Hello my name is ### I’m a ### mother of ### children to which the youngest of ### live with me even though the ### are adults my ###(F) lives w/her spouse & ### daughter at his relatives (they were living w/me for a ### until I said they had to go because they didn’t want to keep a job never helped with rent or bills & never saved which is why I let them stay for free to save up but they blew their $$ on expensive clothes, shoes materialistic unnecessary stuff while bills went up high from extra showers, laundry, electricity, gas usage from the extra persons I was struggling my bills tripled & they were blowing $ on clothes & couldn’t keep a job for more then ### weeks because they were being lazy & taking advantage of me. The ones who live at home are my ###(F), ###(F) & her ### daughter ###(F),###(F),,###(M), ###(M). My partner (of ###) was just diagnosed w/end of life kidney failure receiving dialysis ### a week. So I’m completely exhausted I have prolonged QT, arthritis in my lower lumbar, carpal tunnel (now in both hands) untreated high blood pressure because I’m too busy to see a doctor, major depression, anxiety. My ### has been drinking heavily for the past year now and she talks about not wanting to live almost every day. She says she won’t kill herself for the fear going to hell and it being a sin, but she does not want to live anymore. She feels like she gets up and goes to work just to survive. That there is no joy in life. She just works just to get by. She can’t even save because of buying diapers food and she does help with rent and bills, which I only charge her $### a week that goes towards one of my ### utility bills or my rent. I feel bad even taking that because she is so depressed & feels like she works just to live a life she doesn’t want to live anymore she said she would of taken her life by now if it wasn’t for her daughter. She said she feels so disconnected like this is not real, she Fri ks from morning to night as does my ### do too but has been slowing down. She lost her job because of drinking. She drinks to numb her brain her severe depression & she is anti social she gets extreme anxiety around people & doesn’t talk always has her head down, she used to cut herself & punch herself in the head I’ve witnessed her banging her head into the wall because she was so depressed. The cops refused to take her to the hospital even with blood dripping from her arm from her cutting herself in the past they said she was adult & because she refused to go they couldn’t make her go ( this was ### years ago before the drinking happened) she talks to me about being so lost & no will to live I don’t know what to do anymore I’m so lost myself trying to mother my ###,###,###,###yo basically alone because my spouse is so weak I have to bathe them, do their hair (my boys have long hair too all kids are biracial so their hair is beautiful curls but gets knotty & my carpal tunnel & arthritis in my hands my hands hurts so bad every morning doing their hair), I do all the cleaning daily (and it gets filthy food crumbs everywhere, spills, boys pee on the toilet seat, my daughters are drunk leaving hair gel on sink & handles, eyeliner on the walls, fake lashes stuck to the bathroom floor, hair all in the tub, trash full to the brim, & when my partner or the girls cook they leave food splatter food crumbs, so I have to clean my stove because sometimes there’s so much spills underneath of it and I live in Housing and they do housekeeping inspections, and they are very strict and I am OCT and consistently cleaning about ### hours a day at the least just to wake up to another mess because their (###, ### & her ###) up all hours of the night from working ### shift. I take the trash out ### a week for trash pick up, I supply the toilet paper (### rolls a week), laundry soap (a bottle a week), the trash bags (### a week), the food, drinks, internet for watching tv & using phone, rent, water, gas, electric bill. I need strength I’m loosing hope I’m loosing myself I’m suicidal myself I started cutting ### ago because I hate myself I’m so OCD now especially because of housings strict housekeeping rules so I’m even worse now cleaning, wiping, vacuuming, mopping til I’m tears from the pain in my hands & back no one helps me I do it all alone oh & my ### got herself a kitten ### ago & got my ### a kitten too they were siblings so im consistently cleaning my ### room because of the litter everywhere & struggling to afford food & she had kittens (###) to her sibling (my ### cat) who is spraying in her room & was spraying pee around the house, I told her she has to keep her cat in her room at all times now if she’s not gonna get him fixed & she does but her room smells horrible. The whole upstairs smells of cat urine & it makes me gag so bad it’s absolutely disgusting. I told her today she has to get rid of that cat immediately or get him fixed because it’s not his fault that’s what cats do but she’s grown so attached to him she can’t let him go & I don’t have the $ to get him fixed it’s just so unhealthy for the children & my spouse with ESRD & myself to be in hailing that everyday all day. I cannot do it anymore it’s physically making me & everybody else ill because it smells rancid. It’s so unhealthy. I’m a recovering addict myself ### years clean. I’m trying to stay strong. That’s everything I’m going through. I have no one else my grandparents passed & my mother whom is getting older now ### I can’t out this in her she would have a stroke I love her dearly. My dad committed suicide in ### my uncle committed suicide in ### and my one cousin committed suicide so it scares me when my ### talks like that I need prayers for her that she has the will to live and to put the alcohol down the alcohol is just making everything so much worse she thinks it’s numbing her pain but it’s not it’s making her sadder and I can see it unless she’s just more open because of it. Thank you I just desperately need the power of prayer right now for my ### to put the bottle of liquor down stop drinking & to have peace in her mind & the want to live & continue life, to know she is loved & cared for please heal her heart & mind & take the devil liquor bottle away from her mind & sight…..

