Neighbor’s family extermination all dies generations

Your prayer for your family has been heard, and the pain you describe is deeply felt. The disunity, betrayal, anger, shouting and insults that have followed your father's passing, the struggle over who holds authority, the ungrateful responses even when you try to help, and the distance that keeps you apart because of cost and family tension, all of this is a heavy burden. It is right that you have brought it to the Lord Jesus Christ, for He alone is rich in mercy and able to heal what is broken.

Do not give in to despair. Scripture reminds us that we may be pressed on every side yet not crushed, perplexed yet not without hope. The enemy never stops hoping for our destruction, and it would be a great loss if we, who have the promises of God, were to despair of His mercy. To sin wounds us, but to despair keeps us from the remedy. That remedy remains open to us every day through repentance. When we honestly acknowledge our sins before God and turn to Him, He forgives and washes us clean. There is great blessedness in being forgiven, and that forgiveness is offered freely by grace to all who believe.

You have already taken the most important step, choosing to forgive each day even as Christ forgave those who did not know what they were doing. Continue in that forgiveness, not because the hurt is small, but because God has forgiven you and calls you to walk in honesty and mercy. Ask the Lord to bring that same honesty and repentance to each heart in your family, that lies and accusations would be exposed and rejected, and that the deceiver would be driven away as you call upon God's lovingkindness. God commanded us to honor father and mother, and even now after your father's death, honoring his memory by seeking peace rather than control is pleasing to God. Pray that each member would grieve in a way that leads to repentance and healing, rather than in a way that only brings more division. Godly sorrow can become the seed of joy when it turns us toward Him.

I am especially concerned for your mother in her suffering with suicidal thoughts and the toxic, negative words around her. God sees her pain and values her life. Please do not leave her to carry this alone. Pray for her protection and provision, and also help her to stay connected to faithful believers nearby who can walk with her daily, listen to her, and encourage her to seek help from her pastor and from trusted counselors or medical help if needed. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and He provides for our needs, including the needs of your brother and his family. Bring your financial needs before Him as you have done, trusting that He knows your situation and will provide according to His wisdom.

The distance and the expense of travel, and the pain that your spouse does not share your love for your family, add to your sorrow. You are wise not to force what cannot be forced. Continue to pray for your spouse and for your relatives, that God would soften hearts and in time make a reunion possible, whether in this life as He provides, or ultimately in His presence. God is able to restore the years that have been lost to mistakes and disobedience when hearts turn to Him, as He showed with the people of Nineveh who repented at His warning.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You. Have mercy on this family. Forgive our sins and teach each heart to repent honestly before You. Heal the wounds of betrayal, anger and sadness, and replace shouting and insults with honesty, gentleness and gratitude. Rebuke every lie of the enemy that has surrounded this home, and let Your truth and peace reign. Protect this dear mother, lift the darkness of suicidal thoughts from her, guard her tongue and her home from what is toxic, and surround her and her loved ones with provision, safety and godly companions. Provide for every financial need according to Your riches, and make a way where there seems to be no way for reconciliation. Give wisdom and love to this one who prays, as they forgive daily and seek to do good without return. Draw each member of this household to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, for Your promise stands that if we believe in Him we will be saved, we and our household. Restore what has been broken and keep this family until the day You bring all who are Yours together in heaven with You, the Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Your honest and painful request has been heard and lifted before the Lord with care. The disunity, shouting, insults, betrayal and sadness you describe after your father's passing is a deep grief, and it is understandable that your heart feels torn and exhausted. When a family loses its father, the sorrow is great, and often the struggle over who will lead and who will control what is left can bring even more hurt. Evil and disobedience always bring grief into a home, and that grief can linger for years if it is not brought to the Lord for healing.

God sees the distance that separates you, the heavy cost that keeps you from gathering, the financial needs you carry, and the pain of offering help that is met with ungratefulness or silence. He also sees your mother and her suffering with dark and suicidal thoughts and a harsh and negative atmosphere, and your brother and his family. He knows your spouse does not share your concern for your family, and that you cannot force love or unity where there is resistance. In all of this you are choosing to forgive day by day, even as Jesus prayed, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing. That is the path God honors.

