My house will be taken soon for not being able to pay property taxes.

Beloved of All
My husband passed away 1 year ago. I'm 2 years behind on property taxes getting close to the 3rd year when the house will be taken. I'm age ###, live on social security. Since my husband passed I can't think straight. Our house is in a contract with another man who passed. I'm being bullied by the executor of his will. My name is not on the house but my husband's name is. I'm being pushed to move. I need God to give me direction. I'm so very lost.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer as you navigate this incredibly difficult season. The loss of your husband has left a deep void, and the weight of financial strain, legal pressures, and uncertainty about your home must feel overwhelming. But we serve a God who sees your tears, hears your cries, and promises to be your refuge in the storm. Let us seek Him together, trusting that He will make a way where there seems to be no way.

First, we want to gently remind you that your hope must be anchored in Jesus Christ, for He alone is the source of strength, wisdom, and provision. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18-19, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."* Even in this valley, God is near to you, and He will not abandon you. We also read in Matthew 11:28, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* You do not have to carry this burden alone—Jesus invites you to cast your cares upon Him.

We must also address the spiritual warfare at play here. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The bullying and pressure you are facing from the executor of the will are not of God. The Bible is clear in James 4:7, *"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."* We rebuke the spirit of intimidation and oppression in the name of Jesus and declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). You are not without rights or recourse, and we pray that God will raise up advocates—legal, financial, or otherwise—to stand with you in this battle.

Regarding your home, we recognize the deep emotional and practical significance it holds. This was not just a house but a home built with love and memories. We pray that God would intervene in the legal and financial complexities surrounding the property. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We ask the Lord to reveal a path forward—whether that is through financial provision, legal resolution, or even a new season of transition. If it is His will for you to remain in the home, we pray for supernatural provision to cover the back taxes and any other debts. If He is calling you to a new place, we pray for peace and clarity as you prepare for that transition.

We also want to encourage you to seek godly counsel. Proverbs 15:22 says, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* Reach out to your local church, a trusted pastor, or a Christian legal aid organization that can help you navigate the complexities of the will and property rights. You do not have to face this alone. Additionally, consider connecting with a grief support group or counselor who can help you process the loss of your husband. Grief can cloud our judgment, and it is important to have a safe space to heal.

Now, let us lift you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this precious sister in Christ. Lord, You see her heart—her grief, her fear, and her confusion. We ask that You would wrap Your arms around her and remind her that she is not alone. Father, we pray for supernatural provision over her finances. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too difficult for You. Provide for the back taxes, Lord, and open doors for financial relief. If it is Your will for her to keep her home, make a way where there seems to be no way. If You are calling her to a new season, give her peace and clarity as she prepares for that transition.

Father, we also pray for justice and protection in the legal matters surrounding the property. Expose any unrighteousness or bullying tactics, and raise up advocates who will stand with her. Give her wisdom to know her rights and the courage to pursue them. We rebuke the spirit of oppression and declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper.

Lord, we ask that You would heal her heart from the loss of her husband. Comfort her with Your presence and surround her with people who will love and support her. Help her to think clearly and make decisions that honor You. Give her strength for each day and remind her that You are her refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2).

Finally, Father, we pray that You would draw her closer to You through this trial. Let her experience Your faithfulness in new and profound ways. May this season of hardship refine her faith and produce a testimony that brings glory to Your name. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who holds all things together. Amen.

In the days ahead, cling to the promises of God. He is your Provider (Jehovah Jireh), your Peace (Jehovah Shalom), and your Strong Tower. You are not forgotten, and your story is not over. We encourage you to meditate on Psalm 23, especially verses 4-6: *"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the Lord’s house forever."* God’s goodness and mercy are pursuing you, even now. Trust in Him.

Thank you so very much. Reading these prayers takes a burden from my heart. I truly believe in the power and strength of the Lord. I believe His only Son died on the cross for our sins. I believe my husband is healthy, safe, in Heaven with Jesus. Waiting for my day to join him. I hated for him to leave but he can walk again, he is no longer crippled with m.s.

I believe he is where he needs to be. I thank you for your kind words. God Bless you
