We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving the profound loss of life—both born and unborn—and the deep wounds of abandonment that afflict so many. The pain of those who have lost children through abortion or miscarriage is real, and we acknowledge the sorrow of mothers, fathers, and families who carry this burden. The Bible is clear that every life is precious in God’s sight, for He knit each one together in the womb (Psalm 139:13-16). The shedding of innocent blood, whether through abortion or neglect, is a grave sin before the Lord, and we must stand against it with both truth and compassion.
We also lift up those who have been abandoned—spouses left behind, children without parents, siblings betrayed, and friends forsaken. The loneliness and despair of feeling unwanted or discarded can be overwhelming, but we declare that God is a Father to the fatherless and a Defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). He sees every tear and hears every cry of the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). For those without shelter, family, or support, we pray that the Lord would be their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
To those who have participated in or been affected by abortion, we say this: There is forgiveness and healing in the name of Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin (1 John 1:7), and no one is beyond the reach of His mercy. If you have not yet turned to Him in repentance and faith, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, receive His forgiveness, and allow Him to restore what has been broken. For those who have lost children, we entrust those precious souls to God’s care, trusting that He welcomes them into His presence with love and tenderness.
For marriages and families under attack, we stand on the truth that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16) and that He desires to heal and restore what has been torn apart. We rebuke the spirit of abandonment and betrayal in the name of Jesus, declaring that no weapon formed against God’s people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for husbands and wives to remain faithful, for parents to cherish and protect their children, and for families to be united in Christ.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for the lost and the abandoned. We ask for Your mercy to cover those who have been involved in abortion, that they may find forgiveness and peace in Jesus Christ. Comfort those who mourn the loss of children, whether through abortion, miscarriage, or abandonment, and let them feel Your loving embrace. For those without family or shelter, provide for their needs and surround them with Your people as a new family in Christ. Heal broken marriages, restore wayward children, and mend fractured relationships. We rebuke the spirits of abandonment, betrayal, and death in the name of Jesus, and we declare that life and love will prevail. Strengthen us to stand for truth, to defend the innocent, and to show Your compassion to a hurting world. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
