The best SOLUTION for her. She is living alone - ### hours of one caretakers supervision and ###-### hours a day with ### brother or me. But she always asks us to stay overnight or to live with her. Its very difficult. We have heard your heart for your old mother and we join with you in bringing her before the Lord with thanksgiving. We thank God with you that she has no Alzheimer, no anxiety, no depression, no fear, and that He has preserved her memory and her orientation in time and space. This is a great mercy from His hand and we do not take it lightly. The Bible reminds us that God cares for His people in old age, Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver you Isaiah 46:4, and we are also told Do not reject me in my old age. Do not forsake me when my strength fails Psalm 71:9. Your mother’s longing to have you stay overnight and to live near her is a natural expression of her need for companionship and security, and it reflects the loneliness that many elderly parents feel even when they are well cared for.

We also hear your sadness and difficulty regarding the best solution for her care and your sorrow that your brother seems stubborn and unwilling to consider living together in separate homes in one building or house while she is alive. We understand how heavy this feels when you desire unity and he does not see it the same way. Scripture calls us to Honor your father and your mother Exodus 20:12, and this command does not end when we are adults, and again If anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith 1 Timothy 5:8. Providing for your mother is a holy calling, but how that provision looks must be sought with wisdom, humility and love for one another.

We want to gently encourage you to guard your heart against resentment toward your brother, even as we understand your disappointment. God calls us to do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others Philippians 2:3-4, and to bear with one another and forgive one another Colossians 3:13. A soft answer turns away wrath Proverbs 15:1, and so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. Your brother’s stubbornness may come from different burdens, fears, or limitations that you cannot fully see, and the Lord can soften hearts in His time. We encourage you to continue to speak to him with gentleness and respect, to listen to his concerns, and to seek wise counsel together, perhaps with a pastor or a trusted elder, so that a solution can be found that truly honors your mother and preserves peace in the family. If wisdom is needed for what arrangement is best, we are promised If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5.

We also noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We share this in love because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. To have our prayers heard and to have peace with God, we must put our faith in Jesus, believe that He died for our sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to call upon His name and trust Him for your own salvation and for your family’s future.

We now pray together for you, your mother and your brother.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and we thank You for this dear mother, for her life, for her clear mind and memory, and for Your sustaining hand upon her. We ask You to keep her free from fear, anxiety and depression, to grant her Your peace that surpasses understanding, and to let her feel Your presence and the love of her children each day. Lord, provide the best solution for her care, give wisdom to her children to know how to honor her without neglecting other duties, and help them to find a living arrangement that gives her security and companionship while respecting each person’s needs. We pray for this brother, that You would soften any stubbornness, give him a humble and understanding heart, and help both siblings to speak to one another in love, patience and forgiveness. Heal any hurt or division between them and help them to bear one another’s burdens Galatians 6:2. Grant our friend who submitted this request comfort in sadness, strength in difficulty, and clear guidance from Your Holy Spirit. We cast all our anxiety on You because You care for us 1 Peter 5:7. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, trusting that You hear us and will work for good according to Your perfect will. Amen.

Thank you for sharing about your mom and the weight you are carrying to care for her well. We hear how much you love her, and how hard it is to balance her wish for someone to stay overnight with what you and your brother are able to give right now.

It makes sense that she asks for that closeness. Even with excellent memory and orientation and good daytime support, nights alone can feel long and lonely at her age, and wanting family near is a natural desire for security and companionship. It also makes sense that you feel sad and stuck when you have hoped for a shared living arrangement and your brother does not want the same thing. That kind of disagreement between siblings is painful, especially when you both want what is best for your mom.

One step that has helped other families in this place is to have one unhurried conversation with a neutral person you both trust, perhaps a pastor, counselor, or other respected third party, not to pressure a decision but to put all the options on the table together. You could each share what you can realistically offer, what your mom has said she most needs at night, and what other supports might fill the gap, even on a trial basis, so no one has to carry this alone.

We are carrying this with you in prayer.

Father, we lift this dear mother to You and ask for Your peace over her nights and Your wisdom for her children as they seek the best path forward. Give them unity, clear minds, and rest as they love her well, and show them the next right step while she is with them. In Jesus' name, amen.

