Oh lord we give thanks to you for our family and ask you to continue blessing us. We ask you to deliver my brother ### , from the spirit of alcoholism. Please , pray for him to stop drinking alcohol and open the doors of blessings for him in his business and marital life. May he live a Godly life and not be taken by the things of the world which possess evil spirit. Bring the right partner and people in life.I pray this in Jesus Christ name. Amen

We hear your heartfelt cry for your brother, and we join you in lifting him before the throne of grace. The struggle with alcohol is a heavy burden, not just for him but for those who love him. Scripture warns us in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Alcoholism is not merely a habit, it is a spiritual stronghold that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. But we serve a God who is greater than any stronghold, and we stand on the promise in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."

Your brother’s deliverance begins with surrender, not just to sobriety, but to Jesus Christ as Lord. If he has not yet placed his faith in Him, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his need for a Savior. Jesus said in John 10:10, "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." True freedom is found only in Christ. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and command it to loose its grip on your brother’s life. We declare that he is not defined by his struggles but by the redemptive power of the cross.

Father, we ask You to break the chains of alcoholism in his life. Soften his heart to receive Your healing and restoration. Open his eyes to the destruction this stronghold has caused, not just in his body, but in his relationships, his business, and his walk with You. Give him the strength to resist temptation, as Your Word says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." Surround him with godly men who will hold him accountable and encourage him in his faith. Provide him with opportunities to rebuild what has been broken, whether in his marriage, his work, or his relationship with You.

We also pray for his marital life. If his marriage is struggling due to his drinking, we ask that You restore what has been lost. Help him to see his wife as a gift from You, as Proverbs 18:22 says, "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the Lord." If he is not yet married, we pray that You would prepare him for a godly spouse, one who will walk with him in faith and encourage him to live for You. Guard his heart from the world’s lies about relationships and intimacy, and help him to pursue purity and holiness in all his interactions.

Lord, we ask that You open doors of blessing in his business. Give him wisdom, integrity, and favor with those he works with. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, "Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed." May he seek Your will in all his endeavors and find his purpose in serving You. Remove any ungodly influences from his life and replace them with people who will point him toward righteousness.

We declare that your brother is not a slave to alcohol but a child of the Most High God. We speak life, healing, and restoration over him. May he rise up in the authority of Jesus’ name and walk in the freedom that Christ died to give him. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the power to overcome every stronghold.

Continue to stand in faith, trusting that God is at work even when you cannot see it. Galatians 6:9 encourages us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Your prayers are making a difference, and we believe that God will answer them according to His perfect will. Keep interceding, keep believing, and keep loving your brother with the love of Christ.

If your brother is open to it, a Christian recovery group like Celebrate Recovery or a trusted pastor who can walk alongside him might be a tangible expression of the body of Christ in his life. It’s not a replacement for prayer but a setting where God often brings healing and accountability.

As you continue to intercede for him, don’t forget to care for your own heart too. Loving someone through addiction can wear you down, so lean into the encouragement of trusted friends and the church. Your prayers for the right partner and for his business are heard, God cares about all of it.

We ask you, Father, to rescue this man from the grip of alcohol and to restore his health, his relationships, and his sense of purpose. O how this prayer resonates, for the enemy of souls has many shackles and alcohol is a grievous one, binding men hand and foot while whispering pernicious lies of liberty. Let us go at once to the throne of grace, for we have a sure promise: He brought them forth also with silver and gold, and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. The same mighty hand that severed the Red Sea can sever the cords that bind your brother.

Yet while we plead the absolute sovereignty of grace, let none imagine man is a stock or a stone. The Lord chastens, and the Lord delivers, but our brother has a solemn responsibility to flee from the cup and seek the means of grace. To pray for deliverance while raising the glass to the lips is to mock the Almighty. If he will not walk away from the tavern door, let him not wonder if the blessing tarries. The Omnipotence and Providence of God are to be believed, but man’s responsibility is not, therefore, to be questioned.

Sinner and saint alike may be assured of this: I have found a ransom. Jesus Christ has paid the price, and through Him, deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from its guilt. Where you look for justification, there must you also look for sanctification. God has not only invented this way of deliverance, but He has provided the ransom from His own bosom. That Elder Brother who met Esau and found him reconciled can make your brother’s heart new.

