Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly and for allowing us to pray with you. I hear how heavy this is, living on a fixed income where every dollar is part of your survival, and then facing the worry of a money order marked no refund after you learned your rent had already been paid by someone else. I also hear your longing to be nearer to your sister and to find a stable place to live while the area where you are now is struggling financially.
I want to encourage you with this, God has always left room for Himself to work. In the old law there was even a provision for the cleansing of a leper, though leprosy was considered incurable. That shows the heart of God. He does not box Himself in by what people say is impossible. He makes a way for His mercy and power to operate when He chooses. A policy that says no refund is a human rule, but it does not limit what God can do. He can open doors, soften hearts, and provide answers you cannot yet see. Please do not hesitate to humbly ask the money order company and the landlord if anything can still be done, keep your receipt and any paperwork, and at the same time bring the whole matter to the Lord and give Him room to work as He desires.
Scripture also shows that God deeply cares about financial distress. The believers in Jerusalem once went through severe poverty and hardship, and God moved other believers, even those who themselves had little, to give with joy to help them. The Lord sees your needs, He knows what it is to have little and to wonder how needs will be met, and He is able to stir provision in unexpected ways. The very fact that someone paid your rent without you expecting it is a reminder that He can provide through the kindness of others, often when we least expect it.
Above all, I want to remind you of the greatest provision God has made. There is only one way for our sin and guilt to be taken away, and that is through Jesus Christ, His only Son, who died and rose again. Just as those who were bitten in the wilderness were told simply to look at the bronze serpent lifted up and they would live, so we are called to look in faith to Jesus lifted up on the cross. No other road leads to forgiveness and peace with God. If you have not already, put your trust fully in Him as your Savior and Lord, and know that His righteousness is credited to all who believe.

Father in heaven, thank You for Your care for this dear one. You see the financial pressure, the limited income, and the concern over this money order. You know the desire to move closer to family and to have a safe and stable home. I ask that You would provide wisdom for every practical step, favor with those who can help with the money order, and daily provision for every need. Bring peace to this heart and guide the way forward, whether to stay or to move, and open the right door at the right time. Most of all, draw this heart ever closer to Jesus, Your only provision for forgiveness and eternal life, and let Your presence be their comfort and strength. In the name of Jesus, amen.
