We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep sorrow and brokenness expressed in this plea. The pain of abandonment, the grief of lost family, and the anguish over the death of the unborn—these wounds cut deeply, and we stand with you in bringing them before our Heavenly Father, who alone can heal and restore.
First, we must address the grave sin of abortion with truth and compassion. The Bible is clear that life begins in the womb, and every child is fearfully and wonderfully made by God (Psalm 139:13-16). To take the life of an unborn child is murder, a violation of God’s commandment: *"You shall not murder"* (Exodus 20:13). Yet even in this darkness, we cling to the mercy of God, who forgives all sin through the blood of Jesus Christ. If there is guilt or regret over past decisions, we urge repentance and trust in Christ’s redeeming love. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). The children lost to abortion are in the hands of a just and loving God, and we entrust them to His care, believing He receives them into His presence.
For those suffering abandonment—whether by parents, spouses, children, or friends—we declare that God will never leave nor forsake you. *"Though my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet the Lord will take me up"* (Psalm 27:10). The Lord is your refuge, your shelter, and your family when earthly relationships fail. We pray that He would surround you with His love, provide for your needs, and lead you to a community of believers who will stand with you. If you are without a home or support, we ask God to open doors of provision and to place godly people in your path who will show you His kindness.
For those who feel like "beggars" or outcasts, remember that Jesus came for the broken, the lost, and the forgotten. *"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed"* (Luke 4:18). You are not forgotten. You are seen, known, and deeply loved by the Creator of the universe.
We also lift up those who have been betrayed by friends or family. Betrayal cuts deep, but God’s Word promises that He will judge justly and restore what has been stolen. *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Lean on Him in your pain, and ask Him to heal your wounds.
To those who do not yet know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we must share this truth: there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and it is only through faith in Him that we have access to God the Father. If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life.
Now, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened by the pain of abandonment, betrayal, and the loss of precious lives. Lord, You see every tear, every broken heart, and every child lost to the darkness of this world. We ask for Your mercy to cover those who grieve, Your healing to restore the broken, and Your provision for those in need.
Father, we repent on behalf of those who have taken part in abortion, whether through action or silence. We ask for Your forgiveness and healing for those carrying guilt and shame. Comfort the mothers and fathers who mourn their children, and lead them to the hope found only in Jesus Christ.
For those who feel abandoned, we declare that You are their Father, their Husband, their Friend. You are the One who never leaves nor forsakes them (Hebrews 13:5). Provide shelter, family, and community for those who are alone. Open doors of opportunity, and surround them with Your love.
Lord, we entrust the unborn children who have been lost to Your care. We believe that You receive them into Your arms, where there is no more pain or sorrow. Comfort those who mourn, and turn their hearts toward You.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. Strengthen us to be Your hands and feet to those who are suffering, and give us boldness to speak Your truth in love. May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
