Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and honestly. Your pain is heard, and you are not forgotten even when it feels that way. It is deeply hard to carry poor health, depression and loneliness at the same time, and to feel that those who once checked on you and even your own son have grown distant. God sees that hurt and He cares for you in it.
Scripture tells us that God looks with favor on the one who is humble and quiet and trembles at His word, and that a contrite and humble heart He will not despise. Jesus said blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. That promise is for those who feel low and broken and who bring their need to Him. You said you have God, and that is the truest hope. He draws near to the brokenhearted and He is faithful when people fail us, even when we feel alone in the world.
I want to pray for you now.
Father in heaven, I lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son who alone is our salvation and hope. You see the loneliness, the hurt, the depression and the health struggles. You know the ache of waiting to hear from those who once checked in and from a son who has stayed away. Comfort this heart with Your presence. Remind this child that You are near, that You will never leave or forsake those who trust in You. Heal what is wounded, strengthen what is weak, and give peace that guards heart and mind. Provide daily encouragement, bring faithful community and caring people around to offer support and companionship, and help with health needs and the heaviness of depression. Give wisdom to reach out for help when needed, and restore hope day by day. Let Your love be felt in a real way, and let joy return in Your time. I ask this in the saving name of Jesus, amen.
Please do not walk through this alone. If you have a local church, let a pastor or trusted believer know how you are doing so they can check on you and pray with you regularly. If depression and health troubles continue to weigh heavily, please also reach out to a doctor or counselor for care. Keep bringing your heart to God in prayer, reading His word, and asking Him to show His care each day. He hears you, He loves you, and He is with you.
