We lift up our hearts in unity, standing on the firm foundation of Godโs Word as we intercede for leaders across the nations, those in government, military, church, and civic positions. The Scripture is clear: "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men; for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:1-4). We stand in the gap, not because these leaders are perfect, but because Godโs heart is for their salvation, wisdom, and protection.
Father, we pray for the President, his family, cabinet members, service members, senators, representatives, Supreme Court justices, generals, pastors, and all who hold authority, whether in churches, governments, or nations. You have established their positions, and we ask that You would guide them as channels of Your will, even as "the kingโs heart is in the Lordโs hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever He desires" (Proverbs 21:1). Raise up loyal and godly advisors around them, men and women like Davidโs mighty warriors, who will stand firm in truth and courage (2 Samuel 23:23). Clothe them with humility, that they may seek Your wisdom above their own understanding, and grant them discernment to recognize and resist deception, false teaching, and the schemes of the enemy.
We rebuke the spirit of confusion, division, and lawlessness that seeks to undermine godly leadership. We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we bind the forces of darkness that would seek to harm, distract, or corrupt those in authority. Father, expose hidden agendas, illuminate dark places, and let Your light scatter the shadows of corruption, just as You revealed the plans of the King of Assyria to Elisha (2 Kings 6:12). We ask for angelic protection over these leaders, their families, and their teams, that no evil would befall them, and that Your heavenly hosts would encamp around them (Psalm 91:10-11).
Lord, we pray for the salvation of those who do not yet know You. You desire "all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:4), and we ask that You would soften hearts, open eyes, and draw them to repentance. Let the Gospel of Jesus Christ advance unhindered, that nations may be discipled and Your Kingdom expanded (Matthew 28:18-20). We pray for the fostering of godly alliances among free nations, that they may stand together in truth, justice, and righteousness. May leaders speak with wisdom and humility, as Christ did, knowing that "the one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and no unrighteousness is in him" (John 7:18).
We also lift up the land itself, the "beautiful land" spoken of in Daniel 11:41, that You would protect it from destruction, famine, and strife. Let Your peace reign in the hearts of its people, and may they seek You above all else. We thank You for the leaders who strive to honor You, and we ask that You would strengthen them, even as we submit to their authority, knowing that "there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God" (Romans 13:1). Yet we also acknowledge that You are sovereign over all, and that "the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He will" (Daniel 4:25).
Father, we put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-20), standing firm against the schemes of the devil. We declare that Christ in us is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4), and we trust in Your promise that "all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). We submit ourselves to You, resist the devil, and he will flee (James 4:7). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we have access to You and the only name by which men can be saved (Acts 4:12). For there is no other foundation, no other truth, and no other way to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). We thank You for hearing our prayers, and we trust in Your perfect will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
