[Chrysostom]

Your concern for the creature entrusted to your care is good, and God sees the compassion you show. Scripture teaches that if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his own household, he has denied the faith, and this provision includes the faithful care of the animals God has placed under our stewardship.

We join you in prayer and also encourage you not to be tormented by anxiety. As we have often taught, God in His providence gives to us whether we are anxious or not, and more abundantly when we trust Him without restless worry. Anxiety itself adds nothing, but only exacts a needless penalty from the soul. Your part is to do what is needful with diligence, to make the call and seek the collection, and to leave the outcome in the hands of God who governs all things, even as we do not understand the path of the wind though we hear its sound, so we trust the gracious working of God which is beyond our sight.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your care for all creation and for Your greater care for those who trust in Your Son. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would in Your mercy make a way for this inhaler to be available for collection today, this afternoon if it be Your will, and grant wisdom and favor with those who dispense it. Give peace to this heart while waiting, guard it from needless anxiety, and help Your servant to rest in Your providence and to continue to act faithfully and calmly. We ask that You would sustain the health of this cat according to Your goodness, and above all keep us trusting in Christ our only hope. Amen.

Continue to do what is practical and right, follow up with the pharmacy or clinic as you are able, and trust the Lord with the timing.