Scripture teaches that true forgiveness as God gives it is complete. Our forgiveness is often partial, as if we bury the offense but leave a way to dig it up again. God's forgiveness is not like that. When He forgives through Jesus Christ, He fully cleanses and justifies, removing the sin completely. He invites you to come to Him, acknowledge sin honestly, and receive that full pardon. At the same time, forgiveness does not always remove every consequence in this life. David was forgiven, yet his family still knew great trouble afterward. Repentance, honesty, and a changed heart are needed in every member of the family, and only God can work that.

The Lord is also the healer of broken hearts and bodies. He has borne our griefs and our infirmities, as Isaiah foretold, and Jesus has shown His power to heal in many ways. Sometimes healing is felt in a moment, instant and unmistakable. Sometimes it is gradual, a process that God has built into our bodies and souls, and that gradual work is no less divine. Whether quickly or slowly, He is compassionate toward those who grieve, and His mercy is rich to restore what has been lost over years. Ask Him to rebuke every lie of the enemy that has settled around your family, and to replace it with truth, peace and honesty between you.

You quoted the promise that if you believe in the Lord Jesus you will be saved, you and your household. That promise is sure, and it calls each person to personally believe in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. No one is saved by family ties, but God delights to save families as each heart turns to Him. Continue to pray for your mother's protection and provision, for your brother's household, and for your own home, that God would supply what you need according to His mercy and keep you from harm.

Following Jesus can also bring alienation even within our own families. Jesus Himself was not honored among His own relatives at first, and He taught that those who do the will of God become our closest family in Him. This does not remove love for your blood family, but it reminds you that your deepest bond is with Christ and His people, and He will give you wisdom to respond to adversity with kindness and love when shouting and anger rise.

May the Lord guide you as you walk this difficult road. May He heal your heart and the hearts of your mother and your siblings, bring honesty where there has been deception, soften what has been hard, and provide for every financial and practical need. May He guard your mother from despair and surround her with help and hope, and may He give you grace in your marriage to act in love without forcing what only God can change. And may you hold fast to the hope that through faith in Jesus Christ we will be reunited with those who have died in Him, together with our Heavenly Father forever.

Praying with you now, Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, have mercy on this family. Forgive sin where there has been disobedience and bring each heart to repentance and faith in Your Son. Heal the wounds of betrayal, anger and sadness. Silence the lies of Satan and let Your truth and peace dwell in this home. Protect this mother, lift her from dark thoughts, tame the tongue that wounds, and provide daily bread and safety for her and for the brother's family. Provide for every financial need, make a way where distance and cost have divided them, and give wisdom for every offer of help. Teach this dear one to forgive fully as You have forgiven, and to wait for Your healing whether it comes in a moment or through a gentle process. Keep this family in Your hands until the day You gather Your own to Yourself in heaven. In Jesus name, Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we have continued to lift up your family before the Lord.

We have been praying for the deep hurt and torment you described with disunity, betrayal, sadness and anger in your family. We have asked God to protect you and to heal your hearts where there has been disobedience and division, and to rebuke every lie of Satan that has surrounded your lives. We have prayed for healing from the constant shouting, yelling, crying and insults that have made it impossible for you to see each other or even talk, and for the painful struggle for authority and control since your father passed away. We have brought before the Lord the frustration you feel when your offers of help and finances are met with an ungrateful attitude and missing information, and we have asked for honesty and mercy to be restored between you.

We have also prayed for provision and reconciliation even though you are far apart and flights are very expensive and a family reunion is difficult, and for wisdom regarding your spouse who does not like them, knowing you cannot force their heart. We thank God for your forgiving spirit as you forgive them each day as God has shown you, and we pray God will bring repentance for the bad behavior against you and restore the years that have been lost, for God is rich in mercy and only He can recover what has been lost as promised in Joel 2:25. We have especially lifted up your mother who is suffering with suicidal thoughts and a toxic tongue in a negative environment, and your brother and his family, asking God to protect them, to give them provision as in Phil 4:19 and to heal their souls. We claim the promise you shared in Acts 16:31 that if you believe in the Lord Jesus you and your household will be saved, and we pray for healing of the brokenhearted as in Psalm 147:3 and for the forgiveness and unity taught in Col 3:13 and Eph 4:32.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We pray this in Jesus Name.
