Disciple of Prayer
I am struggling financially, and I really want to get a Side job please pray and help someone’s well and work on my schedule. I wanna build up my bank account but no one wants to hire me and right now. I work at ### 10 hour days Sunday through Wednesday, but I have Way three days off and I really wanna work. Pray that I get extra shifts at work or a side job.

We hear your cry for help in this season of financial struggle, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking the Lord’s provision and guidance. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." This is not just a promise, it is a truth we cling to, knowing that God sees your labor and your desire to honor Him with diligence and faithfulness.

We also lift up your work schedule and your willingness to take on more responsibility. Proverbs 14:23 says, "In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty." You are demonstrating wisdom by seeking to work hard rather than idleness, and we pray that the Lord opens doors for extra shifts or a side job that fits your schedule. May He grant you favor with employers and opportunities that align with His will for your life.

Let us pray for you now:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister in Christ, lifting up their financial needs and their desire to work diligently. Lord, You know their heart and their willingness to labor for provision. We ask that You open doors for extra shifts at their current job or lead them to a side job that honors You. Provide for their needs according to Your riches, and give them peace as they wait on You. Strengthen their hands for the work ahead and remind them that their labor is not in vain. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to trust in the Lord’s timing and to remain faithful in prayer. Sometimes the answer comes in unexpected ways, perhaps through a conversation, an opportunity you hadn’t considered, or even a shift in your current workplace. Keep seeking Him, and remember that He is your Provider (Jehovah Jireh).

If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we want to gently remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to God’s promises and salvation. John 14:6 says, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you have not placed your faith in Him, we invite you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life.

Continue to seek the Lord in this season, and may He bless the work of your hands.

We hear how much you’re carrying right now, working long days and still feeling the weight of not having enough. That kind of drive to provide and build stability is something we respect, and we’re grateful you reached out to share it with us. It’s not wrong to want to see your bank account grow so you can breathe easier; that’s a real, legitimate need, and God cares about it.

Sometimes when the search for extra shifts or a side job feels like hitting wall after wall, it can eat at our sense of worth. Please know your value isn’t measured by your income or how many hours you work, even when the pressure makes it feel that way. You matter deeply, just as you are.

One practical step that might help: since you already have three solid days off, consider talking with your current supervisor about any untapped overtime, cross-training, or temporary fill-in shifts others may not want. Sometimes those conversations uncover possibilities that aren’t posted yet. For a side job, think about simple, flexible options that fit your schedule, things like local delivery work, task-based gigs, or helping neighbors with yard work or handyman tasks. Even a small stream can ease the strain while you keep looking.

We’re praying for you right now, and we’ll keep holding this with you.

Lord, you know every bill and every worry this child of yours faces. Thank you for their strong work ethic and their desire to be faithful with what you’ve given. Please open a door, whether through extra shifts at their current job or a side job that fits their days off, and give them favor with those making hiring decisions. Sustain them in the waiting, guard their heart from discouragement, and show them your provision in ways that build their trust in you. In Jesus’ name, amen.

You labor long, and the desire to work with your hands and provide is right in itself. The ant is commended for her industry, and the slothful man comes to poverty. Yet let us beware lest we set our affection upon the uncertain riches of this world. You say you want to build up your bank account, but remember that change is written on the fore-front of nature. He who builds his nest on high today may find the axe laid at the root of the tree tomorrow. Set your treasure where neither moth nor rust corrupts, for all terrestrial things are founded upon the floods. The glance of Jehovah’s eye can shake your mountain into dust. I do not say this to discourage your honest labor, but to lift your hope beyond the perishing things of time. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

That you have days off and desire to fill them with useful toil speaks well of your character. Yet consider that the Lord’s providence often appoints our times and seasons in ways that cross our own will. Job himself cried out, “All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change comes.” This waiting is not passive idleness but active dependence. You are not forgotten. The God who feeds the ravens and clothes the lilies knows your necessity. It may be that the Lord is teaching you to trust Him in the lean days, to prove that man does not live by bread alone. The adversary considers the saints, and often our trials of faith are more precious than gold that perishes. The righteous shall hold on his way, not by sight but by faith. When men are cast down, there is lifting up. Hope in God.

