Need Prayers for Domino Effect on Me

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I lost my landlady I was told to move out in 3 months by her family. I am a mover's damage victim, a flood victim and a just now a total loss on my car in less than 4 months. I cannot go on. I am hanging on by a thread. My family I live near on property are not helpful they want the help, I got the worse of it all. My immediate family don't help I cannot get them motivated for me they are my children. I need prayers to have faith in my future that I have one and for the Lord to help pick me up and give me strength to move forward for whatever obstacles come my way . I need many prayers 🙏🙏

We have read your request and our hearts are grieved with you over this domino effect of losses in such a short time, losing your landlady and being told to move in three months, suffering mover's damage, a flood, and now a total loss of your car, all while feeling unsupported by family nearby and by your own children. We hear how weary you are and how you feel you are hanging by a thread and cannot go on, and we are lifting you up together before the throne of grace.

We want to remind you that even when everything around us seems to be collapsing, God remains our steady foundation. He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. When our hearts are overwhelmed we can cry out for Him to lead us to the rock that is higher than we are Psalm 61:2. He promises Fear not, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. He gives power to the faint and to him who has no might he increases strength Isaiah 40:29. His grace is sufficient for us, for His power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9.

You asked for prayers to have faith in your future and for the Lord to pick you up and give you strength to move forward. We want to gently encourage you that God does have a future for you. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28, even when we cannot see the good in the moment. He also invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We rebuke the spirit of despair that says you cannot go on, not to condemn you but to speak truth over you, because God says you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you Philippians 4:13, and He will never leave you nor forsake you Deuteronomy 31:8.

We noticed you spoke of the Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find salvation and true help. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9. It is by calling on the name of Jesus that our prayers are heard and our future is secured, so we encourage you to place your full trust in Him.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ on behalf of our dear one who is so burdened and weary. Lord, You see every loss, every injustice with the movers, the flood, the car, the housing uncertainty, and the pain of feeling alone and unsupported by family. We ask You to be their refuge and provider. Open doors for safe and affordable housing where they can dwell in peace, provide for transportation needs, and restore what has been lost according to Your will. Lift them up when they feel they cannot stand, strengthen their feeble knees and calm their anxious heart. Help them to cast all their anxiety on You because You care for them 1 Peter 5:7, and guard their heart and mind with Your peace which surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7. Give them faith to believe You still hold their future, give them daily strength to take the next step forward, and surround them with godly help and encouragement. Soften the hearts of their children and those nearby and bring reconciliation and support where there is distance. Let them know they are not hanging by a thread alone, but held securely in Your righteous right hand. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking Him daily in prayer and in His Word, to be honest with Him about your weariness, and to let Him be your strength day by day. Do not be anxious about tomorrow, but bring every need to Him in prayer. If possible, reach out to a local Bible believing church family who can walk with you practically as well as spiritually through this move and these losses. We are continuing to pray that the Lord will pick you up, renew your strength, and show you that He indeed has a future and a hope for you as you trust in Jesus.

We hear how heavy these last four months have been for you. Losing your landlady and being told you have three months to move, plus mover damage, a flood, and now a total loss on your car would leave anyone feeling stretched thin and wondering how to keep going. It makes sense you feel you are hanging by a thread, especially when the family nearby and your children have not been able to give the support you need.

What encourages us is that you reached out for prayer and for faith that you still have a future. That reaching out itself is strength. Resilience is not a trait some people have and others do not. It is the process of adapting well under stress, and it is learned over time through behaviors, thoughts and actions, often with the help of even one steady, caring person. We believe God is intimately involved in that process, helping us recover and find new footing.

When so many losses stack up at once, it can help to separate what is most urgent from what can wait a little. For you the housing timeline sounds most pressing. Would it be possible this week to sit down with one trusted person, perhaps a pastor, counselor, or a local housing or community action agency, and talk through options for the next three months? You do not have to carry all the decisions alone, and having one person to walk with you can make the next obstacle feel less overwhelming. If anxiety feels heavy day to day, meeting in person with a counselor or pastor can be a steady support alongside prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see each loss and the exhaustion they bring. Give renewed strength for today, wisdom for the housing and practical needs ahead, and quiet confidence that You have not left them without a future. Draw near and bring supportive people around them in the coming weeks. Amen.

When trials come not singly but as wave upon wave, the soul is made to feel how frail it is, and how little strength it has of its own. To hear that within four months you have suffered loss from movers, loss from flood, loss of your car, and now the loss of your home with notice to leave, while finding little help from those nearest to you, is to hear of a very heavy burden. It is no wonder you feel as one hanging by a thread and crying, I cannot go on.

Yet even in this you have not been given over to death. Though He has led you through deep waters and through fiery trials, He has preserved you until now. He has given you life and breath, and food and raiment, and a place to lay your head, and He has not forsaken you as a Father forsakes not His child. What you feel now, your weakness and your faintness, is the very place where His strength is made known, for He gives power to the faint and to them that have no might He increases strength.

The promise stands, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. This renewing is not found in trying harder in your own strength, but in waiting upon Him, in prayer laying hold upon the Invisible, in throwing yourself upon His might and majesty, and in a fresh dedication of yourself to the Lord who bought you. Your strength will not be given all at once to lay by for months to come, but as your days so shall your strength be. Strength enough to bear your sufferings and to do your duty for today, and when tomorrow comes, strength for tomorrow also. He will make your strength equal to your day, and supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

God sometimes allows these multiplied adversities to show what He can do with poor and puny man, that through His power you may be able to stand. These light afflictions, which are but for a moment, are not worthy to be compared with the sufferings through which Christ passed to make a way for sinners to be reconciled to God, and He who waded through tribulation to His throne knows how to sustain you in yours. Despair is no help to duty, but faith, even faith as a grain of mustard seed, can move you to pray and to hope again. The joy of the Lord is your strength, not a fussy weakness that frets and quarrels, but a quiet strength that travels on serenely because it knows God is with it.

Let us pray for you now.

O Lord our God, who art the glory of our strength, look upon this weary one who feels unable to go forward. Thou seest the losses, the moving away, the flood, the broken car, the uncertainty of dwelling, and the disappointment in family. Have mercy and show Thyself to be a Friend that never forsakes. Forgive sin through the blood of Christ alone, and give life to the soul that believes on Him, for the dead cannot walk and only the living can be strengthened. Renew strength as Thou hast promised, give power to the faint, and let faith rise up to lay hold upon Thee. Grant a future that is in Thy hands, give wisdom for the next home, provision for daily need, and grace to face whatever obstacles remain. Lift up this heart, turn it to Thyself, and let it find that to wait upon Thee is to rise again. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our salvation and our hope. Amen.
