Your request for good and stable employment has been heard and we join with you in earnest prayer before the throne of grace.
There is wisdom in bringing this need to the Lord, for He is the God who guides His people with His counsel. As the Psalmist declares, Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Bowing with submission to the will of God, we are furnished with unerring guidance. Haste is the author of much mischief in human life, yet the Lord's guidance is sure, and He will direct your steps as you seek Him and commit your way to Him. Remember also the pattern of Job, of whom it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. The hour of trial and waiting is an hour of danger as well as of opportunity, and we pray that the Lord will uphold you graciously, that your heart may be kept from murmuring and your faith kept strong while you wait upon His providence.
We are reminded that our longest sorrows have a close and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our need. The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed, and the same God who once maintained Job's estate and at the last gave him twice as much, is able to brighten your prospects as well as to try them. He can turn His hand and open a door which no man can shut, and He can anoint you with fresh oil for fresh labour. Be diligent in the means, handle well the weapons God has given you, seek work heartily as unto the Lord, and trust His timing, for He withholds no good thing from them that walk uprightly.
Let us pray together. O Lord our God, our heavenly Father, Thou knowest the need of Thy servant who seeks employment. Thou knowest what is good and stable and sufficient for daily bread. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, our only Saviour, that Thou wouldst in Thy mercy guide to a good and honest employment, where labour may be done faithfully and provision made for those dependent. Open the right door and close the wrong, grant favour in the eyes of employers, and give wisdom, humility and diligence in every application and interview. Keep this dear soul from discouragement and from sin in the time of trial, and let patience have her perfect work. Provide, we beseech Thee, according to Thy riches in glory by Christ Jesus, and let this need be met to the praise of Thy faithful providence. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Wait upon the Lord and be of good courage. Continue in prayer, continue in the Word, and continue in diligent seeking, believing that He who has heard will answer in His own perfect way and time.
