We rejoice with you in thanksgiving for God's Word and for His grace and mercy and love that sustain us even in seasons of separation and longing. We hear your heart for your husband and we stand with you in intercession for him, agreeing together for the very work you have prayed from Ezekiel 36:26 where the Lord says I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. Only God can do this spiritual transplant, and we believe He is able to awaken and convert a heart that has grown hard or cold.
We affirm your desire for reconciliation and remarriage, for we believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as God designed it. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear apart, Matthew 19:6. The Lord has said For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, Malachi 2:16, and His heart is for healing and restoration where sin and brokenness have caused division. The apostle teaches in 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 that to the married the Lord commands that the wife not leave her husband, but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband, and that the husband not leave his wife. Your willingness to remain faithful and to pray for restoration rather than pursuing another relationship honors God and reflects His covenant love.
We also understand your concern about unhealthy influence from family surrounding him. Scripture teaches in Genesis 2:24 that Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. While we are to honor our parents, a husband is called to cleave to his wife and a marriage is to be established as its own covenant household under God. When family voices pull a man away from truth or from his covenant, it can harden his heart and confuse his steps. We pray that the Lord will give him discernment and courage to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, Romans 12:2, and to seek first the counsel of God over the opinions of others.
We encourage you to continue in steadfast, gentle intercession. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective, James 5:16. Continue to walk in grace and truth before him, for Peter encourages wives in 1 Peter 3:1 that even if any don't obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word, seeing your chaste behavior coupled with reverence. Keep abiding in the Word, guarding your own heart in purity and hope, trusting the Lord's timing and not striving in your own strength to force what only God can do.
We pray together with you now.
Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we have access to You and no other name by which we can be saved, Acts 4:12. We thank You for Your steadfast love and for the power of Your Word. We lift up this husband to You and ask for a mighty spiritual awakening and true conversion in his heart. Give him a new heart and put a new spirit within him, take away his heart of stone and give him a heart of flesh that is tender toward You and toward his covenant wife. Draw him to repentance and to faith in Jesus, that he may become a new creation in Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Lord, we ask You to break every unhealthy influence and ungodly counsel that surrounds him. Silence voices that do not align with Your truth and surround him instead with godly counsel and with Your Holy Spirit's conviction. Teach him to leave and cleave as You have ordained, and to take responsibility as a man of God for his marriage. Where there has been hurt, pride, or confusion, bring healing, humility, and clarity.
We pray for reconciliation that would honor You, and if it is Your will, for remarriage that restores what has been broken and displays Your redeeming power. Make this marriage a testimony of Your grace, built on Christ as the foundation, filled with forgiveness, as You have forgiven us in Ephesians 4:32. Give this dear sister strength to wait on You, to keep her heart guarded in peace, and to trust that You are working even when she cannot see. Let Your perfect will be done in both of their lives, and let all glory be Yours.
We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
In Jesus Christ name Amen, thank you