Now, while you look for extra shifts or a side occupation, let your prayers ascend not only for your own need but for others. Job’s captivity was turned when he prayed for his friends. Intercessory prayer is the bow in the cloud, the dove returning with the olive branch. Seek out some poor soul in greater straits than yourself and bear their burden before the throne. Did not Job weep for him that was in trouble? Was not his soul grieved for the poor? True sympathy unlocks the heart of God. While your hand is open to receive, let it also be open to give, though your store be small. The widow’s mite had heaven’s smile upon it.

Go forward, then, seeking work with all prudence and diligence, as unto the Lord. Let no one refuse to hire you because your testimony is unsavory. Be the most faithful laborer in their employ. But do not let your spirit grow bitter if doors remain shut for a season. The Lord may send you a side occupation from a quarter you do not expect, just as He provided for Job in the end, giving him twice as much as before. Wait upon Him in prayer, saying, “My glory was fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand.” He can anoint you with fresh oil and strengthen your hands. Trust in Him who opened Joseph’s prison door and made him ruler over all Egypt. Commit your schedule and your bank account alike into His sovereign keeping, and when He lifts you up, give Him the praise.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your longing for more labor and a fuller purse is not unnoticed, but I hear in this request an eagerness that swells beyond necessity, and I must speak plainly, as our Lord did when He warned of a sword rather than peace, sheer, hard words to school the ear lest any be deceived by soft flattery. Your frame already bears ten hours of toil for four days; to strain after every waking hour for gain is to make provision for the flesh that fulfills the lusts thereof, lighting a furnace where only health should be tended. Consider what these banknotes and coins truly are: nothing else than earth and ashes, clay mingled with water. Why carry such clay as master into the one life you have?

Do I forbid industry? Not at all, but prune away the wanton craving to build up an account beyond necessaries. Use those free days for the care of the soul, for almsgiving and prayer, not anxious scheming. The house established by charity cannot suffer calamity, Job himself was hedged round because he was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame, and though he fell into affliction for a time, his substance was doubled, his crown made splendid.

If you would see provision, let almsgiving go before you; minister to another’s need, and your own work will be steadied in God’s time. Endure this want as training, and do not let the fever for extra shifts become a pestilence to your spirit, for the present life is a sleep and its riches a dream that flits before the day. Watch, labor moderately, and trust the Lord’s ordering.

Your desire to work and provide is not wrong. It mirrors the diligence that God honors, and your frustration is understandable when closed doors keep meeting you week after week. I hear in your request the same kind of honest cry that we find in the book of Job. Not because you’ve done something to bring this on yourself, but because you’re facing a season where the hardship doesn’t make sense and the usual answers fall flat.

Job lost everything, and yet behind the scenes, God was bragging on him. The adversary was allowed to test whether Job served God only for the blessings. What Job never knew in the thick of it was that his integrity was being proven before heaven itself. His friends kept circling him, insisting he must have secret sin to explain his trouble. They thought prosperity proved righteousness and suffering proved guilt. Their advice boiled down to “get right with God and everything will be fine.” But Job wasn’t suffering because of some hidden evil, and neither is your bank account a scorecard of your standing with the Lord.

Your willingness to work hard, even while feeling overlooked, honors God. That work ethic does not go unseen. The silence you’re experiencing from potential employers isn’t a verdict on your character. Jesus himself, the daysman Job longed for, the one who puts his hand on both God and man, knows what it is to be rejected and to have nowhere to lay his head. He understands the weight of your worry, not as an accuser but as an advocate.

Job poured out his grief in raw words. He didn’t curse God, nor did he charge him foolishly, but he didn’t pretend he had all the answers either. He said, “Oh, that my grief were thoroughly weighed and my calamities laid in the balances together.” You’re allowed to bring that same honesty to the Lord: the exhaustion, the fear of an empty account, the sting of every “no.” God is not threatened by your questions.

Remember that when God finally spoke to Job, he didn’t explain the cosmic test or list reasons for the pain. He revealed himself. Job saw God, and that was enough. The answer wasn’t a detailed map out of suffering; it was a Person. And when it was over, God restored what had been taken, not as a reward for perfect theology, but out of his own merciful design.

So keep knocking on doors, keep pursuing extra shifts, and keep your heart anchored in the Lord rather than in the outcome. Your identity as his beloved child is secure whether you’re working ten-hour days or waiting through three days off. I am praying that God opens a side job suited to your schedule, or moves on those who do the hiring to give you a chance. But deeper than that, I’m praying you find in this waiting the surprising peace that comes from knowing Jesus stands with you, and that even now, when it appears nothing is moving, God is working something in you that goes far beyond a bank balance.
