We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep sorrow and pain expressed in this request. The loss of unborn babies, the agony of abandonment, and the brokenness of families torn apart by betrayal, rejection, and the sin of abortion weigh heavily upon us. We stand in the gap, interceding with tears and fervent prayers, knowing that our God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Father, we lift up every mother and father who has been wounded by the loss of a child through abortion or miscarriage. The grief of a parent who has lost a child is unimaginable, and we ask that You would draw near to them, comforting them with Your presence. For those who have chosen abortion, we pray for Your mercy and forgiveness. Your Word tells us that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We rebuke the spirit of guilt, shame, and condemnation that seeks to keep them in bondage, and we declare that there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Lord, lead them to repentance and healing, that they may find peace in You.
We also lift up those who have been abandoned, wives, husbands, daughters, sons, brothers, sisters, and friends who have been left behind, feeling alone and unloved. The pain of abandonment is deep, but we declare that You, Lord, will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). You are a Father to the fatherless and a defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). We pray that You would surround them with Your love, providing for their needs and placing godly people in their lives to walk alongside them. For those who feel as though they have no refuge, we declare that You are their shelter and strong tower (Psalm 61:3). You see their tears, and You collect them in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8). Comfort them, Lord, and remind them that they are precious in Your sight.
We lift up the unborn babies who have been lost to abortion, miscarriage, or neglect. Your Word tells us that You knit them together in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14), and that You have plans for their lives (Jeremiah 29:11). Though their lives were cut short, we entrust them into Your loving care, believing that You receive them into Your arms. We pray for the families who grieve these little ones, that they would find hope in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. For those who have participated in or supported abortion, we pray for conviction and repentance. The shedding of innocent blood is an abomination to You (Proverbs 6:17), but Your grace is greater than our sin. We rebuke the spirit of death and declare life in the name of Jesus.
For those who feel as though they have no home, no family, and no friends, we declare that You are their provider and protector. You are the God who sets the solitary in families (Psalm 68:6), and we pray that You would bring them into a community of believers who will love and support them. For those who are struggling with mental health or feel as though they are in a "madhouse," we pray for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3).
We also lift up those who have been betrayed by friends or loved ones. Betrayal cuts deep, but we declare that You are faithful even when others are not. You are the God who restores and redeems, and we pray that You would heal their wounds and replace their sorrow with joy. Help them to forgive, even as You have forgiven them, so that bitterness does not take root in their hearts (Hebrews 12:15).
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of abandonment and death that seeks to destroy families and lives. We declare that life is sacred, and we stand against the forces of darkness that seek to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We pray for a revival of love, compassion, and respect for life in our world. Raise up godly men and women who will stand for righteousness and speak out against the injustice of abortion. We pray for those who have been deceived by the lies of the enemy, that they would turn to You and find truth in Your Word.
We also take this moment to remind all who read this that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and He alone can bring true healing and hope.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion and love for those who are suffering. We ask that You would move mightily in their lives, bringing healing, restoration, and hope. Comfort the brokenhearted, bind up their wounds, and remind them that they are never alone. We pray for a revival of love and life in our families, communities, and nations. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