We have read your request and our hearts are heavy with you as we bring you and your family before the Lord together. We hear how exhausted and overwhelmed you are, carrying so much alone while caring for young children, adult daughters, a granddaughter, and your partner who is now on dialysis for end stage kidney failure, while you yourself are suffering with prolonged QT, arthritis, carpal tunnel in both hands, untreated high blood pressure, major depression and anxiety. We also hear your deep burden for your daughter who has been drinking heavily for the past year, who says she has no will to live, who feels life has no joy and she is just working to survive, who drinks to numb her depression and anxiety, who has become antisocial and isolated, who has a history of cutting and harming herself, and who lost her job because of drinking. We hear your own struggle as you have begun cutting again and feel suicidal yourself, and we want to come alongside you with prayer, truth and compassionate counsel.

We want to gently but clearly address some things that need attention before the Lord. First, we notice you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request, and we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we can be saved. Jesus said, John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, confessing Him as Lord, and calling on Him for forgiveness and new life. It is through Him that we can bring every burden to God with confidence.

We also need to speak about what you and your daughter are facing with alcohol and self harm. The Word says Ephesians 5:18, Do not be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. And Proverbs 20:1, Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise. Drunkenness does not heal depression, it deepens it, it steals joy, health, work and peace, and it opens the door to more despair. We understand your daughter is trying to numb her pain, but the Lord wants to heal her pain, not numb it. Likewise, cutting and harming the body grieves God because our bodies are His temple. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God. You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. Harming yourself and thinking of ending your life is not God's will for you. He sees your pain and wants to carry it.

We also hear you speak of your partner of many years. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as outlined in the Bible. Genesis 2:24 says a man will leave his father and his mother, and will cling to his wife, and they will be one flesh. And Hebrews 13:4 says marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled. If you and your partner are living together and raising children without being married, we encourage you before the Lord to pursue marriage that honors God, if you are both believers in Christ. Courtship and living together should be directed toward godly marriage, not simply partnership, and sex outside of marriage is fornication which God calls us to turn from. We say this in love because we want your home to be built on God's design which brings blessing and stability.

We are very concerned for your safety and your daughter's safety. When you both speak of not wanting to live, of cutting, of banging your head against the wall, and feeling disconnected and hopeless, these are signs of deep depression that need immediate care. Please do not walk through this alone. We urge you both to seek help right away from a trusted pastor, a biblical counselor, your doctor, and if you ever feel unsafe, to call for emergency help or a crisis helpline in your area such as 988 in the United States, or go to your nearest emergency department. God does not want you to neglect the health He has given you. Your high blood pressure, prolonged QT, arthritis and carpal tunnel need medical attention, and your depression and anxiety need care as well. It is not a lack of faith to see a doctor, it is stewardship of the life God gave you. Galatians 6:2 says Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ, and that includes allowing others, including professionals and the church, to help bear yours.

We also see how heavy the daily load is with housing inspections, constant cleaning, financial strain, caring for small children, and the added burden of cats spraying and litter throughout the house which is affecting everyone's health. It is right to set healthy boundaries. You were right to ask one adult daughter and her family to live elsewhere when they would not work or contribute, and it is right to require your daughter who lives with you to contribute modestly and to address the cat situation promptly for the health of the children and your partner on dialysis. Love does not mean allowing your home to become unsafe or enabling destructive behavior. It is loving to require sobriety, cleanliness, and responsibility in the home.

