We join you in lifting up your dear mother before the Lord and we hurt with you to hear how much pain she has been enduring with the pinched nerves in her back and neck and the tingling in her arms and leg. We know how wearying it is to watch someone we love suffer day after day and to wait for help while the days feel long, and we want to stand with you in prayer for her complete healing and comfort.
We are thankful that she has seen some improvement and that she has doctors who are working to help her, and we pray that the Lord will guide their hands and wisdom as they prepare for the shot scheduled in the first week of October. We pray that even before that appointment the Lord would bring her relief from this constant pain and that the treatment would be effective and bring lasting help.
We remember the promises of God that He is our healer and our strength. Psalm 103:2-3 says Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases. And Jeremiah 30:17 says But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We also cling to Isaiah 41:10 which says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. James 5:14-15 reminds us Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.
We pray together now for your mother. Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this precious mother to You. You see her pain, You know every pinched nerve, every ache in her back and neck, every tingling and numbness in her arms and leg. Lord, we ask that You would touch her body with Your healing hand and ease her suffering. Grant her relief that allows her to rest and to sleep peacefully, lessen the inflammation and pressure on those nerves, and restore strength and feeling where there is discomfort. We pray for wisdom for every doctor who has cared for her and for those who will give the shot next month, that You would guide them to do what is best for her and that this treatment would bring the relief she has been longing for. Give her comfort and peace in this waiting time and give her family peace as they care for her. Let her feel Your presence near her and be reminded that You are close to those who suffer. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
We want to gently share with you that we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to encourage you because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and assurance that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray with confidence and hope.
We encourage you to continue to bring your mother and your own worries to the Lord daily while you wait for that appointment. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Keep seeking God in prayer, keep encouraging your mother to rest as she is able, to follow the doctors counsel, and to trust that God can use both His healing power and the medical help He provides. We are praying with you that the Lord will bring her comfort now, success with the coming treatment, and renewed health in the days ahead.
