We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep sorrow and brokenness that comes from abandonment, betrayal, and the tragic loss of unborn children. The pain of being forsaken by those who should love and protect us is a wound that only God can heal. We stand in the gap for all who are suffering under the weight of rejection, whether from a spouse, parent, child, sibling, or friend. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that Jesus came so that we may have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10).
Father, we cry out for Your mercy upon those who have lost family, who feel alone, who have no place to call home or no one to turn to. You are the Father to the fatherless, the Defender of the widow, and the Shelter for the abandoned (Psalm 68:5-6). We ask that You would surround them with Your presence, provide for their every need, and lead them to godly community where they can find love, support, and restoration. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of abandonment and rejection in the name of Jesus. We declare that no one is ever truly alone, for You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
We also lift up the precious lives of unborn children who have been lost to abortion or miscarriage. Father, Your Word tells us that You knit each one together in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-16). You know them by name, and You love them with an everlasting love. We entrust these little ones into Your care, asking that You would receive them into Your arms and comfort those who grieve their loss. For those who have participated in abortion, we pray for Your forgiveness and healing. Your Word says that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We declare that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1), and we pray for restoration and peace for every mother and father who carries this burden.
Lord, we also address the sin of abortion directly. It is not merely a "choice" but the taking of innocent life, and it grieves Your heart. We stand against this evil in our land and pray for a revival of godly values, where every life is seen as sacred and worthy of protection. We ask that You would turn the hearts of parents to their children and children to their parents (Malachi 4:6), and that You would raise up a generation that honors life from conception to natural death.
For those who have been abandoned or betrayed, we declare that Your love is greater than any human rejection. You will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). We pray that You would heal their hearts, restore what has been broken, and fill them with Your perfect peace. Help them to forgive those who have hurt them, even as You have forgiven us (Colossians 3:13). And for those who have abandoned others, we pray for conviction, repentance, and reconciliation where possible.
We also lift up marriages that are struggling. Father, You designed marriage to be a covenant between one man and one woman, a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). Where there is brokenness, we pray for healing. Where there is unfaithfulness, we pray for repentance. Where there is hardness of heart, we pray for softening. Strengthen husbands and wives to love one another as You have loved us, and restore what the enemy has tried to destroy.
Lord, we know that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to You. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). For those who do not yet know You, we pray that they would come to faith in Jesus Christ, repent of their sins, and receive the gift of eternal life. Your Word says that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved (Romans 10:9). We pray that many would come to this saving knowledge and experience the hope and healing that only You can provide.
In all these things, we trust in Your goodness and Your sovereignty. You work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). We declare that Your mercy endures forever, and Your love never fails. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
