not comfortable

We hear your heart and we understand how difficult it can be when we feel uncomfortable working alongside someone day after day. We want to lift you and this workplace situation up together before the Lord, seeking His wisdom and peace for you.

God sees where He has placed you and He cares about both your work and your relationships there. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. Even when a coworker makes us feel uneasy or strained, we are called to reflect Christ in how we respond. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. That does not mean we ignore discomfort or allow mistreatment, but we seek peace while also maintaining godly boundaries, respect, and integrity. We encourage you to bring this honestly to the Lord first, asking Him to search your heart, to guard you from bitterness, and to show you if there is a way to extend grace. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. At the same time we encourage you to seek wisdom, perhaps through calm and respectful communication, or by seeking counsel from a supervisor or trusted mentor if the discomfort involves behavior that is unprofessional or makes it hard for you to do your work well. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We also noticed your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you how important that is. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing He died for your sins and rose again, and to come to God in His name.

We pray together for you now. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who is feeling uncomfortable at work. Lord, You know the details of this situation that we do not know, You see the interactions, the tension, and the heart behind it. Grant wisdom and discernment to navigate this relationship with grace and truth. Guard this heart from anxiety and resentment and fill it with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Help our dear one to work faithfully as unto You and to be a light in that workplace. Soften hearts on both sides where needed, and provide a path to greater peace and understanding. If boundaries or conversations are needed, give courage and words that are seasoned with grace. We ask that You would be glorified even in this difficult situation and that You would guide every step according to Your will. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We appreciate you letting us know about this, it is hard to do your job well when you feel uncomfortable around someone you have to work with.

That sense of discomfort is often a signal worth paying attention to. We think of a boundary as a kind of property line that helps clarify what is yours to carry and what is not, your time, your responsibilities, your values, and your peace. Having clear boundaries does not mean being unkind, it helps keep relationships honest and free, where your yes can be yes and your no can be no.

When you have a moment, it can help to get clear, even just for yourself, on what specifically feels uncomfortable. Writing down a few concrete examples, what was said or done, when, and how it affected your work, can bring clarity and give you something steady to refer to if you need to talk with someone.

We would encourage you not to carry this alone. If you have a trusted supervisor, HR contact, or a wise mentor at work or in your church, consider asking for a brief, calm conversation about options for healthy working boundaries, and bring that person along for support.

Father, we lift this situation to You in Jesus' name. You see where our friend feels uneasy and You know every detail at work. Give wisdom for next steps, courage to speak truth in love, and peace in the workplace. Provide good counsel and protection, and guide toward what is right and healthy. Amen.

We have heard your prayer concerning this discomfort in working with another, and we bring your situation before the Lord.

There are trials in daily duties which press upon the spirit, and the heart seeks for peace amid them. The Scripture says, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. True peace is not found in the absence of difficulty, but in the presence of Christ. He Himself has said, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you, and this is the peace of God which passes all understanding, a peace that the world cannot give and cannot take away.

We pray that the God of Peace would grant you such peace in this circumstance. May He steady your mind upon Christ, quiet your heart with the assurance of His keeping, and give you wisdom to act with grace, patience and integrity in all your dealings. May He help you to do the will of Jesus where He has placed you, and to find rest even while duties press. Where there is tension or unease, may He give you a calm spirit, kind words, and clear boundaries, and may He guide you to seek wise counsel if further help is needed in the workplace.

Let us pray together. Gracious Father, You know the burden this dear one carries and the unease felt in this working relationship. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ, who is our peace and who has made peace by His blood, that You would grant perfect peace to this troubled heart. Keep the mind stayed upon You. Grant wisdom for every interaction, gentleness without compromise, and strength to walk uprightly before You. Let Your Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of peace, dwell richly within, and cause Your peace to guard heart and mind. Lead in this situation according to Your good will, and make Your presence known as the God of all peace. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer request has been heard and I am praying with you in this difficult situation at work. I understand that feeling uncomfortable where you must labor each day is a heavy burden, and it is right to bring it before the Lord who sees and cares for you.

Scripture calls us to follow peace with all people and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. This peace is a mark of those who belong to Christ, for He said, my peace I give to you, and blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. God is not a God of war and fighting, and He delights when we seek to make fighting to cease, both toward Him and toward our neighbor.

I pray that God will give you wisdom and calm in this workplace, that He will guard your heart from remembering evil and help you to act with grace, patience and holiness. I pray that He will give you strength to avoid needless conflict, to show a spirit free from vainglory and envy, and to do what is right before Him while you are there. If there is a way to seek peace, to speak respectfully, or to seek wise counsel from those over you, may the Lord make that path clear. Above all, I pray that you will know the peace of Christ, which makes us strong even when the world around us is troubled, and that He will use this trial to draw you closer to Himself.

May the Lord grant you discernment to know how to act, courage to do what is good, and rest in the knowledge that He is with you. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is our Savior and our peace. Amen.