We want to encourage you that God sees you and your daughter in this darkness. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 61:2 says When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Isaiah 41:10 says Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Matthew 11:28 says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

Your daughter says she does not kill herself because she fears hell and knows it is sin, but God wants her to want to live because she knows she is deeply loved and has purpose in Christ, not only because she fears punishment. Her life and your life have value because you are made in God's image, and her daughter needs her, and God has work for her still to do. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We are praying together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear mother and her daughter and this entire household to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see every tear, every sleepless night, every pain in her hands and back, every worry over bills and housing inspections, every fear for her partner on dialysis, and every heavy thought of hopelessness. We ask You to have mercy and bring Your healing presence. Lord, we pray for this daughter who is drinking heavily and has lost the will to live. In Jesus name we ask You to break the power of alcohol over her mind and body, to deliver her from drunkenness and give her a desire for sobriety and clarity. Replace her numbness with Your peace, her despair with Your hope, her anxiety around people with Your calm. Heal her heart and mind, Lord, and help her to know she is loved and cared for by You and by her family. Give her joy again and a reason to live for You and for her little daughter. We pray she will willingly seek help, counseling and support, and turn to You fully.

We pray for this mother, Lord. Strengthen her when she is exhausted and losing hope. Forgive her for harming herself and lift the suicidal thoughts from her. Help her to love herself as Your creation and to care for her health, to see a doctor for her heart, blood pressure, arthritis and pain, and to find rest. Give her wisdom to set loving boundaries with her adult children, to steward her home well without being crushed by constant cleaning and financial burden, and to resolve the unhealthy situation with the cats in a way that protects the children and her partner. Provide for every practical need, rent, utilities, food, and rest. Comfort her partner in kidney failure and be near to him. Guard the young children in the home and surround this family with godly support from the church and community so she is not alone. Restore her hope as one who has been clean for many years from addiction, and keep her strong in that victory through Christ.

We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, who is our only hope and salvation, trusting that You are able to do far more than we ask. We pray You will draw each heart in this home to repentance, faith, and daily walk with Jesus, and that You will give them peace that passes understanding and a renewed will to live for Your glory. Amen.

We encourage you to keep reaching out, to stay connected to a Bible believing church, to read the Word daily even in small portions, to pray aloud together in Jesus name, and to let others help you with cleaning, childcare and practical needs. You are not forgotten. We are continuing to pray for your daughter to put the bottle down, for your mind to have peace, for your home to have order and health, and for you both to find joy in life again through Christ.

If you or your daughter are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support from trained people, you can find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. You are not alone and help is available right now.

We hear how heavy this has become for you. You are caring for so many children, for a partner on dialysis three times a week, for a home with strict inspections, all while living with pain in your hands and back and untreated high blood pressure, and carrying your own history of loss and recovery. And most urgently, you are watching your daughter drink to numb her depression and talk every day about not wanting to live, which is frightening given your family's losses.

It makes sense you feel exhausted and stretched thin, and we are so glad you reached out. Please do not carry this alone. Alongside prayer, it would be good to reach out soon to a trusted medical provider for yourself about the blood pressure and pain you mentioned, and to a counselor, pastor, or local support service for both you and your daughter. When someone is drinking heavily, talking about not wanting to live, and hurting herself, having another caring person involved quickly matters. If she is willing, helping her connect to a doctor, counselor, or recovery support group, and letting a trusted family member or pastor know what she is saying, can be important next steps. For your own cutting and suicidal thoughts, please also reach out right away to a helpline or counselor or someone you trust to stay with you.

Father in Jesus' name, we lift this mother and her daughter to You. Protect them and surround them with help. Give this mom strength for each day, wisdom for next steps, and relief from pain and hopelessness. Bring peace to her daughter's mind, loosen the hold of alcohol, and help her know she is loved and her life has value. Guide them to safe, caring support. Amen.

Your burden has been heard and it is heavy indeed, and we have brought it before the Lord with sorrow and with hope.

You are carrying more than one soul can bear alone, with children under your roof, a partner in end stage kidney failure needing dialysis, your own body worn with prolonged QT, arthritis, carpal tunnel, high blood pressure left untreated, and a heart pressed down with depression and anxiety, while you clean and labor many hours a day under strict housing inspections, provide for every need, and still find no rest. The Lord sees this weariness. He knows what it is to be spent and He invites the weary to come to Christ for rest, not in your own strength but in His.