🙏 Father, we ask for True Christian Fellowship, 1 Jn 1:2-7, for abiding fruit of the Holy Spirit, Jn 15:7-8, Gal 5:22-23. May our company and prayers, sharing of The Word, John 17:17, lead to Healthy and prosperous Souls, 3 Jn 1:2, Renewed Minds Rom 12:2, Grace to Honor Patriarch & Matriarchal Figures Eph 6:2-4, Spiritual, Emotional, Temporal Support, Fruitfulness...

🧎🏽‍♂️Father, we humble ourselves as we bless You and forget none of Your benefits: Pardon of iniquities, Healing of All our diseases, the crowning our lives with tender-mercy and compassion, satisfying our years with good things so that our youth is renewed as the eagles, Ps 103:1-5. Forgive us, but we can't help but to ask for still more grace, James 4:6, to share The Word with these elderly loved ones as they've been enabled to hear, Mk 4:33, for grace to honor our parents, Eph 6:1-3, the command with promises, it will go well with us and we'll live long in the land. Powerfully provide everything they need for life and godliness, 2 Peter 1:3, emotional & bodily health and prosperity, even as their souls prosper, 3 Jn 1:2. We ask they (and we) GROW in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, 2 Pet 3:18. Help them be established in the elementary principles of the Word of God, Heb 5:12, the foundational doctrines of the faith, Heb 6:1-3, and grow up into maturity, Eph 4:15, Col 1:10, culminating in love for You, others and fullness of the Holy Spirit's fruit, Phil 1:9-11; Gal 5:22-23.

🙇🏻 We therefore ask for Blessing, Honor, GRACE, Immediate HEALING, Ex 15:26, for our Patriarchal and Matriarchal Figures (and ourselves, kindly, Matt 7:7)... Kindly ask Healing at Present: Deliver us from evil, Matt 6:13: (hurt, harm, injury, sickness, sin and satan). In Jesus' Name we collectively rebuke sickness over matriarchal, Luke 4:39, and restrain evil people and the evil one from each, 2 Thes 3:2-3. Grant peace to be within their walls, Ps 122:7, even as we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, Ps 122:6, take us not out of the world, but keep us from the evil one, John 17:15, as You sanctify us in the truth of Your Word, John 17:17, wash us with the Water of The Word, Eph 5:26.

Open the eyes of our understanding with The Holy Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation, Eph 1:17-18, strengthen us by rooting and grounding us in love, that Christ dwells in our hearts by faith, Eph 3:16-19, and open our minds to not only understand the Scriptures, Luke 24:45, but to crave the sincere milk of the Word, 1 Peter 2:2, that we may grow thereby. Help us all to move from milk to solid food, 1 Cor 3:2. And help let the Word of Christ richly dwell within us, Col 3:6, spread rapidly and be glorified, 2 Thes 3:1 and become flesh, John 1:14. Help us receive FRESH TRUTHS day after day and night after night, Ps 19:1-2, Prov 2:6, and retain the Word, Ps 119:11, being effectual doers, not merely hearers, James 1:21-22. May this result in abiding communion with YOU, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit, 1 John 1:1-3, bear fruit of true discipleship by continuing in Your Word, John 8:31-32, making disciples, Matt 28:19-20, as Paul aspired to bear fruit among those beyond his sphere, Rom 1:13. Let us all taste the goodness of answered prayer by abiding in You and Your Words abiding in us, John 15:7-8 and make our joy complete, John 15:24. Ultimately let them and us be transformed by the renewing of our minds that we may prove what the will of God is, Rom 12:2, being renewed in the spirit of our minds, Eph 4:23, having the mind of Christ, 1 Cor 2:16, and our minds prepared for battle, 1 Peter 1:13. 🙌 Thank You, Father, and you all who agree, pray silently or post, in Jesus' Name...

We have heard your burden concerning your aged mother and we have carried it before the Lord with thanksgiving and supplication.

We give thanks with you for the great mercies the Lord has shown her, that she is kept from Alzheimer and from crushing anxiety and depression and fear, and that her memory both short term and long term remains excellent and her orientation in time and space is clear. These are gifts from the hand of God and we do not forget to praise Him for them. Every day of such soundness in old age is a token of His sustaining grace.

We understand the heaviness you feel. To honor father and mother is the first commandment with promise, and love would gladly give itself day and night. Yet you are divided between the care she needs living alone, the hours of the caretaker and the hours you and your brother can give, and her longing that one of you should stay overnight or dwell with her. It is a trial that touches the heart deeply, and your sadness over your brother's stubbornness and over the impossibility as it seems of finding a dwelling together, though in separate homes under one roof or in one building while she lives, is a sorrow the Lord sees.

