My spouse

We lift your spouse before the Lord with hearts full of hope and faith, trusting in His divine mercy and grace. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 91:16, "With long life, I will satisfy him, and show him my salvation." We stand on this promise, believing that God desires to bless your spouse with a life filled with His presence, purpose, and longevity.

Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the gift of life and for the covenant of marriage, which You have established as a sacred union between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). We pray for this dear spouse, that You would surround them with Your protection, healing, and favor. Strengthen their body, mind, and spirit, Lord, and grant them the grace to walk in obedience to Your will. May they experience the fullness of life that You promise to those who love and serve You (John 10:10).

We also lift up this marriage before You, asking that You would deepen the bond between this couple. May their love for one another reflect the love Christ has for His church (Ephesians 5:25), and may their home be a place of peace, joy, and godly devotion. Help them to encourage one another in faith, to bear each other’s burdens, and to seek You together in all things.

Lord, if there are any areas in this marriage or in this spouse’s life that do not align with Your Word, we ask for Your conviction and correction. Reveal any sin, unforgiveness, or disobedience, and grant the grace to repent and turn back to You. We rebuke any spirit of sickness, premature death, or division that may seek to harm this union, and we declare that no weapon formed against this marriage or this life shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have access to You, Father. May Your will be done in this spouse’s life, and may Your name be glorified in all things. Amen.

Be encouraged, dear one. God hears your prayers and sees your heart. Continue to trust in Him, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you and your spouse (Philippians 1:6). Walk in faith, knowing that the Lord is your strength and your shield (Psalm 28:7). If there are areas in your marriage where you need to grow in godliness or forgiveness, seek the Lord together and allow His Word to guide you. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

We hear the love in your request, wanting your spouse to be blessed with a long life is a tender and beautiful prayer. We are grateful to stand with you in it, joining our hearts to yours before the Lord.

When we pray for a long life, we’re really asking for God’s goodness to unfold over many days: shared laughter, quiet companionship, the grace to weather trials together, and the joy of seeing His faithfulness one year after another. While none of us knows the number of our days, we can rest in the deep truth that every life held in Christ is secure, and every moment is already known and loved by Him.

Between now and whenever God calls your spouse home, may you both find simple, daily ways to treasure the life you have, speaking what you appreciate, forgiving freely, and entrusting each other over and over into the Father’s hands. You might even let your spouse know you’re praying this specifically for them; it can be a gift just to be reminded someone is bringing your name before the throne of grace.

Father, thank you for the gift of this spouse and for the love that prompted this request. We ask in Jesus’ name that you grant them health, protection, and many years of fruitful life. Surround them with your peace, and give this dear wife or husband steady confidence that you hold their future. May every day be rich with your presence, and may their life together magnify your goodness. In Jesus’ name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It should be our life to bless Him who gave us our life, and so your prayer for your spouse is itself a sweet offering of praise. You long for blessing upon the one dear to you, and in this you reflect the heart of our God, who delights to bless His children. No spiritual blessing comes to any man by chance, it all comes according to the eternal purpose of God which He purposed before the earth was. Life, with its length and its every breath, is in His hands, and it is worth while to live the most afflicted and tried life, so long as we know God and taste His love.

You cry out for long life in Jesus’ name, and this is a cry that reaches the throne. The God who makes us long for good things has already worked a great work in you, stirring you to intercede. Let this be your comfort: life is no longer sorrowful, even amid sorrow, when God is in it, its soul and crown. When life is real, life is earnest, and it must be both real and earnest when it is spent to the praise of the great and ever-blessed God. So pray on, and as you pray, cultivate perpetual gratitude, for this praising the Lord is both food and medicine, keeping up your spirits and softening your heart toward all around you.

Your spouse’s days are written in His book, and the blessing you seek is a covenant blessing. God will not suffer one single promise of the covenant to be unfulfilled, nor one single blessing of the covenant to be kept back. Let your life together be perpetually singing one great Psalm, trusting that He who gave His life for His Church does not love us any less now that He is ascended and enthroned. He still gives Himself for us, and His intercession exceeds our own. Be made a blessing by your intense and vehement prayers, and rest in this: the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

You ask prayer for your spouse to live a long life. That is a natural affection, yet I must remind you that the Law promised such things as long life on the earth, milk and honey, rest for the flesh, these were carnal blessings. But we have been called to far greater things: every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Immortality, adoption as sons, a share in the divine nature, these are the true riches.

Do not let the desire for many years dim the desire for eternal life. When our Lord spoke of the world to come, He did not promise length of days here below, but glory with Him. The patriarchs often saw the blessing deferred; they received the promises but did not enjoy their fulfillment in this age, for their portion was the world to come. So if God grants your spouse many years, receive it as a season for repentance, for almsgiving, for storing up treasure in heaven.

Otherwise, what profit is this present life if not used for our future gain? Do not be a slave to the love of this fleeting existence; rather, use every day to become rich in good works. I will indeed pray that your spouse be blessed with health and years, but far more that your household be found in the fullness of the blessing of the Gospel, that you both may walk in love, long-suffering, and every virtue, so that whether life be long or short, you may attain the eternal blessings that never fade.
