We stand in agreement with your declaration of the power and authority of Jesus Christ over all the works of the devil and Satan. The scriptures are clear that through Christ’s victory on the cross, the enemy has been defeated, and his plans are brought to nothing. As it is written in 1 John 3:8, "He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil." And in Colossians 2:15, we read, "Having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it."

We also affirm that Jesus Christ has silenced the enemy, for the Word declares in Revelation 12:10, "I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, 'Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.'" The devil’s accusations hold no power over those who are in Christ, for there is no condemnation for those who are in Him (Romans 8:1).

However, we must also remember that while Satan’s defeat is certain, he still seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) until the final day when he will be cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:10). Until then, we are called to resist him, standing firm in our faith (1 Peter 5:8-9). We must put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and walk in the authority Christ has given us, knowing that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the victory we have in Your Son, Jesus Christ. We declare that by His blood, the works of the devil are destroyed, and his plans are brought to nothing. Lord, we ask that You silence every lying voice of the enemy in our lives and in the lives of Your people. Strengthen us to stand firm in Your truth, to resist the devil, and to walk in the authority You have given us. Protect us from every direct and indirect attack of the enemy, and let Your light expose every darkness. We rebuke every scheme of Satan in Jesus’ mighty name, and we declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may walk in victory and proclaim Your goodness to the world. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing on the promises of God’s Word, knowing that the battle has already been won. Walk in faith, speak life, and trust in the finished work of Christ. If there are specific areas where you feel the enemy is at work, bring them before the Lord in prayer, and stand on His Word. The devil may roar like a lion, but he is a defeated foe, and we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37).

We hear the urgency in your cry, and we’re joining you right now in asking Jesus to do exactly what you’ve declared. The enemy’s noise can feel overwhelming, but his power is no match for Christ’s finished work. Sometimes when the spiritual pressure intensifies, it helps to remind ourselves that victory isn’t something we strain to achieve; it’s already secured, and our part is to rest in that truth while actively resisting the lies that come.

One practical thing we’ve seen make a big difference is to speak these kinds of prayers aloud with one or two trusted, prayerful friends. The enemy thrives in isolation, but simply having another believer stand with you and agree in Jesus’ name can bring a tangible shift. If you have a pastor or a small group you feel safe with, consider asking them to join you in specific, brief prayer over this. And after you’ve prayed, try to resist the pull to keep mentally cataloging every possible scheme; instead, fill your mind with simple worship or a psalm that lifts your heart back to Christ’s authority.

Lord Jesus, we thank you that you have already defeated every power of darkness. We ask you to do exactly what this child of yours is asking: stop the enemy’s plans, quiet every accusing voice, and break every influence that does not come from you. Shelter their mind and spirit, and fill this space with your peace, the peace that passes understanding and guards hearts and minds in you alone. In your mighty name, amen.

There is no stronger truth to grasp in the hour of conflict than this, that by the Cross our Lord has utterly broken the usurpation of the evil one. He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. The ransom has been found, the payment has been made, and the commandment has gone out from the throne itself, "Deliver him from going down to the Pit." What a grip this gives the soul upon the promise of the living God!

You see, when Christ was lifted up, that very hour saw the deathblow to the devil's tyranny. Sin, death, and Hell found their Conqueror in the bleeding Lamb, and He wrought a victory on behalf of all His people. The arch-enemy stands a vanquished foe, and though he may roar out his threats, the chain is in the hand of Omnipotence. As the Lord said to the accuser concerning Job, He sets the bounds which the proudest fiend cannot pass. Every assault, whether direct or by some winding connection, lies within the fence of His overruling, and it must answer His purpose for our chastening and final good.

Though our experience here is variable, and we often feel the smoke of battle, yet the stronghold stands eternally the same. You are not to build a confidence of your own making; true comfort is a real work of the Spirit, grasping with living tendrils the promise. We face a spoiled adversary, and by the blood of the Lamb, the weakest saint shall bruise Satan under foot shortly. Up and take the spoil! Let the mouth of the enemy be silenced by the shield of faith, for He who is in you is greater than all the roaring of the dragon. Rest in this, that your deliverance from the power of sin is as much the Lord's work as your deliverance from its guilt, and He who has begun the good work will perfect it until the day of Christ.

You ask that Christ completely stop all the works of the devil for all time, silencing his mouth and halting every plan forever. This is a holy desire, but be careful how you pray. Our Lord Himself was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted; He gave the enemy a handle, not to surrender to him, but to teach us the way of victory. The devil cannot touch even swine without permission from God above. So do not imagine that you can command the powers of darkness as though the final day were already here. Until the Lord returns, the struggle remains, and we are called to watch and to fight.

The greater deliverance is not that every outward assault be removed, but that no evil work take root within you. The apostle Paul was delivered from the lion’s mouth, yet still he looked for deliverance from every evil work, and was ready to be offered up. Cry out then for Christ to guard your heart, to strengthen you against the defilements of sin, and to make you sober and alert. The devil attacks most boldly when he finds a soul alone and sleeping in worldly thoughts. Flock together with the faithful, shake off every spiritual drunkenness, and adorn your life with good deeds. Bear the image of the heavenly by practicing all goodness.

When you live in this way, the mouth of the wicked one is silenced indeed, not because he ceases to roar, but because his accusations find nothing in you. The Lord has already put an end to the devil’s tyranny for those who abide in Him. Hold fast to the Gift you have received, and do not betray it by a slack and careless life. Then the prince of this world will have nothing in you, and you will see that Christ is your deliverer from every evil, both now and unto eternal life.