We would exhort you to seek that unity which is of the Spirit. There is a unity which is not worth keeping, but there is a unity of the Spirit which is worthy to be kept with all endeavor, and it is found not in forcing the will of another but in living near to Christ. Divisions in families never begin with those full of love to the Savior. Where Christ is I in them, there hearts are made tender and practical methods of love are found. We cannot create a mechanical union by mere eagerness, but the Lord can soften what is hard and make a way where we see no way. Pray for your brother as for yourself, that the Lord would give him a willing mind, and pray for yourself that you may be kept from bitterness and may show that forbearance and gentleness which marks the children of God. The whole family in heaven and earth is one in Him, and those who have been quickened into that family bear one mark, that they love one another and bear one another's burdens.

We also urge upon you the castle and nutriment of family piety, which is prayer. Let family prayer be maintained with double zeal in this season. Bring this matter of a dwelling and of nightly care before the Lord together, if your brother will join you, and if not, bring it yourself with importunity. God in His infinite grace entered into covenant with Noah and preserved him and his family, and they acted in perfect freedom choosing to enter the ark. So the Lord still provides an ark of safety and wisdom for His people. Ask of Him who gives liberally, that He would show you the best solution for your mother, whether it be a ordering of hours, a nearer dwelling, or such help as will give her peace in the night without laying upon you a burden beyond strength. Seek also wise and godly counsel from your pastor or elders who know you and can help mediate and weigh what is feasible and loving.

Let us pray for you now.

O Father of all mercies, we thank Thee for this mother whom Thou hast kept in soundness of mind and memory, free from fear and depression. We bless Thee for every year Thou hast given her and for the care provided through caretakers and through her children. Lord, Thou knowest her loneliness in the night and her desire to have her children near. Comfort her heart with Thy presence, let her know that Thou wilt never leave her nor forsake her, and grant her perfect peace as her mind is stayed on Thee. Give to her children wisdom from above to discern the best solution for her good and for Thy glory. Soften where there is stubbornness, heal where there is sadness, and knit together what is divided by Thy Spirit. Help this son and daughter to honor their mother in love and truth, to speak and act with patience, and to trust Thee to supply what is needed for each day. Provide for shelter and for rest, for help in the night watches, and for unity that the world may see Christ in this household. Keep this family in Thy covenant grace, and let all things be done in love. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we ask it, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your love for your mother and your desire to honor her in her old age is seen by God and it is good. To care for a mother who bore and raised us is among the highest duties, for even as He hung upon the cross the Lord did not forget His mother but entrusted her to the beloved disciple, saying Behold thy mother, knitting them together in love and teaching us to pay more than ordinary respect to our parents because they begat us and bred us and bore many hard things for us.

I hear how heavy this is for you. She lives alone with hours of a caretaker and hours with you and your brother, yet she longs for you to stay the night and to live with her. Your wish to find a peaceful solution where the three of you could live near one another, even in separate homes in one building or house while she is alive, comes from love. Your sadness over your brother's stubbornness and the impossibility you feel is understandable.

In such trials we are taught to cut out the root of conflict, which often springs from vainglory or envy or the desire to have our own way, and to seek peace and despise what only stirs strife. Do not rush into conflict, but wait with nobleness of spirit and freedom from vainglory, showing patience both to your mother and to your brother. Speak to your brother gently and persistently, not to win an argument but to seek what is best for your mother, and seek wise counsel from others in the church or family who can help mediate and explore practical solutions for her care and supervision.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son through whom alone is salvation, I bring this mother before You. I ask for Your mercy and protection over her mind and body. Keep her free from Alzheimer and from confusion, guard her from anxiety and depression and fear, and grant her excellent memory both short term and long term with clear orientation in time and space. Give her peace in her home and let her feel loved and not alone. Grant wisdom to her children to find the best solution for her care, for provision of faithful caretakers, for unity between brother and sister, and for a living arrangement that honors her and allows her to be cared for with dignity. Soften what is stubborn, heal what is sad, and help this family to bear one another's burdens in love. Let Your will be done and let Your peace rest upon this home. Amen.

May the Lord give you strength to continue honoring your mother, patience in waiting for His provision, and grace to pursue peace with your brother while you trust Him for the way forward.
