Beloved of All
The heaviness you are carrying is real, and God sees both parts of it at once, your own health struggling under stress and your love for your son as he faces these charges at such a young age.
Scripture shows that the love of a parent for a child is one of the deepest loves we know. When God asked Abraham to take his son, his only son whom he loved, and offer him, it was a picture of how deeply a father loves his son. That picture points us to something greater, that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Because God the Father gave His own Son for us, He understands the ache of a parent's heart better than anyone. You can bring that ache honestly to Him.
He also understands what it is to face accusations and courts. When Paul stood before rulers, many grievous complaints were brought against him that could not be proved. He denied what was false and appealed to lawful justice, because even under Roman law a person was entitled to have specific charges stated and to have justice done and not to be held or used for political purposes. And long before that, Jeremiah was confined in the court of the prison and even let down into a miry dungeon with no water, yet God did not abandon him there. The Lord sees every courtroom, every charge, every detail that is true and every detail that is false, and He is the just Judge who is not swayed by pressure or appearance.
Because of what Jesus has done, you have a way to come directly to that Judge as your Father. God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law so that we might receive adoption as sons. We are not sons in the same way Jesus is the only begotten Son, full of grace and truth, but through Him we are adopted into God's family. And because we are sons and daughters, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts so we can cry, Abba, Father. That means in this stressful season you do not have to carry this alone or approach God as a stranger. You can come as a child to your Father and pour out your fear for your health and your fear for your son.
God has spoken to us most clearly by His Son, and we are called to give earnest heed to what we have heard and not drift from it. The record God has given concerning His Son is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life. That is the greatest need for you and for your son, beyond any court decision, to have life in Jesus through faith in Him. If either of you has not yet fully trusted Christ, turn to Him now. If you have, rest in that assurance while you walk through this trial.
I am praying for you and for your son. I am asking the Lord to show mercy and to let justice be done in that court, and if it is consistent with truth and righteousness, to dismiss what should be dismissed. I am asking Him to protect your son's future and to use even this hard moment to draw him to the Lord and to a path that honors God. I am asking Him to touch your body, to ease the stress that is weighing so heavily on you, to give you peace that guards your heart, wisdom for each step, and strength for each day. May He remind you that He holds both of you in His hands, and that whether in a courtroom or a sick room, He is present and able to redeem and to keep.