Go then, Christian brother, I speak now to you who plead, go and continue in prayer. It is not possible that you can perish praying. If you could perish singing, you could not perish praying on your knees. Plead the Father’s love. Cry with the Spirit of adoption. And when the deliverance comes, as I trust it shall, then let your brother not be silent. When the people are gathered together, let him declare the name of the Lord in Zion and tell what great things He has done, for a person who has been delivered from so dark a pit has a testimony that moves the church to adoration. Let us pray.

Almighty God, whose Son turned water into wine at the wedding yet gives no sanction to drunkenness, deliver this poor captive. Break the bottle and the bond together. Let this brother feel such disgust at his former stupor that he loathes it as a man loathes the pit from which he is dug. Raise him to be responsible, sober, and industrious in his calling, honoring Thee in business as well as on bended knee. May the right partner be brought to him in Thy time, a helper suited for a godly life, that together they may be heirs of the grace of life. We look to Thee alone, for vain is the help of man. Perform this work for Thy glory and the comfort of this family, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Your ###’s bondage to strong drink is a snare of the evil one, a madness that drowns the soul. Wine, when used beyond measure, brings ruin, not merriment; it is the purpose of the man, not the creature itself, that makes him a drunkard. You ask for deliverance: then join your prayers to a life of faith, not empty words, and labor with him as one reclaiming a captive. Exhort him to sobriety, for the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and no drunkard shall inherit the kingdom of God.

The blessings you seek for his business and marriage will not come while he serves two masters. Let him first cast off the works of darkness, and put on the Lord Jesus Christ, making no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts. A man given to excess will squander his substance and bring his household to misery. Use marriage with moderation, as Paul teaches, and you shall be first in the kingdom. Marriage is honorable, a bond ordained of God, not an occasion for worldly pomp or the devil’s mockeries. Let him seek a godly wife, not with the eyes of lust, but as one who will be a helper in the faith, preserving the holiness that is from Christ. Let the ### instruct him, as I said to mothers: form your sons to be modest, submissive to rule, despisers of extravagance, good stewards. Then will God open the doors of blessing, for the root being made good, good branches will shoot forth.

Beware of the stage, the tavern, all that corrupts marriage and turns the heart after harlotry; these are the dissolving of bonds, the foul stench in the ointment of a chaste life. Pray rather that he be filled with the Spirit, not with wine, and that the right partner be one who fears the Lord, not one adorned with broidered hair and gold like an actress, but with shamefacedness and sobriety. Strive together in supplication, receiving him for the Lord’s sake as one who needs assistance, and do not lose heart. It is want of faith that provokes lamentation; trust in God, who is able to raise up even the dead to newness of life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I join you in bringing your brother before the Lord. Alcoholism is a relentless bondage that has devastated countless families, and I understand the heavy burden you carry. Scripture reveals that our bodies are not who we truly are, they are merely tents, temporary dwellings for our spirits. Yet for those who belong to God, these very bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. When someone lives trapped by the flesh, chasing the next drink or bodily craving, they are walking in a way that leads to death, not life. So we must pray not simply that he stops drinking, but that his entire heart turns in surrender to the true and living God. Only the Spirit can break the chains that the flesh has forged.

God’s own word promises that if we order our manner of living rightly, then call on Him in the day of trouble, He will deliver us and show us His salvation. True deliverance springs from a heart that longs for holiness rather than mere regret over consequences. Let us ask the Lord to search your brother’s deepest thoughts, to bring him to that godly sorrow which produces repentance. God is not impressed with outward reform born of desperation; He reads the inner longings. A changed heart, one that pants after righteousness, is the sacrifice He desires.

As you intercede for his business and future marriage, remember that God’s blessings flow from a life aligned with His will. When your brother learns to walk after the Spirit, doors no man can shut open before him, and God will bring the right people alongside, including a godly spouse who strengthens him in the faith. Pray that he never settles for being unequally yoked with an unbeliever; the partner God provides will be one who shares a love for Jesus Christ and a passion for purity.

The Lord’s deliverance is meant to be like Israel’s exodus from Egypt: a momentous act of power that sets a person completely free. We pray this struggle becomes a defining testimony, a living reminder that God answers those who call on Him in truth. As your family continues giving thanks and standing firm, trust that the Holy Spirit brings genuine transformation. What is impossible with man is possible with God.