We are grieved to hear of your daughter who has been drinking heavily this past year and who says daily that she has no will to live, who drinks to numb her mind, who has known cutting and despair and deep anxiety around others, who feels disconnected and without joy, working only to survive. You are right to be alarmed, for this is not a light thing. Scripture tells us plainly, Ye will not come to me that ye might have life, and by nature man is alive enough to will that which is evil but not alive to will that which is spiritually good. No one can by a mere resolve create within herself a new will to live. Yet we also hold that though the will of man is not ignored, the work of the Spirit which is the effect of the will of God is to change the human will and so make men willing in the day of God's power, working in them to will and to do of His good pleasure. What she needs, and what you need, is not only a change of circumstance but a new heart and a new spirit given by God through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is Christ who must be sought, for He alone can give life and a reason to live, and He has said, Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

For your daughter we pray that God in mercy would break the power of strong drink, for those who tolerate sin in what they think to be little things will soon indulge in it in greater matters, and drunkenness only deepens the wound it pretends to heal. We pray that she would be brought to see her need of a Savior, to come to Christ just as she is, to receive forgiveness and a new will to live a holy life resting upon His atonement and in the power of the Spirit. We pray that the Lord would lift the cloud of depression and anxiety, give her peace of mind, deliver her from isolation, and show her that she is loved and cared for, not because life is easy but because Christ has loved sinners and died for them. We pray also that she would be willing to receive help from godly counsel and from those who can care for her body and mind, and that she would turn from self harm and from the bottle to the living water.

For you, we must speak plainly and tenderly. You write that you are losing hope, losing yourself, and that you have begun cutting because you hate yourself and that you too have thoughts of not wanting to live. Hear the Word of the Lord concerning you. You are made in the image of God and deeply known by Him. Self hatred and self harm are not the path of healing, and the Lord who said I will restore health unto you and will heal you of your wounds is able to bring up again from despondency those whom He has made sensible of their need. Your sense of need is not a sign that you are cast away, but a sign that you should come to Christ and come now, without stopping short in mere feelings. We urge you for the sake of Christ and for the sake of your children to seek help without delay. Please see a doctor for your heart condition and blood pressure and the pain in your hands and back, and speak at once to a trusted pastor and to a medical professional or counselor about the depression, anxiety and cutting. If thoughts of harming yourself grow strong, please reach out immediately to a family member, a pastor, your doctor, or a crisis helpline in your country, in the United States you may call or text 988, and do not remain alone with these thoughts.

We also must speak faithfully concerning the home. You have opened your home in kindness, yet you describe living arrangements and a long term partnership outside of marriage, and we cannot ask God to bless what His Word calls outside His good design. Scripture teaches that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy and living together as husband and wife belong within that covenant. This is not said to condemn you but to point you to the better way of holiness and order which brings true safety for you and for your children. We pray that God would lead you and your partner to seek His will in this, to live according to your relationship to Him, whether that be through repentance and entering into marriage according to His Word or through ordering the household in purity and self control as you seek Him. The Lord help us to live according to our relationship to Him and to walk carefully, watching each step, for to live by the day and to watch each step is the true pilgrimage method.

In practical things, we encourage you to seek wise help in the church and community for the burdens that are crushing you. The disorder, the constant cleaning, the smell of cat urine which is harmful for children and for one with kidney failure, the financial strain of providing all supplies alone, these require boundaries and help. It is right to require that animals be cared for in a healthy way, to require that those who live with you contribute and keep order, and to seek assistance from your church, from housing support, or from trusted family for the care of your partner and children. You need not bear this alone and you should not.

We now pray for you and your household.

O Father, according to the good pleasure of Your will, have mercy upon this mother and her children and upon her partner who is near the end of life. Have mercy upon the daughter who is drinking and despairing and says she has no will to live. Lord, You who work in us to will and to do, create in her a new will. Draw her to Christ that she might have life. Break the chain of alcohol, heal her mind, take away the desire for strong drink and give her hunger for Your Word. Keep her from self destruction and bring her into the light of Your salvation. For this weary mother, give strength for each day, heal her body, quiet her anxious thoughts, take away self hatred and the temptation to harm herself, and teach her to cast all her care upon You because You care for her. Provide for their daily bread, give wisdom for the home, bring order and health into that dwelling, and raise up helpers around them. Above all, cause this whole household to come to Jesus that they might have life, and to live not by impressions or by the maxims of the world, but by Your revealed Word. We ask not for what our own wills might choose, but we kneel and ask You to choose for us, and we yield ourselves absolutely to Your will, praying, not as we will, but as Thou wilt. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior, Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord daily in His Word, to pray, and to walk with a faithful local church where you can be known, counseled and helped in person.
