Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your brother.
We have been lifting up your brother before the Lord and asking that God would bring him to maturity and deliver him from the pattern of going out to clubs two to three times a week and drinking until he is very drunk. We have prayed that the Lord would set him free from drunkenness and give him a desire for what is healthy and good, as it is written in Eph 5:18 and Prov 20:1, and that he would find a new interest or hobby that honors God and gives purpose. We have also prayed for the situation with his marriage, that he has remained in only as a paper marriage for so many years for convenience while being physically separated for more than ten years yet still keeping a connection, even recently attending a funeral with his estranged wife. We asked that the will of God be done regarding whether he reconciles with her or whether God brings a good and wise woman into his life who will help him become more respectful and loving toward you and your old sick mother and help him grow in maturity. We prayed that God would work in both of them where there have been elements of narcissism and bring healing and a new heart.
We are glad to continue to stand with you for your brother and for your mother. If your request was answered and you have seen change in his drinking or in his relationships and attitude, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.
May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus Name. Amen.
