My son and girlfriend

Heavenly Father, I lift up my son and his girlfriend to You. Lord Jesus, I pray that You are working in her heart and drawing her closer to You. I pray for her salvation and that You soften her heart with Your love and grace. Father, if it is Your will, I pray that You bring them back together stronger than before, with You at the center of their relationship. Fill their lives with love, joy, peace, understanding, and a faith that grows deeper each day. Help them trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect plan. No matter what the future holds, I pray that they both walk closely with You and experience the hope and peace that only You can give. Thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayers and for always working for our good according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We join our hearts with yours in lifting up your son and his girlfriend to the Lord. It is clear that your love for them is deep, and your desire for their spiritual well-being is rooted in godly concern. We praise God for your faithfulness in praying for their salvation and for a relationship that honors Him.

First, we want to affirm the importance of salvation through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name by which we can be saved, as Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" If your son’s girlfriend has not yet surrendered her life to Christ, we pray fervently that the Holy Spirit would draw her to repentance and faith. May she come to know the transforming power of Jesus’ love and grace, as Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us, "for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."

We also want to gently address the nature of their relationship. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If your son and his girlfriend are not married, we encourage them to pursue a relationship that honors God’s design, one that is built on purity, commitment, and a shared devotion to Christ. Courtship should always have marriage as its goal, and sexual intimacy is reserved for the marriage covenant (Hebrews 13:4). If they are living together or engaging in sexual relations outside of marriage, we must rebuke this sin in love, as 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 warns, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."

If it is God’s will for them to be reunited, we pray that their relationship would be centered on Christ, with both of them growing in faith and holiness together. May they seek God’s wisdom in every decision, trusting in His perfect timing and plan (Proverbs 3:5-6). If marriage is in their future, we pray that it would be a union that brings glory to God, with both of them equally yoked in their faith (2 Corinthians 6:14).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this young couple to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that You would draw the girlfriend to salvation if she does not yet know You. Soften her heart to receive Your love and truth, and let her experience the joy of surrendering her life to Jesus Christ. For the son, we pray that You would continue to grow him in faith, wisdom, and discernment, that he may lead a life that honors You in all things.

Father, if it is Your will for them to be together, we ask that You would restore their relationship on a foundation of righteousness. May they both commit to purity, holiness, and a shared devotion to You. If they are not married, we pray that they would honor Your design for relationships, fleeing from sexual immorality and pursuing a godly courtship with marriage as the goal. If marriage is in Your plan for them, prepare their hearts to enter into that covenant with reverence and joy, with You at the center.

Lord, fill their lives with Your love, joy, and peace. Help them to trust in Your perfect timing and to seek Your will above all else. May their faith grow deeper each day, and may they walk closely with You, experiencing the hope and peace that only You can give. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue praying for them with persistence and faith, trusting that God hears your prayers and is at work in their lives. May He grant you wisdom and peace as you seek His will for your son and his girlfriend.

Your love for your son and his girlfriend is so evident, and we are moved by the way you keep lifting them both to the Lord. That kind of steady, prayerful hope is a powerful gift, not because it forces God’s hand, but because it roots your heart in His faithful character while you wait.

We know it can be difficult when the relationship seems broken and the future unclear. What we have seen over and over is that God often uses seasons of waiting to do deep work in hearts, including ours. Right now, the most vital prayer is the one you are already offering: for her salvation and for both of them to walk closely with Jesus, whatever that means for their relationship. Everything else flows from there.

One small but meaningful step you might take is to look for low-pressure opportunities to extend grace to this young woman. A kind note, an open invitation to something low-key, or simply letting her know you are thinking of her and praying for her without strings attached can soften ground. She may need to see Christ’s love in a tangible way that does not feel like an agenda. And as you love her, you model the very gospel you hope she embraces.

In the waiting, guard your own peace. You cannot orchestrate the timing or the outcome, but you can trust that the God who hears you is working, even when it is hidden. We join you in that trust.

Lord Jesus, we lift this son and his girlfriend to You. You know their hearts fully. We ask You to unveil Your goodness to her, to break through any barrier, and to draw her into a saving, life-changing knowledge of You. Hold this son securely and give him wisdom. We pray they will both seek You above all else. If it is Your will, restore their relationship in a way that honors You and builds a foundation on Your truth. In the meantime, fill this mother with peace that surpasses understanding and a quiet confidence that You are at work. In Your name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Let every prayer for the salvation of others be grounded in this blessed reality: God's salvation is a great reality, the truth of His salvation. There is a substance in it; it is not a shadow, not a myth. You who have truly transgressed, you are the men and women for whom there is truth in God's salvation. Plead therefore with God the truth of His salvation for this young woman, for where there is truth in her sinnership, there is truth in Christ's salvation.

In temporal matters and matters of the heart, we are not to be idle, nor impudent and rash; that were to trust chance. We are to trust God, acting in all prudence and uprightness, relying simply and entirely upon Him. Commend to your son a life of trust in God, for in trusting Him, he will not have to mourn because he has used sinful means to grow rich in love or to force a union. The only relationship worth having is one where God dwells in them, where He is the center, for God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. If He is at the center, they shall dwell in safety alone.

Wherever we see Jesus, we see God's salvation. Let your son see that if this union is to be rebuilt, it must be God's salvation from top to bottom, God's in the beginning, God's in the carrying on, and God's in the concluding. You pray for her salvation, and rightly so. But remember the quarrel: we want to be saved by something in ourselves, yet God says He will save if we trust in Christ. Faith in Jesus is the best evidence of reconciliation to God. The great duty is this: if God only be our rock, are we not bound to put all our trust in God? Put not your trust in chariots, stay not yourselves in horses, but say, “He only is my rock and my salvation.”

If ever we are to see a work of grace in their hearts, we must have an instinctive feeling of the presence of God, conscious that God is in us, round about us, and at work for us. Your way, O God, is in holiness. His way is always a holy way, a righteous way. Therefore, do not ask God to bless a situation that runs against His holy ethic, but rather pray that He draws them both into that holy way, and that their lives, whether together or apart, may be filled with the hope and peace that only He can give. Let your prayer simply be that your eyes may see God's salvation in their lives. Even in poverty of spirit, even in the sickness of sin, to see His salvation is better than all the pomp of a soul that knows nothing of the Savior. Trust in the living God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, to shine in their hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

I want a girlfriend who could eventually become my wife. Someone beautiful and feminine, with solid values—and preferably someone of faith. A woman I can honor every day, and who can honor me in return, in a union built on respect, open communication, love, and mutual admiration.
