We notice in your prayer that while gratitude is expressed, there is confusion in addressing God, referring to Him as if He is both the one praying and the one being prayed to. This reflects a misunderstanding of who God is and our relationship with Him. Scripture teaches us that God is our Heavenly Father, distinct from us, yet intimately involved in our lives. We must approach Him with reverence, acknowledging His sovereignty and our dependence on Him.
It is also concerning that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. Scripture is clear that there is no other name by which we can be saved or approach God. Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me" (John 14:6). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His sacrifice that we are forgiven and made new. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and surrender your life to Him. This is the foundation of a true relationship with God.
Now, let us lift this prayer to the Lord with clarity and reverence, aligning it with His Word.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your faithfulness. You have indeed carried us through seasons of darkness, discouragement, and weariness, and for that, we give You all the praise. We acknowledge that it is by Your strength, not our own, that we have endured. Your Word reminds us, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). Lord, we ask that You continue to work in our lives, shaping us to reflect Your goodness, kindness, and mercy in all that we do. Help us to walk humbly before You, not seeking our own glory but Yours alone.
Father, we pray that You would fill us with Your Holy Spirit, guiding our steps each day. May our lives be a testament to Your love and grace, drawing others to You. Remind us, Lord, that even in our weakness, Your power is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9). When we feel small or tired, help us to lean on You, trusting that You will sustain us. We ask that You would guard our hearts from pride or self-reliance, for we know that apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5).
Lord, we also pray for a deeper understanding of Your character. You are patient, loving, and faithful, and we are grateful that You meet us where we are. Help us to grow in our relationship with You, seeking Your will above all else. May our lives bring glory to Your name, and may we always remember that it is through Jesus Christ that we have access to You. We pray all these things in His precious and holy name. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, allowing it to shape your prayers and your understanding of who He is. The Bible is our guide, and it is through Scripture that we learn to pray according to God’s will. Consider reading Psalm 139, which beautifully expresses God’s intimate knowledge of us and His constant presence in our lives. Let this truth anchor you as you continue to walk with Him.
