.

It is also good to ask where your affections are being set in this season. Scripture calls us to set our affection on things above, not on things on the earth, because for the believer life is hidden with Christ in God. That does not give a license to live according to the flesh, but it does call us to let our life reflect what we believe about Christ. When affection becomes inordinate or covetous, when it seeks to possess or control what God has not given, it becomes idolatry, and Scripture warns that such things invite the wrath of God. Grace is glorious and where sin abounded grace abounded more, yet grace never means we are free to pursue what is outside God's will.

So it is right to pray as you have, that the Lord would establish a clear and kind separation and that each of you would find your peace and joy in Him. I will pray with you that God would guard your heart and mind in Christ, give you wisdom to keep healthy boundaries with grace and truth, and keep your life hidden and secure in Him. I pray also that He would lead this other person away to seek his happiness not simply elsewhere, but in the Lord Himself, finding true contentment and direction according to God's will, and that both of you would be drawn closer to Jesus where real joy is found.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have continued to lift you up before the Lord concerning the discomfort you shared and your prayer that he would find happiness elsewhere. We have asked our Heavenly Father to surround you with His peace and protection, to give you wisdom and strength to maintain healthy boundaries, and to guide your steps with clarity. We have also prayed for him, that God would lead him according to His perfect will and bring him to a place of true happiness and fulfillment elsewhere, as you requested. We take comfort in Philippians 4:7 which reminds us that the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ. We continue to pray for your peace and for Gods will to be done in this situation, and we ask all these things in Jesus Name, Amen.
