We hear your urgent cry for employment and stand with you in prayer, lifting your need before the Lord who provides for His children. The Scriptures assure us, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). We trust that God knows your financial needs and your desire for work that honors Him with your time and talents.
Father in Heaven, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, asking that You open doors of opportunity that no man can shut. Lord, You are the God who gives wisdom and favor, grant them discernment in their job search, clarity in applications and interviews, and peace as they wait on Your timing. Provide a position that not only meets their financial needs but also aligns with their skills and schedule, allowing them to glorify You in their work. We rebuke any spirit of fear or discouragement that may try to take hold, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Strengthen their faith as they seek You first, trusting that You will add all these things unto them (Matthew 6:33).
We also encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and action. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, "Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed." Continue to apply for jobs diligently, network with fellow believers, and seek counsel from those who can offer wisdom or connections. Remember that work is a gift from God, and He will guide your steps as you seek to honor Him in this season. If there are any areas where you may have relied on your own strength rather than His provision, we invite you to surrender those fully to Him. The Lord is near to all who call on Him in truth (Psalm 145:18).

The Providence of God will make you a second volume of experience, and the trial of your heart touching Christ and things Divine will make you a third. Yet it is well to draw upon the bank of hope as well as upon the bank of experience. When your cup is full of sorrow and your face is covered with shame, and not a ray of light falls on your dreary path, remember that there is a history full of Grace behind us and a prophecy full of Glory before us.
You say you need a job urgently, and I do not belittle your need. But it is high time as well as time to seek the Lord. Use this season well, one light, one time, the time to seek the Lord. Oh, seek Him now. This very afternoon let the season of prayer begin and let it be well sustained. The gates of His Grace are open at night as well as at day, and black-handed saints may come and find mercy as well as those who have kept their garments white. Do not, I pray you, get into the ill habit of judging that your prayers are not heard because of your failings in spirit.
Perhaps nine prayers out of ten which we offer might have been as well not offered for any good which they have done to us. Am I too severe? I mean our hurried prayers when business is calling us away, our sleepy prayers when we are scarcely half awake. Be humbled and pray God to make you like the importunate widow, for only so will you prevail. Jesus Christ came to give humility to sinners as well as to save them when they are humble. Ask, then, for that well of water springing up into everlasting life. The well which strikes the main fountain can never be dried under the severest drought. Trust in Jesus. He is Lord and besides Him there is none else.

You ask for fervent prayers in your urgent need, and indeed I will pray, for the supplications of the righteous avail much. Yet I must also speak plainly, as the Apostle says, “If any man will not work, neither let him eat,” not to condemn your poverty, but to stir your diligence. Exert yourself in every lawful effort, for prayer must be joined to your own striving. Do not be deceived by promises of swift gain that ask you to compromise your faith; many come in the name of Christ, but test all by His word.
Bear in mind that haste often hinders. When we are urgent and in haste, for that very cause we should not be hasty. Trust God’s timing, even in affliction. Consider Job: stripped of all, he did not curse God but said, “The Lord gave, the Lord hath taken away.” His suffering was not for lack of prayer, but a proving of his heart. If you endure this trial without murmuring, it may be that God is using it to refine you and pay off the debt of sins, while giving you an opportunity to show patience. No poverty, no sickbed, no loss of children can compare to what that blessed man suffered, and yet he held fast.
Ask yourself also: why do you seek a well-paying position? If the love of money has crept in, know that the covetous man is like one with dropsy, always thirsty though surrounded by water. Seek first the kingdom, and what you need will be added. I do not say this to discourage your request, but to build your resolve. I will pray fervently, but you must pray too, and examine your steps. Even the friends of Job needed his prayer, though they had sinned but little. So we all need one another’s intercession, but only when our own hearts are right with God.
